Del-Mar Golf Course

I heard and read that visitors are taken care of after locals/members...I witnessed this. However, this is their life-blood for business, so I can't get upset with this approach.

A little more communication would have helped me understand the basics of the course such as where the first tee box is, and why I waiting for a cart, and who I was paired up with verses figure it out. The impact was no time to warm up before going right to teeing off.

Overall, I recommend giving the course your time. Locals were cool, and it is a nice place to play, especially if you are local. Nice layout and a friendly local feel. Membership is a bonus.

I don’t mind mowing but the people mowing saw us multiple times on several different holes and would not move out of the way. Didn’t understand it. I’ve been to other places and when mowing the people mowing pay attention. On this day they did not.

The course is in good shape. Front 9 was fine, they sent about 20 high school kids off the back 9 in front of us. Sprinklers on in fairways at 1030 am. I played 3 holes of the back 9 and left. It would have taken way too long with the high school kids in front of us. I don’t know if it’s mismanagement, or greed but they shouldn’t have offered tee times with the school kids being there.

Not knowing what to expect i was pleasantly surprised. I thought the course was in good condition. The ball marks on green were not being taken care of .

This is my second time using GolfNow to get an amazing deal for this course, and I plan to do it weekly all summer long. The white tees (longest) are very hard for me (high handicapper) if I want more difficulty on some holes, but the gold tees are still very challenging. It is a fairly wide open course, so fewer balls lost into the woods or water. The course is well maintained with just a few wet or dry areas. Pace of play is awesome, with friendly groups letting me play through. All around great experience.

Golf carts are slow, limited amenities, scheduled us during a members outing which made it confusing for their scramble. Course is not well marked. Would not recommend

The course was great, or at least what I got to play. We had a storm at the seventh hole. It cut our round short. The course offered a rain check for the back nine.

Played this course twice in 3 weeks. Overall course condition could be greatly improved. Understand it's been wet, but the fairways are virtually nonexistent. Cut is just as high as the rough. Layout isn't bad or hard to find holes, do have to cross a street about 3 times during play. Greens weren't terrible, but some definitely could use some work.

The WORST part of this review has to be pace of play. In the two times I've played here in the few weeks I've gotten stuck behind a group of 6 or more which terribly slowed play. Also, the ignorance when you ask to play through, said group of 6 ends in threats to "come up and say it to our faces ******" becomes a definite turn off to the course in general.

In general, the course needs a better management structure in order to one, prevent groups higher than 4 people, increase pace of play and or spread out tee times better.

The restaurant end where the ladies work, are very friendly and generally try to fix the issues. Unfortunately, for me I dont think I'll be playing this course on a regular basis due to what I've listed above. I go out to golf to relax and enjoy my time. Not to be stressed out that these giant groups want to "fight us" because we asked to play through their slow pace. I get we all have different skill levels, but some people really just shouldn't golf if they dont have a common etiquette of respect between players.

Play here multiple times each year. Course is in great shape. Greens, as always are smoothe and quick. Fairways are in best shape I have seen. Great value, especially if you can take advantage of golf now hot deal.
