Reviews
Please wait patiently
They don’t open till eight and that’s when someone starts to work. First get the carts out while our two groups waited from 7:30 till almost 8:30 to tee off. Are times were 8:06 and 8:16
Still a good course with some nice aesthetic improvements
Having moved an hour north, it's been a while since I've been able to play here. They must have recently got some new signage and got their putting green back in order. The course was soaking wet, but they still had a full maintenance team out manicuring the course. Rough was managed and fairways were lined and short. Greens were quick despite being very wet. Still a tight playing course with some greens affected by fungus, but well worth the green fee to play.
If u like hills
Challenging course. Long par 3s if you want to play back. Greens average. Tee boxes and fairways not so great.
A very good course
I love this course! There are some very tough holes on this course. I know some people might not enjoy Del Mar as much as I do. Yes there are some bad spots here and there, but that is golf, take a drop and move on. If people keep complaining and someone reads these bad reviews they may not go to this course. Then what happens, the course sells out and a developer buys it and puts up a bunch of tract homes and one less course to play.
Fun in the sun
Great course, great price for 18 holes at a course that is constantly improving. Course conditions are nice greens are large and roll well. Prices in the bar for food and drinks are fair After we finished our round and enjoyed "Wing night" in the lounge. Very friendly staff and delicious food, easily the best wings I've had at a golf course.
Horrible greens and staff
First of all they air rated the green and never told us. Why where the done in June???? Are tee time was 1058 and they where water the greens. Why so late? So much water that several where unplayable either from water puddings or the sprinkler was on when you got to the hole. That was the front 9. We get to the back 9 and again the water on the greens was just o sizing out when you walked on it. Then we had to deal with the young kids mowing. They did not care that you were teeing off or hitting an approach shot. They just keeled mowing in front of you right next to you. . If they did stop they keeled the mower running. They did not care at all about your play. When I was done I asked to speak with a manager and of course the manager wasn’t even there. So I got told they would pass on my complaints and sorry. Ya like they would pass that on.
Not worth it
It’s a little off the beaten path and is not worth even going unless you live right down the road
Great for the price!
I play here as a single all the time. Can't beat it for the price!
Liar in pro shop / bar
I had 11:05am tee time. Drove 65 miles to course and was told upon arrival course closed due to excess water. I had received no phone call re: closure. No apology. Went to car, noticing several carts being loaded with clubs and one patron said course was open for an outing. I called course from car in parking lot and it went to voicemail. I expressed disappointment with lie about course being closed when it was clearly open for the outing. I requested call back from owner / manager. It’s ten days later and no call back. Incredibly poor customer relations and lousy behavior by the guy in pro shop / bar. Don’t patronize this course … it appears they are only interested in known locals.

I apologize that you drove so far however in all due respect the course was flooded and unplayable. The said outing drove on the roads to holes, and only played holes that could be used (not all 18)
A gem
Very beautiful hills and valleys golf course that has a bite from the tips. Excellent condition, fun to play, staff are extremely helpful and nice. A must play !
Very nice course for its price. Most of its fairways are pretty open, but it does challenge you on a few with narrow fairways. The weather was perfect for my round so the course was in great shape. I shot my best round ever here with an 86 (I usually shoot mid to high 90's) the only problem I had was a couple, maybe 3 max, greens had dead spots on them close to the pin. But other than that I would definitely recommend this course if you are nearby. My drive was a little less than 45mins but $20 for 18 holes was definitely worth it for this course.
Sir,
In all honesty if you knew anything about public golf course situations you would understand that mowing occurs during the day, yes while you are playing, and 2nd aeration occurs in the Spring as well. The course used a professional company to aerate and that the date scheduled
