Good value, nice place but…
People are very nice and it’s a lovely setting. Plays very long which is its major defense. Holes are good if not particularly memorable, especially on the front.
The course is typical of a highly played public course. Lots of unfixed ball marks on the green, very rough and uneven tee boxes.
But they need to work on pace of play. We had a 1:38 tee time and didn’t get off until a while later. We were a threesome and we waited at every hole, even after consecutive par 3s. Probably 45 minutes of waiting.
Much of this is to be expected expected from a public track with a lot of rounds and a lot of the issues could be solved by more courteous players For that reason I will be back and would gladly recommend.
Great Day
While I have played the course before, I played the combination tees where instead of the whites on all tee boxes, you can play the golds on select holes which did make the round more enjoyable on some of the longer holes seeing as I am advancing in years but getting shorter on drives.
Slow Play
Encourage players to play from the proper tees. Had to wait on every hole because of poor players playing from back tees. 6 hours for a round is brutal.
I was on vacation in RI and tried this course.
Everything was great and t-off was on time.
Would recommend and will play again.
Beautiful course: Killer greens
The course has a terrific layout, very well maintained. The staff was pleasant. Greens, while in great shape, are stupid hard. Some of the hole layouts are ridiculous. Pace of play is a little slow. But 8 minutes in between tee times dosent help. 10-12 minutes would led for more fluid play
Great Day of Golf
Enjoyed a beautiful day of golf here on our trip to Portsmouth, RI. Friendly Staff, easily maneuvered our way around the course, and only wish my play on the back nine was as good as my front nine holes. 🤔
Great Recreational Golf Course
All the holes are perfect for the recreational player. You could almost not hit an errant shot. Even shots hit far left or right still had a very good look at the green on the second shot. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape.
Will Play There Again
Excellent course, with some long holes. Beautiful condition. I joint up with a husband and wife who play there a lot, and they were very nice. Had a great day.
Overbooked nightmare
The starters are a bunch of teens and they just let anyone go off as soon as they are ready so the course gets super backed up and it's really not worth paying to play golf here at all
GVCC
The course was in great shape. Greens are fast and challenging.
