Hot deal
Found a hot deal. It was in good shape for the price
Greens
Best ever at this course , must read them bringing back the putting fun.
Midland Valley GC
Greens are in good shape at this time and rolled great, you can really appreciate the slope of the greens when they roll well. Great layout, many elevation changes, really a nice course, overall conditions good right now.
Great in all aspects.
Only problem was tee tie made in advance and their computer was down and had to wait 45 minutes to be worked in. I hade a copy of my confirmation on my phone.
Nuts
100 degrees out, not one water fountain worked with no water coolers to help. Actually ridiculous for a golf course in the South.
Good experience
This is the first time I played Midland Valley, though I only live 7 miles away. I am a member of a nearby club and just felt like a change of pace. I read the reviews on Golf Now and almost didn't play. So, here's what I experienced: the greens were in great shape; the fairways were in great shape; the rough was not kept up so well; the car paths were not kept up so well; the club house was weak and mostly shut down; the carts were in great shape. All in all, it was a good experience for the money. I will do it again.
Good layout.
Very good design. Greens are in good condition, but the surrounds are only fair, as are the bunkers. Fairways are reasonably wide and in good condition. If someone put some money into conditioning this course it could demand a much higher green fee. As is, it is priced about right.
Midland Valley
Nice layout and friendly people. Course condition was average.
Looking Good
Theyve really come a long way. The course looks amazing and for the price its a no brainer to play.
Excellent value
Played in the afternoon. 94*. had the course all to ourselves. Firm conditions; but very playable. Greens putted well. For $15.00 golf now price; it is best deal in the Aiken, SC area.
good deal on fun layout
I have played Midland valley before but not in the last year. The course grass was thin in some places and the greens had been sanded but not heavy . Good layout with many different clubs used during the round. Elevation change throughout the round added to the challenge. If you strike the ball consistently solid you can have a real good round. I would play again and hope the greens have grown in a little more.
Nice Layout
The layout of this course is great. It is very playable. Good shots are rewarded.
They dye the grass
Not worth the price, the little grass they had was was sprayed green, all of the greens where in the worst shape I ve ever played on! They really took advantage of the master s week. My advice is stay away
Nice course!
Good change in elevation and challenging greens. Not much water but no on course water for drinking either... Be prepared for this. But, nice experience overall.
Greens a little rough
Fairways in pretty good shape, bunkers are a bit rocky and could use some sand. The greens however are in pretty poor shape for this time of year; most have bad spots they are attempting to fill with sand and it is just not going well so far. Frustrating to hit a decent shot within 10' and not have a chance because the putt bounces/veers immediately off course.
Waste of time and money.
Played here for the first time in 2 years. The last time spent the drive home saying never again. We wanted to give it another go, BAD IDEA. The course, from the driving range to tee box to fairway to green, is in absolutely horrible shape. Bare ground everywhere. $38.50 when they could not run my Hero Card at the pro shop. We wanted to walk off at 9, but such a beautiful day kept us driving to the 10th tee, where we encountered a foursome that we had not seen on the front 9 at all. Being that it took our twosome 2 hours and 10 minutes to finish the front, we had plenty of time to stand around and keep our eyes open. The "management" if you can call them that, needs to honor tee times and be out ON THE FIRST TEE to control pace of play. The unplayable grounds, the wait 8 minutes after every shot, and the course allowing anyone to walk up, go out and tee it up on either the first or tenth tee, the outrageous $38.50 green fee, should and will be the downfall of this once great course. It will fade away like the early 70's clubhouse design is quickly doing. Zero love for this course from just one of many, every weekend, local duffers. Will never play here again.
