Brandon Golf Course

I've played most of the public offerings in the Sioux Falls area, but Brandon Golf Course had been off my radar, until recent rains in the area forced a change of plans. It turns out, the Brandon Golf Course is another solid offering in the area for public golf.

While the clubhouse sits on a hill, most of the golf course plays very flat down in the valley. In fact, with the exception of the tee shot on 10, there is little to no elevation change on the golf course. Most of the course is tree lined, with several medium length par 4s challenging the golfer. Overall it's a decent layout, but nothing too exciting.

The condition of the course is good, and the greens are the star. They are very fast with some fairly severe slopes. Given the relative shortness of the course, the greens are it's main defense. If I were to nitpick on the conditions, the bunkers are not maintained, and the day I played, the greens mower was dropping grass clippings on the putting surface, which led to some cleanup work being required.

My favorite hole is the par 5 eighth. It's a true risk/reward par 5. With a good drive, it's possible to go for the green in 2, but this also brings water right into play. The green is also severely sloped, making chipping difficult if you do miss the green with your 2nd.

I would play Brandon Golf Course again. It's not spectacular, but it's fun for a quick 18 on an early weekend morning. I'm told the early tee times are rarely full, so always a good option for sunrise golfers.

Everyone makes mistakes - it’s how you handle it that counts. ..

We were in from out of state. Made a tee time online for 8am. Called to update as we only had three not four No problem there. Played 15 holes in 2:45 and then someone appearing to be the course pro or manager shows up to inform us we had to be off the source by 11 because they had an outing with a shotgun start scheduled. NOT ONE WORD was said about this when I called, payed, or made the turn.

Deb in the Pro Shop and the lady in the grill were awesome. The person I referenced above tried to blame it on system issues and then wanted to provide a free/discounted round in the future. Can’t use then when I am from out of state. Had he simply apologized for the mix up this review might have been different.

Course is in great shape. Greens were awesome!! Pace of play was perfect!! Will be playing again this summer several times!!

We love golfing at Brandon. Beautiful 18 holes course that is always it great shape.

The course is gorgeous and playable for all skill levels. It sits down in a valley surrounded by a river and bluffs. The view from the clubhouse is incredible--great place to have a bite and a beer at the turn or after the round.

My husband and I were in town for a wedding and decided at the last minute to golf before heading home. We looked on golf now and found a hot deal that was available at Brandon golf course in 20 minutes. We were so glad we did! The course was in great shape for late spring! We had been on a number of courses that had spotty fairways and Los of water on the course. Not so at Brandon. In fact, we made sure to let the staff know and they showed us photos of the flooding just a few months prior. Thanks for all the hard work to get the course in shape! Enjoyed the layout and pace if play too! Friendly staff in the pro shop and bar too.

Great course nice greens, some fairways had either winter kill or I’m assuming flood kill, but That will come back. I would highly recommend this course. I will be back.

Very fun course to play. Challenging but doable. Great staff and course is in great condition. Recommend to everyone, give it a try.

Great Course
Had a really Great time, My wife and I are traveling cross country and playing at different courses as time permits. differently recommend it if passing through the area Sioux Falls area.

We enjoyed our time on the course. Grounds are well maintained and excellent for intermediate golfers. Reasonable rates.

This was our choice to play in the Sioux Falls area. We were pleased by the overall conditions of the course, and the layout.
The greens were were very quick, and the ball rolled well, but they held your shot very well. Would play again if we are in the area.

It's a pretty fun layout. Challenging from the tips. A lot of break on several greens but fair. It's definitely a little slow on the weekends but not terrible. A little over 4 hours for a round. Water comes into play on quite a few holes. The rough isn't super long so it's not bad to play out of. For the most part if you stay out of the water you won't lose any balls.

nice course. back nine very different from front. #11 is challenging going down the left of the water. #12 has a huge cottonwood tree at the corner of the dog leg. Hard to figure out where to hit the drive.

Course was in excellent shape. Staff very friendly, other golfers friendly also. Will definitely come back.

Well maintained and Fun to play! Elevated tee box on hole 10 was fun! Friendly staff-very helpful.

A relaxed small-town pleasant golf course. Nice variety of holes some challenging some fairly easy. Tees that accommodate high to low handicaps. Nice use of existing elevation changes and contour. If you are passing through on interstate 90 it is just a very short drive to the course and worth the stop.
