Golfer Reviews
Lovely course
My favorite course in the area. Everything is in great shape. Not crazy about the greens. Just enough sand sometimes that prevents the ball from checking a bit and it seems like no one wants to fix their darn ball marks. I fixed 5 or 6 every single hole just to try and help. Staff does a great job here and the course is in beautiful shape, but we need to do our part as well. Keep up the awesome work Greystone, I'm planning on becoming a member next year. Cheers!
Course Conditions
I was very frustrated. The greens were awful. It would be one thing if I knew that going in but there was no indication they were under repair and maintenance. Typically a fantastic course but definitely disappointed this time.
Greens in trouble
Love this course , great layout, great guys in the clubhouse, fair pricing and amazing chicken salad but it's all ruined right now by the conditions of almost every green. Never seen a sprinkler on or the greens being watered so no rain means no grass on the most important part of the course. Please guys it may be too late but there is a lot of golf left in the season but for me I may be done here till next spring 🥲
Greens
The fairways and tee boxes are in great shape. A few of the collars were recently sodded (wasn’t a big deal). Bunkers could use a little TLC. The greens were in terrible shape - they aren’t as bad as they were last year but they’re still terrible compared to other courses in the area. Nothing rolled consistently. It’s a shame because this is a great course but until they figure out the greens it isn’t worth the drive or the money.
Incredibly disappointed.
I’ve been coming to Greystone for several years despite it being over an hour drive away and was excited to return to the course I thought I knew to be sadly mistaken. I looked online for tee times and booked a tee time that was $41 on the website only to be charged $70 at the clubhouse. When asked about this, I was simply told “Well you called the clubhouse to book and that was online”. Not only is this false advertisement but just terrible business. So be incredibly careful with booking and if they try to charge you more then literally just get on the website right in front of them and book the cheaper rate to show them how dumb their policy is.
I could’ve gotten over the atrocious greens and terrible shape of the collars of the greens but after driving over an hour to get charged nearly double what I booked it really just left a sour taste in my mouth. The views are still beautiful and it’s still such a cool property, but I couldn’t recommend playing elsewhere more until they get their stuff together regarding conditions and overall business.
Solid course
Enjoyed the course. Beautiful area and nice views. Course in good condition in fairways. Greens seemed to have some burn soots and bumpy in spots. No water ion the course to drink was a bummer. Add water and get greens in good condition and it would be spot on.
First time
Very interesting layout and in great condition. First time player but we will definitely revisit. Greens recently punched and some were still a little rough. Overall a solid experience. Very slow back nine pace (2 1/2 hrs)
Aeration Alert / Course Construction
Normally I wouldn’t write a review like this but there was zero notice online, over the phone, or on this app. The course is undergoing pretty substantial construction. They just aerated. Greens are a disaster from not only the plugs but from being soft and wet constantly. Many greens have been completely stripped of its fringe and is now either just dirt or fresh sod with 4” of rough on them. #16 was straight closed, so we only played 17 holes. Normally, I don’t care about this, most of this stuff is normal maintenance and also you want to see the chorus making improvements. But there was no notice anywhere telling you that the course was undergoing drastic construction, has entire holes closed, and all the greens are completely aerated with no top dressing. Seems I would have spent my money elsewhere. Sort of a waste of a really beautiful day.
Shocked at the poor condition
One Par five was completely closed down. Several greens had been stripped down the the dirt at the collar. The ones that did have sod had new sod with crack and super high. Very very disappointed. I have never left a golf course review because people usually get what they pay for, but in this case please save yourself the drive and the money. 100% not worth it.
Weather is a pain
Never played here before. My paired up players were kind. Rain delayed tee times and Only got to play 9. But they give out receipt rain checks. Course is beautiful and challenging. Alot of blind shots l, bunkers and water hazards. However, minimal trees. Hard to lose balls. It is expensive. But GolfNow makes it affordable.
Greens Need Work
Fun course, has plenty of challenges. the greens were very disappointing, balls marks not fixed, greens not mowed recently…sub par for a highly rated course in Md Tn!
Great Course in Middle Tennessee
Courses has grown in nicely after the dormant burmuda started growing in mid-spring. Quite a few fairways it felt like you were hitting off of carpet. Greens rolled true. Twilight 18 is a good bargain !
One of the better ones in Nashville area.
I just moved here a couple years ago and I am still exploring many of the courses in the area. This course is fantastic and in great condition (especially relative to others in the area). I am absolutely going to take friends there who visit from out of town and I will also be visiting it again even though it was a 40 minute drive for me. Highly recommend. (only downside is the 12 hole tee shot. Hit perfectly down the middle only to be stuck behind one of the large boulders in the middle of the fairway).
It’s back in great shape👍👍👍
I don’t usually leave reviews but this one is so warranted. Last year I thought I may never return to this course because a lot of the greens were in such rough shape. What they managed to do in such a short time is honestly amazing. I’ve loved this course for a few years now, and I was pretty bummed to see it going downhill, but yesterday completely renewed my faith in the caretakers of this place. Great job putting Greystone back in my top favorite middle TN courses🙏🙏
One of the better courses in Nashville area
Been playing many of the courses near the surrounding Nashville metro area, this is probably my favorite one. Very scenic and fun course to play. The club house was extremely nice, and all staff was super friendly and helpful. That being said as others have mentioned the greens are not the greatest, it is kind of unpredictable how they will run on each hole. I give this course 5 stars despite this I would play here again for sure.
