Twelve Stones Golf Club
About
Twelve Stones Golf Club (formerly known as Twelve Stones Crossing) sprawls across rolling hills, making the golf course known for its dramatic elevation changes. An even lie will be hard to find and golfers will also have a few blind shots in store for them. The undulating terrain makes for some difficult holes but it serves another, more player-friendly purpose of providing scenic respite with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. The greens are lightning fast, but they roll true and there is rough bordering the well-manicured fairways. There are also several bunkers strategically placed throughout. It is a golf course that is challenging but still fun to play, a statement that holds true for a wide range of skill levels. Given the versatile design and affordable rates, Twelve Stones Golf Club is a popular venue for tournaments and outings.

Great for the Price!!!
This Course has a great layout the greens was okay I had a great time playing and I will be back..
Great place to play. This was my 10th round this year here, Nice layout with plenty of challenges for all levels of play. Staff is extremely friendly and very helpful the putting green is coming along and should be ready by now enjoy your round
Best finish ever!
Tee off and an 8pt buck struts across the fairway! Had a bad 13 holes then finished strong! Got a birdie on 18, hit my 6 iron into the flag and ball dropped 8" from the cup! Tap in for birdie!
The ladies in the lounge were very nice, we will be back after ma nature cooks us down!
A must play
I played here last about 8 years ago and it was awful. The greens were burnt up and just in horrible condition. Lately I've been reading some positive reviews on Golf Now and saw there were new owners and they have done a lot of good things to the course. So I thought let's go see and give it a try. I hit the driving range first and was disappointed that you couldn't hit any woods. A minor thing but I like to warm up first. I had forgotten that every hole goes either straight up or straight down. The greens were excellent, they were soft and held very well. They also putted smooth and true with a very consistent speed. The fairways were in great shape too. Overall I was very pleased. I'm kind of a golf snob and like to play nicer courses and I will come back here. Keep up the good work.
On the up and up!
This course has paid its dues over the years. It's now under new management and in playing this course for the second time this year, I've already seen improvement. Greens are running much smoother, tee boxes are developing, and the fairways are okay. I gave 4 stars because I'm optimistic about my local course! Still no practice putting greens but it did look like they were working on some on the hill behind the club house. Fully expect great progress this time next year.
Best golf in town
For the money this course is hands down the best for the money!! Give it a try and you will love it!!
Great course, needs staffing improvements
I have always loved this course. So glad the latest owners have finally got it back in great shape. The greens are excellent & the fairways are in very good shape, the rough has been reclaimed. Some of the bunkers still need some work, but it is a work in progress & the speed of the improvements have been nothing short of mind boggling. There is still no practice putting green or chipping area (the original design had a fantastic short game area), but a new practice green is in the plans & will be located nearer the course than the original.
The one area that needs marked improvement is that more staff is needed. They current 3 or 4 people cannot keep up with the cart demand. We had to wait a few minutes for a cart to be prepped even though our tee time was only about 5 minutes away. But the main area of concern is that they need help at the starter position. The starter is a very nice, friendly gentleman, but he seems to be overwhelmed. I have played the course 3 times in recent months, & each time the first tee box was a complete mess. The last time I played on June 3rd, I had an 11:48 am tee time. I booked as a "hot deal" for 2, & was informed by the man at the register in the pro shop that they had paired another twosome with us. But when we went outside we couldn't find the starter at 10 mins before our tee time & there were no carts available. We got a cart about 2 minutes before our tee time & drove up & found the starter. I asked him about the twosome joining us & he said "I probably already sent them off". There were 6 carts sitting at the first tee. We pulled in behind them & finally teed off about 12:30 pm.
Great To See 12 Stones Is Back
I have been a regular at this course for the last 15 plus years. I watched it go from one of the best courses in Nashville, to a crying shame. Literally, it broke my heart to see it get so run down.. The new management group has taken the time and spent some money to bring a great track, back to life. Greens were great, fairways were well-kept, and there was grass, not weeds, on the fairways. Restaurant was sharp looking, white linen cloths on the table, good food. And the value, I'm a senior and with a cart I played for $ 27. I've always called it my course, and it's great to see it back as one of Nashville's best.
Good Value Lot's Of Potential
The course, as has been mentioned, has come a long way from a few years ago when it was essentially left abandoned. Clubhouse has a great restaurant for before or after a round. Getting something in between nine holes can be a tad tricky for a first time (getting off the course and into the clubhouse pro-shop) but it is manageable and relatively quick. Not the greatest of options in the pro-shop. As they continue to build would like to see more purchase item or turn that space into a more defined casual drinking/eating space. Right now it's just the basics & quite minimal. The course greens are is nice shape, fairways are consistent through most of the course, tee boxes are also relatively consistent throughout. It is a hilly course so I know this can be a tricky undertaking. Bunkers seem to be the last remaining item of reconstruction. Many could use some work, though the ones that you'd expect get the most play have improved. This course is a tricky layout with a lot of shots hitting off hills and slopes that can kick your ball around. And many of those bounces can be difficult to see (especially if you go to the back tees). Would love to see a yardage book or signs that offer play tips for those playing their first few rounds. Also not sure if they've updated yardage from its original design, some holes feel longer & some shorter that's the scorecard. I've lost a few too many balls off of good shots because it kicked down a hill into somewhere or skipped over a green and made for a handful of annoying holes. All said, it's a good challenge, fair for the most part and a super value for the golfer.
The hidden gem of Nashvilel
So- I was reluctant to write this review because I really love 12 Stones so much and don't want it to become extremely busy, BUT, that's pretty selfish of me so I decided too. This course is magnificent for the price. I love it because it is very long and the greens are great. I have never had issues of it being backed up or too busy like most courses get. The staff is super friendly and very welcoming. You can get some great deals if you play large groups. It'd be nice for some more food options but YOU CAN'T have it all lol. The only thing I have to say negative is that sometimes there is a lot of trash. That's an issue a lot of places, even at some of the nicest clubs around town. I've seen this course do nothing but improve since the first time I played there. I only regret not having the time to play here more. I am not an employee of the course haha. I really just love this course so much and wanted to share the good news (again- reluctantly haha).
Played with wife
The course has improved over the last year. The greens are much better and the fairways are still a work in progress. I would say the course is definitely improving but still has some work to do in the future. Most of the improvements has been on the greens. Would play again at the right price.
Please surprise.
Have not played this course in a while. New owner has it looking good. Some of the best greens around.
Great course for the price
This course was in a lot better shape than it was a few years ago
Awesome!
This course is awesome! They got a new owner and management and really turned the course around. You won't find a better course for the money.
Stff
Staff were extremely friendly, very good people there. Ill return for that reason alone.
I have never seen a worse pace of play in all my years of playing golf. It took almost 3 hours for 9 holes of play. Ended up leaving early because I couldn't take it any more. The lunch at the turn was the best food I have ever had! The people in the restaurant were very friendly. The course lay out is amazing but could use someone at the course who knows how to maintain it. Lots of potential in this course just very mismanaged
1Twelvestones
My first time here, Greens were smooth and kinda quick but they were consistent. I had to look around a couple of times to make sure I was going to the correct tee. Lots of elevated greens where you cannot see the bottom of the flag. GPS worked better here than the range finder. Some tight fairways and blind tee shots, but markers in every fairway so just hit to them . Yardages markers on every hole (helpful) . I will play this one again, enjoyable round.
First time back in many years
Glad to see this course making a comeback. Greens were great!!!!! Bunkers are coming along. Many trees and growth have cleared and the turf is getting some air. Rough was mowed short so easy to find your ball. Probably the best bargain in the area right now.
