Beautiful Tight Track
I remember this course from 20 years ago when I lived in the area and glad to see they were able to bring it back after its closure for about 4 years. They have done a Very Good job of bringing this course back into shape. Greens were Very good and rolled true although there were a few patches of unwanted foreign grass. Fairways were in excellent shape and ball almost always sat up nicely on a cushion. Some of the tee boxes are showing the averse affects of our grueling summer heat and had assorted dead and brown spots. Bring your "A" game on your long irons as even from the White Tees the Par 3's played between 180 and 200 Yards. Course knowledge is critical because some shots are blind and you could hit more than needed and end up in water fronting a green or at the end of your tee shot.
Best dollar for dollar
I have played this course 4 or 5 times. It is in the best condition I have seen. Normally the greens are hard as a rock and need attention but not yesterday. Some of the tee boxes need help but other than that it was in great condition. For $12 on golfnow you will not find a better deal. Go play this course before the heat drys it out.
pinehurst
They should let you know when there is a tournament going on but still not a bad pace
Nice long course
Had a nice time me and my wife
Pinehurst/Shores
The course is in good shape however the greens are hard. They do not hold and shots that hit the green in the air roll out. Frequently off the back. Fast and pretty smooth but hard to hold. Fairways, sand traps and tee boxes are in good shape.
Good Fun Game , While fighting the heat
Wonderful Staff enjoyed my round
New Favorite
This is a 27 hole course that is well layed out. This was my 4th time playing and will not be the last. For the price in Golf Now, it's well worth it. What I heard it used to be a great course back in the 80's/90's until it got revived again by the community's HOA. The last two visits they are redoing 9 holes which is great to know that they still have 18 other holes to play in. All 27 are challenging and greens are well maintained. I will be coming back b/c of the friendly staff, great course and close to home.
Wet times
This is a very nice layout and the staff is friendly and helpful. We have had record rainfall in the area this year and the course condition showed it. I hit the ball in the fairway and still had 1" grass to hit out of. I am sure I will have a better round if we ever dry out enough to let the mowers back on the course.
Good course for a fair price.
This is a good course. The staff was top notch and the Marshalls were friendly. They had us on the paths and that was a good call. The greens were much better than some of the reviews I read. If there is negative to be found, this course is long. I played the white tees and I had long irons in all day. But we need that from time to time. Overall, I would give GP of A very high marks.
Great course for the money
Course is in great shape considering how much rain we have received - it was cart path only when I went out. Some invasive grass on the greens but the fairways were okay. The only beef I would have with the course is the lack of variety. All the pat 3's are the same length(168-178) and all the par 4's are the same length (370-390)from the white tees (for the most part).
nice layout
liked the greens, unfortunately it was cart path only.
Improved Course
This course has really improved over the last year. The course is challenging and is located in a nice area.
Great first time experience!
Best first time experience. I had questions. They were answered enthusiastically.
mature course
was a mature course with decent conditions . not worth more than 20 bucks.
Great Saturday at Tasky
I have played these course for several years. Considering that these courses were ignored for a number of years, they are in pretty good condition. There are spots of Poana on the greens and the greens need to be punched. That being said, they are in great condition considering they were abandoned for so long. These two nines were the original 18 at Atascocita and find these the most fun. The new ownership are doing great things and I look forward to these courses getting back to the condition they were in the past. 1:20 tee time and we pretty much had the course to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon. Couldn't believe it. Definitely worth the hot deal price given the quality of course and day we played.
Friendly Staff
I played the course for the first time. It does need some work but almost all courses due this time of year coming out of winter . The staff there was very friendly. i will definitely go back
had no clue
I had no clue this place existed. Wide open faiways were in grear condition. Greens ran true but super bouncy due to the abundance of querter-size weeds that were annoying. Great value thanks to Golfnow.. Will definately return. Layout is cofusing to the first timer. Staff had to actually draw a map that was very helpful.
hidden gem
First of all, the staff was excellent. We arrived an hour early and they put us on the course, as well as advising us we could play all day. Course was good and greens were super fast. Few grass issues on some greens but overall it was great. Bunkers were soft and easy to play out of. Water on course at a lot of holes. 1st timers and people that play often should love this set up.
If you have not, go play.
The winter has not been nice to this course.
Fairways are OK, wet in some areas. Greens are not good, so hard they don't hold at all and didn't leave a single pitch mark all day that needed repair. They are so infested with pohanna that they are nearly impossible to pot.
