had no clue
I had no clue this place existed. Wide open faiways were in grear condition. Greens ran true but super bouncy due to the abundance of querter-size weeds that were annoying. Great value thanks to Golfnow.. Will definately return. Layout is cofusing to the first timer. Staff had to actually draw a map that was very helpful.
hidden gem
First of all, the staff was excellent. We arrived an hour early and they put us on the course, as well as advising us we could play all day. Course was good and greens were super fast. Few grass issues on some greens but overall it was great. Bunkers were soft and easy to play out of. Water on course at a lot of holes. 1st timers and people that play often should love this set up.
If you have not, go play.
The winter has not been nice to this course.
Fairways are OK, wet in some areas. Greens are not good, so hard they don't hold at all and didn't leave a single pitch mark all day that needed repair. They are so infested with pohanna that they are nearly impossible to pot.
Nice 27 hole course
Very pretty and great 27 hole course. one of my favorite. Will play again and again.
Wrong COORDINATES ON RESERVATION
The confirmation provided by Golf Now included incorrect coordinates. Needed to copy paste course's address to my gps app on my phone.
Fairways are ample and longer than expected. Greens are in bad shape; Grass is almost non-existing. Waiting time was very adequate and slower golfers permitted faster golfera to advance. Staff was pretty friendly. Prepare to go over water a few times on the Shores 9s. Fairways are flat and a few greens are slightly elevated. I found the Shores 9s to be a bit complicated. I scored better on the second 9s.
Preserve
Course was much better condition than the last time I played. Enjoyed it very much.
Fun Course
We love this course. Staff is super friendly, and the course has fun challenges. The greens are not so great, but it's winter time. Would love to see things to purchase in the pro shop. I recommend playing.
good layout, tricked up greens
First time playing. Played Pinehurst - Point. Good layout. Can hit driver on all par 4 and 5's. Pretty wide open. Greens were ridiculously fast, and way steep. And rock hard. Maybe because they are fairly new, since they just rebuilt the course? Had a hard time keeping the ball on the greens.
Even with the greens, it was a good day on the course. Worth playing. And supposedly the other 9 I didn't play is the nicest 9. So will come back to play that too.
Hidden Gym
Great course friendly Marshalls....nice layout...no cart girl and not many water or ball cleaning stations other than that great place to play
Nice course at a nice price
This is a fairly open course with limited amounts of water and sand traps. But it is a great course for the average golfer who is looking for an enjoyable day.
Good outing
Friendly lay out , greens needs some work
To wet conditions, maybe some drain
Issues, but over all good course
This Course has a lot of History
We played with the course in very wet condition, cart paths only. It has some great holes and was in fair condition. There is a little misunderstanding of what Golfnow has referred to as "temporary greens under repair". The Greens are not either, they are the same greens as the course has had. The greens WILL NOT Hold but do putt pretty well.
Atascocita Golf Course
Played here for the first time since it was reclaimed from 3-4 years of dormancy. Overall the layout is great but the grass is a little thin, very few bunkers and the greens are rock hard. Very difficult to hold an approach shot. To bad they do not offer a senior green fee,
On the way back
This was my first time playing here since the course closed its doors many years ago. The description of the course on Golfnow said that the greens were temporary. I made the drive out there anyways to see how the old course looked. The greens were actually in good shape. I saw nothing to indicate that the greens I was hitting into were under repair or temporary in anyways. The rest of the course was only in "OK" shape. There were lots of marshy or dead areas in the fairways. Lots of mud. However, the majority of the holes were in fine shape.
The range is good. The pro shop is fine, however it took me forever to figure out that the pro shop is NOT in the main building you see when you are driving up. It is actually behind tennis courts over by the driving range.
The course is not quite where it was before it closed, but I think with some time it will be back. Plus, the Golfnow hot deal I got would rival that of the cheapest Muni's in town. I will be back in the spring for sure.
Great Course
Played for the second time and as always a great place to play a round. It's a country club that it's golf course is open to the public. Greens were fast, fairways are in good condition (but being the fall leaves all over most fairways). The course is challenging for all levels of play. The range is awesome as well. Overall, a great place for a round with friends/family.
great course! great price!
Nice course to play for a quick round..played the course in under 3 1/2 hours..
Nice Greens and Fairways
This is the second time I played this course after they reopened, the fairways and greens are getting better since the last time I played about a year ago, the staff very friendly, range in good condition and yardages marks very accurate, absolutely I recommend this Golf Course.
slow play!
The course is not in bad condition. I really wanted to play the shore 9 but didn't. The girls in the pro shop were nice and helpful as were everyone else besides the marshal. He seemed to be more concerned with watching what my friend and I were doing rather than speed up play ahead of us! That was my only concern, him and the extremely slow play. I would play this course again especially to play the shore 9.
Welcome back Atascocita!
The Preserve at Atascocita is a welcome site for golfer in the
northeast side of Houston. 27 holes that are in excellent shape, fairways plush & greens rolled true with quickness & quite undulating. Cats out of the bag now, so enjoy.
