Slowly but surely
The course is coming along, they had just punched the greens, which it desperately needed. The fairways are hard and I think should be cut a little longer, tee boxes were good, the cart girl should come around more than once in a round. (i dont drink so not for that reason). There were 2 men on the practice range with a loud speaker and a cooler of beer which is annoying.
Greens ere just aireated and sanded. Almost impossible to judge how to line up a putt.
Aeriation
We love this course. Two friends from east Texas drive to Midlothian and myself and another friend from here drive there often. The only downside to this trip was they had just aerated the greens. I wished Golfnow would have posted this and we would have waited a few weeks. Other than the greens, the course was great.
Greens are wretched
Last year it was Squaw Valley with the awful greens. This year it’s Cleburne. For those who know what I’m talking about, this is true. They need to get some fertilizer on these greens ASAP. Shouldn’t be looking this rough in May.
Greens
The greens are in terrible shape. Hopefully after they aerate they will improve
Good Layout
Cleburne offers a very good links layout, challenging shot positioning, wind is always a factor. Greens are better, but continue to be challenging because of grass length and some dead patches
Small town course
Course is coming along after the fall, the greens, fairways and tee boxes are looking good. Green were slow and others fast.
Great course and layout
Great course, great conditions and always enjoy playing here.
Nice track
Tough to play when the wind is 20+ mph, layout challenging
One of my favorite courses to play.
Love this course. Staff is friendly and helpful. Play here many times over years. Course conditions were fair but some rain would help. Still was very fun and challenging. I will be back. I play 18 holes in 3 hours
Friendly staff
Thank you for the hospitality during my recent visit. I wanted to share some feedback regarding my experience.
Overall, I had a pleasant visit. The facilities were clean, the staff was friendly, and the course is greening up nicely for the season. I also appreciated the insight from the pro regarding the year-round windy conditions by the lake. Additionally, the pace of play was surprisingly good, despite the seven golf carts queued at the first tee.
I did want to note that the restaurant appeared understaffed. With only one person cooking and another serving as the beverage cart attendant, there was a 20-minute wait for a hamburger.
Unexpected gem
Nice track that flows around the lake making wind a very formidable opponent. The greens did not look nice but rolled better than expected. Overall a fun track with some very interesting holes.
Good Course, Bad Experience
I love links style courses, and this one has some appeal. The fairways were in decent shape for this time of year, and the greens were tough enough that I can admit some of my score was on me.
That said, a five and a half hour round is brutal. What made it worse was the pro shop guy acting like two people asking for two large buckets before a tee time was some kind of personal insult. Weird attitude, bad customer service, and completely unnecessary. The course has potential, but the experience around it needs work.
Golf Now
GolfNow app charges for something that can be done at the course. Unless its a hot deal using GolfNow is useless.
