About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

Apache links looks really good. The courses here have been up and down and finally look like they used to!!
Best score to date
Friendly course, good conditions shot my best score to date.
Ok for Aug
Course is dry and needs some more water on the fairways. Greens were aerated and are improving. No water on course and pace of play was super slow on the back 9.

The greens gradually improve each week. They are still slow and somewhat bouncy, but they are getting better. I enjoy the course every time I play it. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

greens had been punched but needed to be filled in with sand. many greens have damage.Sand traps are unplayable
Greens, Grees, Greens
Still working on the greens. I played with a local who said theat the greens were great last yr, but as soon as spring time hit they went down the tubes. They should be better when they recover after aerating.
Much improved
The course is looking so much better. The staff has really been working hard on the course issues, it's obvious. Can't wait for greens to be back to 100%. Love this course
