Fun to play this good course
I like this course and have played several times. It is well worth to drive more than one hour.
Great Course to play
Course is always in great conditions and worth the drive to get to it.
Do not recommend GolfNow.com. Had to cancel two of the three reserved tee times and did it well in advance of 24 hours notice. They even re-sold these tee times. There was no refund to me. Instead they sent five codes for up to $20 off a HOT DEAL that had to be Monday thru Thursday and after 12pm. Lot of good for me since I work for a living and would have to take off work to use them. Most courses do not even offer late hot deals because the twilight rates are already reduced. And I am a GolfPass Annual member. So again, I do not recommend GolfNow.com or Teeoff.com.
Awesome!!!
The layout of the links course is awesome and amazing!!! Beautiful course highly recommend playing this course!!
Always a nice experience
Great course to play. Every time I played here always the same great experience. Friendly staff, good pace of play, challenging course and great people around.
Always a great experience
Course as always is well taken care of. Greens were a bit slow, but common for the time of year. The entire crew at this course are awesome. Always feel like they appreciate me playing there. Thanks to Steve the head pro for always being so welcoming. If you have not played here before, it is worth drive.
some of the sand traps need some work.
It's worth the drive from my home in Fort Worth to play the two courses. i prefer playing the lakes course. staff is very friendly and always helpful.
Good course and fun to play.
The course was in good shape but have just sanded the greens. Give the course about a week and the greens should be back to normal.
Excellent
Course in great shape, greens rolling perfect, no backing up. Great morning of golf.
Fantastic Place...loved Comanche Lakes!
Yes, it's out in "the country" west of Ft. Worth.
Yes, it's a bit of a drive from the DFW area.
Yes, you will think you are headed to west Texas.
BUT....
You will be SO surprised when you get there!!!
I play a lot of different courses in the DFW area, so I have a lot to compare to. The layout and conditions were well above par with even some of the top end public courses in the DFW area. Greens rolled true and have enough undulation to be challenging. The fairways are well maintained with almost no bare spots even along cart paths. Bunkers could use a little work, but I think a week of rain was the culprit there. There are a couple of long challenging par 3s and par 4s, with some shorter (less than driver off the tee) par 4s mixed in. All of the par 5s were different and each presented it's own challenge. Tee options offer something for every level of play too!
Good practice and range area, great carts with ball/club washers and USB ports, friendly staff, good food, plenty of Marshals and a Starter to keep things moving, and simply beautiful terrain with mature trees and native grasses.
It was worth the drive, and we will definitely be back!
Very nice course.
Greens and fairways are in great condition. The people working there are so nice and friendly. It was packed but We played the 18 holes in 3:45 hours, the pace of play was really good and there was no Marshall pushing the people which means the people who play there have good attitude and make you feel comfortable.
5 hour Rounds
You have groups of 5 going off every 8 minutes. Sometimes there’s a starter. Really, what they need is an on course pace of play Marshall if they’re going to book it full.
Everybody in the world plays golf now so you watch the people in front of you bird dog it back and forth in the fairway looking for a golf ball.
They say be mindful of the fact that courses are being forced to deal with handling the pandemic right now. That doesn’t really apply here since they force you to play with randos to fill up the groups and book tee times to max capacity.
Always Enjoy playing here. Top Notch
Love playing this track when I am in town. Links or Lakes. Both are just awesome fun courses that are always in top notch shape. Not over excessively tight, but has some water that your ball don't float in. If the wind is blowing it can make some holes play really tough. The greens are pretty quick, but that day were a little bumpy, could be the season, not sure if they roll them. But overall tee to green play is fair and consistant. The sand traps tended to be firm. But as long as they are all the same I'm good with that. The pro shop is small, but has a decent selection of clothes, balls, clubs. And the staff always has been pleasant. The carts are nice and have usb chargers in them. The practice facility is awesome, big driving range, great chipping green and 2 putting greens. All at a great rate. Def a gem.
A Hot Day, but a Cool Course
The Comanche Lakes course was in really good shape. It was crowded and hot, but it was well worth the drive from the DFW Metroplex.
Hello. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. With an uncharacteristically full day, we work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and allow our guest the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We are continuing to look for ways to improve our golfers experience. Thank you for playing Squaw Valley Golf Course - Comanche Lakes Course. We hope to see you again soon.
