Southern Oaks Golf & Tennis Club

Southern Oaks is a good to great course for any player. You’ll never play in to another fairway which is always appreciated. Marshall was reliable in moving along slow players. Tee boxes visible and in good shape, fairways offered a good variety of challenges as well as forgiveness, greens are well planned and nicely maintained. Will definitely keep this course in rotation all year.

Southern Oaks is a great course to play, and I always enjoy playing here. They are still working on the 17th and 18th holes to try to improve the course and make it the challenge that it has always been, but for the most part, everything is great.

The wife and I have played Southern Oaks several times over the last few months and walked away disappointed each time. Although, we’ve met some great people on the course.

Course conditions are getting worse each time we play.

Pace of play is bad, too many twosome, groups are not spread out enough.

Show up, no carts available, no range balls available to warm up.

We are average play golfers.

This was our first time to play here at Southern Oaks golf course.

Overall, the course was in fair condition, and we felt we got a good price. However, there was major construction on a couple of the fairways and greens, and the greens themselves were a bit bumpy. Additionally, the canopy on our golf cart was loose and rattled throughout the round.

On a positive note, the gentleman at the pro shop was very friendly and accommodating.

Course was in good shape. Some greens and fairways were being sanded and improved.

Nice place to play!

This course has some length and the greens have a good amount of contour in them. Front nine greens were not good. Many dead/rough spots. Need some work. back nine greens were better, but they’re slow. Fairways had some wet areas/soggy. We had to lift,clean and place. Plugged a few drives in the middle of the fairway (not from rain). Overall we had a good time. I’d give the course 5.5.

Facilities were great and staff was friendly. The course has some holes you can attack and some you have to manage. Most fairways are wide but a few are narrow. Greens need some help in areas but overall the course was in good shape. For a Monday late morning round I was surprised at the amount of people. Overall I would play here again for sure.

Greens were in rough shape with alot of repair work. Would have expected better with the price of thr round.

Love this course layout. Couple greens have issues including one temp green. But they are working on it. Overall in good playing condition considering the time of year. Played as a aingle on a liesurely pace in under 4 hours at 2pm saturday. Enjoyable round despite the heat.

We got the first tee and play was already delayed. Now this was no fault of the course. I love this course and the layout which is why I went back in hopes of the pace of play issues had been resolved. There needs to be a marshal on the course especially because you can go split tees and sometimes without the knowledge of the staff. At times there were 4 groups on a hole. It seems that etiquette is a lost attribute. Again, if you have 5 hours to play then go visit. Otherwise, you might want to play elsewhere.

The staff was friendly and the majority of the course was in good shape. Some of the greens needed some attention. I felt the pace of play was decent. Overall, I enjoyed the round and would likely play again in the future.

I've played this course a number of times in the past and enjoyed it, however I was VERY disappointed in the condition of the greens this time. Half the greens were VERY bad and the other half were average at best. There were 2 temporary (very small rough) greens as well.

Great course. Especially for the price. Easy to navigate from hole to hole.

Live this ciurse. Its one of my favorites. But the greens are currently in rough condition. They are working to improve them but many greens are sanded in spots and i brlieve they currently have 2 temp greens created to save the existing green. Hoping they ccn get course back in previous condition cause yhe layout and condition of the course has historically been great!!
