Great range & fun layout
Played with my son, got paired with an excellent duo. The course was in great condition for the price. We paid $53/ea and the only complaint I had was that the bunkers were full of water and completely unplayable. But, that’s understandable as it rained the night before. Tee boxes were good and fairways were as good as you could ask for as a high handicapper. Greens were fine, patchy in a couple spots but for the most part, rolled true. Carts were in good shape with accurate GPS.

Could be a great course
The greens and tee boxes are in excellent shape. A few of the fairways need some work. Overall enjoyed the first visit to this course.

Top-notch Muni
I have played this course many times over the years. Until recently, I had not played it for a long time. I recently returned and I am ecstatic over the changes and improvements. It’s worth every penny and a great layout. The greens are awesome and the course is challenging while fun. Don’t pass up any chance you have to play Southern Oaks. You be glad you played it and are sure to return.

Making a comeback
The bad problems they had earlier with the greens has largely corrected. I would rate the greens 8/10. I always enjoy playing here.
