Hidden Creek Golf Club
About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways. The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Greens in great shape. Solid Muni Track
Good municipal track for the price.
Greens were in really good shape.
Fairways were good, with a few flooded from recent rains.
Some funky holes force interesting club selections, but overall a good place for the money.
Greens are Nice, Course is Continuing to Get Better
Most of the greens are in really good shape, and you can tell they have been putting in some effort to get the course in shape with the new sod laid on holes 1 and 10. Overall the layout was fun, greens are in good shape, and the price is good for what you get. Pace of play can get a little backed up on Saturday and Sunday early afternoon/midday but it's great if you tee off super early! Glad to see them putting some money into this course, hope improvement continues and additional holes that could use some TLC are given some attention.
Pace of play
The pace was extremely slow. By the end of the round there were 6 carts on 17 tee box while we were on 18 tee box. The 4 some that we followed throughout the round was giving lessons
Not bad for the money
Cost is reasonable for course. Fairways hard, cost saving lack of watering probably, numerous bare areas in periphery of some fairways that doesn’t come into play unless you can’t keep it in play. Greens are fine even with a little Poa Anna. Clientele is run of the mill with only mild lack of etiquette
The course was in decent condition
Some of the greens were in rough shape as well as the tee boxes. Need better monitoring of pace of play. There were 2 twosomes and a single player in front of our foursome that was holding up the pace.
What was i thinking playing on a weekend.
This is a fun challenging course. You can tell they are working on the course and hopefully the fairways will continue to improve.
Now the not so good. If you plan to play on a weekend pack a lunch and probably dinner. Its not uncommon to have a five hour round. Only wish the marshalls would help speed up play.
Great course
Overall the course is in great shape. Little bit of poanna on a couple greens but roll great. Few Tee boxes were pretty hard.
Very enjoyable and playable course
Pace of play
Pace of play was very slow. People in front of us were trying to give lessons when they also need to take lessons. No marshal to regulate the pace. GPS on cart showed we were 53 minutes behind pace of play as we had to wait on every tee box for the foursome in front of us. People also need to play from the appropriate tee boxes
Not bad for the price paid
Clean facility, friendly staff and a nice pros hop with plenty of options. Greens were in pretty good shape, Tee boxes could use some TLC and the cart paths have lots of drop off and could use some dirt or other maintenance on the boarders.
Casual Day Out
Love the layout of this course. Challenging from the back tees. Worth the drive.
Could be better
I get that it's February and we're playing, but the tee boxes are in rough shape as are the greens. Pace of play is too fast to enjoy the game. The cart paths need a lot of repair too. Range balls are scattered everywhere on the course. More par 3's than I expected. I picked up trash, alcohol bottles and beer cans all over the course, which tells me how the people that play here respect the course, or how little time employees have to care for it. Burleson must have capital to improve this course.
