About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways. The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Golfer Reviews
One complaint
I am highly annoyed by the sudden stops caused by the GPS. Forcing a backing up causes delays a stress. There should be an aural warning when approaching these areas not just kill the power to forward movement.
Worst pace of play
Customer service was very good. Young man at the front desk was kind and friendly
Pace of play is horrible. Have been 3 times and it’s always very slow.
Close to house
I run out to hidden creek when I need a quick round or playing alone. This course sand traps are better than most public courses around still have a little work by adding more sand and no rocks. Fairways most part are good the grass is a little taller than I prefer but we are hot and trying not to loss them greens are good and again a little longer a little slow but are in better shape than most public courses around still. Tee box’s needs a little work some are so hard you can’t get a tee in the ground like #12 but for the price and friendly staff can’t beat it in this area.
Thumbs 👍🏻
Local Muni
It’s what you think… slower round bit decent pace overall. Lots of issues in the fairway with the conditions and it just being dirt. Greens were a good surprise, rolled true overall, a little slow but not bad. Couple quirky holes that aren’t the best design. But, if you want a reasonably priced round, not too bad.
Great day golfing
Other than the weather issues, the carts were not the greatest. I had steering and break locking issues, but they let me switch out at the turn for a better cart.
The course was wet from the recent rain and we were cart path only, understandable. Greens were in good shape, again due to wet conditions they had not been cut close that day. Fairways were nice but the rough seemed a little in insistent.
All in all, a nice, reasonably prices round of golf with friends!-)
Pretty good!
Greens were great, fairways were pretty good, although with all the rain the mowers could not get out that day
Good for July in Texas
Course was overall in great shape, even though it was almost 100 degrees lately. Tee boxes were too hard and they need more water stations.
Tee boxes
Tee boxes were rock hard. At least 9 holes I could not tee up properly.
Hidden Creek Golf Course
One problem was the ladies tee boxes. You couldn’t get tee to go into the ground because the gtound was soooooo HARD. Need to water them so they are softer.
The other problem I noticed was how rough the ground was along the cart paths. Some gravel would help solve that.
But I think Ithaca great course for me.
Greens in great shape
Nearly perfect greens. Best in the area right now!
Greens in great shape. Solid Muni Track
Good municipal track for the price.
Greens were in really good shape.
Fairways were good, with a few flooded from recent rains.
Some funky holes force interesting club selections, but overall a good place for the money.
Greens are Nice, Course is Continuing to Get Better
Most of the greens are in really good shape, and you can tell they have been putting in some effort to get the course in shape with the new sod laid on holes 1 and 10. Overall the layout was fun, greens are in good shape, and the price is good for what you get. Pace of play can get a little backed up on Saturday and Sunday early afternoon/midday but it's great if you tee off super early! Glad to see them putting some money into this course, hope improvement continues and additional holes that could use some TLC are given some attention.
Pace of play
The pace was extremely slow. By the end of the round there were 6 carts on 17 tee box while we were on 18 tee box. The 4 some that we followed throughout the round was giving lessons
