One of my favorites
We play all over the Metroplex and surrounding area and this is one of our favorite courses. Challenging layout kept in great condition and drains well. Set along Lake Pat Cleburne, wind is usually a factor. Staff is as friendly and helpful as can be and the burgers are some of the best in the entire area.
Nice links course
Cleburne Links is a great course for the money. Not too long or difficult
Golfing Son
I played with my son this time - he's 9 yrs old. If you haven't played here, the course, though a public municipal city course - is lovely. Scenery is spectacular with the lake and wildlife. A gem. The course is usually in above average shape, and was today as well. The course does have silver tees designed for youth players, though my son says they are too close and wouldn't play them - he played the red tees and shot 98. I played black and shot 71 - but I only birdied the 5 pars. Tough to putt these greens. I like the course a lot, playable for many talent levels - the clubhouse is on the newer side and the food is OK. If you spray the ball here - youll need several balls.
This is a very fair course for all golfers
I enjoy playing this course. It is one of my favorite courses in this area.
Fun Round
This is ALWAYS a fun course to play. The layout offers a chance to score well, but there are also some challenging holes that keep it interesting, especially when the wind is howling off the lake. The fairways and greens have been in awesome shape every time I have played - even during the heat of the Summer. Also, the hype around the burgers, and grill in general, are real. One of the best burgers out there, and a perfect way to cap off 18 holes.
Very Good Course
We use this course as our home course but play several other courses in the area. Cleburne has done a great job this year improving the course conditions even during this heat wave. Great pace of play and conditions are in good to very good shape. Come and enjoy a scenic round and catch a great burger when done. Thanks to the staff for working hard and improving the course.
The course in great shape
I like the course because the weather makes different each time you play
2 issues
First, let me say my group loves the course, and of course the hamburgers. But we have 2 complaints.
- Stop allowing 5-somes on weekends. We played yesterday and had to wait over 20 minutes on the 5th tee box alone. There were 3 5-somes in a row a few holes ahead of us, and just slowed things down to a crawl. Literally, if that was the first time we played there, we would never go back.
- Keep the grill open past 4:00. You have the best hamburgers I've ever had, and we plan our rounds around eating one. But why can't you keep the grill open past 4? Whatever extra payroll costs you incur would easily be offset by added income. I just don't get it.
Great views of lake Cleburne
Over all a very nice coarse for the money. Great practice area and friendly staff.
Fairways are wide, but are lined with weeds/grass
This course is great. But, there are weeds on both sides of the fairways that are filled with poison Ivy and Oak and to watch your ball roll into this mess makes it impossible to try to find the ball. I will not walk into 3 feet of grass to locate a darn golf ball only to get so sick that I can't play for weeks because of the poison weeds.
Sorry, it a great course, but we can't take the risk. My husband lost 2 months of play last summer from the weeks poison.
Course is a little out of the way for me, but it’s a good value. Situated next to lake, which is a good backdrop for the course.
Was able play round in about 3 hours, staff very friendly, course could use some watering!
good pace of play
Greens were OK. Fairways were terrible. Hard to find a piece of grass when your drive is in the middle of the fairway.
I'm sorry that you found yourself hitting balls into our native habitat. Both sides of our fairways are lined with a cut of rough and sometimes two cuts of rough. Shots have to stray pretty far off the beaten path to find our native habitat (haha). But, I have good news. Our course is not a very long one, and I would advise taking less club to aid in hitting the fairway. Considering the relatively short length or our course and the generous fairways.... our only defense is wind, native habitat, and a little water. If you have any questions or need some advice on playing our course feel free to call the pro shop anytime. Thank you for playing our course, and we hope to see you again soon.... in the short grass!
