Beautiful property Photo submitted by u4481419 on 07/27/2019
Terrible pace, twosome almost took 5 hrs
Fairways and greens are fine if the staff could just properly push the pace for those trying to enjoy a 4 HR round
Great conditions
We teed off @ 7:00 AM(first group off). The clubhouse staff was very friendly & appreciated our business. The course was plush. The rough was thick but the fairways were forgiving. Greens were tough to read but they rolled good. We played at the Golfnow rate & we felt like our round was a steal of a deal. BWe played in 3 hours & 15 minutes. I am looking forward to playing again.
The course is well kept.
Their have been some changes in course layout that I thought were better, I enjoyed my round and will be back.
Play this course...
Thoroughly enjoyed this course. I have only lived in the DFW area for the last 5 months and have played a 15 or so different courses...this course by far had the most challenging greens of any course in the metroplex. There is no flat areas on any of the greens and my only birdie came from 5 inches. Several tight driving holes and a couple that took driver out of your hand to play strategically.
Course was in great shape and the staff genuinely seemed to want us to come back again...which we will. My only negative was the pace of play which was about 5 hours and the clubhouse fare limited but a good value.
Staff
The worst experienced I ever had with their staff. I bought a 6 pk of beer before our round. I had my own cooler because I brought water bottles from home, it was 102 that day. Well, afer we finish the front 9, we ask for some ice in my buddy was told he had to pay $3 for ice. That's crazy , but he pay for it anyway in we drove next tee box. A staff member followed us to the tee box to search our coolers, they wanted to ensure we only had beers they sell in moved on. We finish playing the 10th hole and drove to 11th tee box and another staff came in confiscated the remaining beers we had left. Those same beers I paid before my round. They ruin the first 3 holes on my round in the back 9. It's said that a staff can treat you like that. The course is awesome and I had my best round ever. My group will never play there again.
Painted Greens
This was my first time playing this course. Overall the experience was very good. Unfortunately there was no cart girl that day and only 2 water stops that I noticed. At a distance the greens looked beautiful but up close you could see that the grass was painted dark green. Rough was deep but fairways were cut nicely. I will play this course again. It's a good value for the money.
Mr. josephforgione,
Thank you for you review, I'm glad you enjoyed the value for the money. I apologize there was no on course beverage cart that day. Water coolers are placed on holes #3, #5, #7, #12, #14, and #16 between the previous green and tee boxes. We will do better informing our customer of their locations as the Texas heat continues to bear down on us! The "paint" you referred to on the green is actually a blue/green die indicator that our spray technicians use when applying chemicals. This helps them be more efficient and see exactly where they have already sprayed. I hope this helps to answer a few of your concerns you had and we can't wait to have you back at Hawks Creek,

Nice layout
The layout of the course was very fun. Some short holes that you need to be in the right position. There were some bad spots on few greens but all in all the course was in good shape. Rough was real thick with all the rain we have received lately. Will be back in the future
Mr. Brian4064571. I'm so happy to see you enjoyed the course layout. We really pride ourselves on those risk/reward opportunities you touched on. Our maintenance crew is working diligently to recover the couple bad spots on a few greens you noticed. Best wishes and happy hitting!

Dissappointed
Went today to play, and when we arrived the MOD said that the greens had been aerated on Monday but were been rolled and watered daily and were putting great "WRONG" the greens were very very sandy and irregular, and the fairways were also punched and rough. We asked for a rain check after nine so we could wait a couple of weeks and come back when the greens had healed, but they said absolutely NO..Had they told me the truth about the actual condition, we would have gone somewhere else..
"I apologize for the inconvenience today. It is our intention that everyone enjoys their round of golf at Hawks Creek. We also try to notify all of our customers of our maintenance practices as often as possible. Our maintenance crew has worked vigorously to roll and sand the greens following our aerification. Sand is essential at this stage of the process, otherwise they would be unplayable for over a month. The sand is actually best known to smooth putting surfaces replacing divots and in this case aerification holes with level ground. Please do not let one experience right or wrong misguide your perception of this great piece of property.
Best wishes,

Very nice course
Golf course in great condition
a first time for everything
Thumbs down unfortunately, during my foursomes round we were asked to pay an additional $15 on hole #14? Why you ask, because I was a single joining a threesome and was in a cart all to myself. At check in they told me to grab any cart and wait to be paged to hole #1. Our group was enjoying ourselves during the round till a Marshall came up to our group on hole #14 mind you and told us we had to pay an extra $15 because we had three carts between us. This is something that should have been told to us prior to our round not on the course during play. I've never been approached on the course during a round for more money or ever heard of such a thing. Shame on the staff for interrupting a great day of golf for an extra $15.
Growing in.......
This track is close to my casa so I wind up playing it a lot. It is getting better, as in, it is growing in for spring and summer......but still not in the great shape it was in last year!
Polar opposite 9 holes
Played for the first time in about 8 years. Front 9 is tight, tree lined, with small greens. Back 9 is open, windswept, with larger greens. No planes flying at the JRB, which was a small disappointment for me. Great mini-verde greens, but not as fast as they look. Couple holes on the front 9 where you find yourself almost hitting over or around other golfers on other holes. Paired with a cool group of three others and we had a great time. Back 9 is a bombers paradise - 300+ hitters can take their shot at driving par 4's downwind.
Nice course
Overall this is a nice golf course. The fact that they decide to rope off most of the holes for no apparent reason is a bit irritating. Makes having a cart only partially worth the effort. The layout isn't overalls challenging especially if you have played the course before. It's worth playing again, but I wouldn't pay full price.
Hawks Creek
Fun course to play. Not real long but you have to pay attention or you'll be in trouble.
Good course. Nice staff.
We went and played this course on Valentine's day. Course was well kept and looked good for this time of year. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back again.
Hawks with son
Greens are fast and roll true. Fairways are dormant as most courses are this time of year.
Good
Everything staff, courses, cart, are good. But too far from my house.
Course in good shape for winter time !
Course was in good shape ! It's a challenging course . Lots of water hazards and large bunkers make accuracy a must . Will play this course again !
plays challenging yet fair
Course was in great shape. Greens were challenging but rolled true. I'll be back.
Love the jets
I live out of state and Hawk's Creek was recommended to me as an experience, since it is located next to an air force base, and as a good course. I was not disappointed. During the entire round the roar of the fighter jets taking off was cool. Temperature was about 70 and it was mid December so weather was great. Course was in decent condition, considering the time of year. I will definitely go back when I have the opportunity.
Mr. Kyle7412318,
First off, I'd love to thank you for coming to play Hawks Creek Golf Club. I believe you've played here a few times over the past couple years and we enjoy having you. As we are aware, you round finished in about 4 hours and 45 minutes with over 75 golfers teeing off in threesomes and foursomes ahead of you. Our advertised pace of play is 4 hours and 20 minutes however we have been averaging 4 hours and 40 minutes on busy Saturday mornings. I'm sorry you did not feel that our efforts to manage the pace of play were adequate and we will attempt to better ourselves in every way possible to give all of our guests an enjoyable experience. We sincerely hope that you choose to play Hawks Creek again and have a wonderful week.
Sincerely,
Hawks Creek Management
