The Club at Rebecca Creek
About
Located at the heart of the Texas Hill Country, the Course at the Club at Rebecca Creek sprawls across gently rolling terrain dappled with mature oak trees. The golf course has had several different iterations over the years, it was formerly known as Rebecca Creek and until 2013 it was the Hawk at Rebecca Creek. There were several green and fairway improvements before it reopened under its new name. The course stretches to over 7,000 yards from the back tees and there are some tough holes but overall it's a golf course that players of all skill levels will enjoy. Trees line the fairways and there are some subtle but tricky changes in elevation. In addition to the course, there is also a driving range and practice green available.

Pleasently Surprised
Signen up with GolfNow to to Rebecca Creek, knew the course is in the process of rebuilding and trying to reestablish itself. Fairways were well maintained but very firm even with all the past rain. Tee box's need some rebuilding. 5 of the greens were in dire need of grass, Vandels were the cause of one that had tire tracks dug into it. This course is a year or so away for being a regular play course. Was not over crowded pace of play was spot on. Overall had a fun time. Oh and there are no bunkers on the course so leave the sand wedge in the trunk...
Great layout, course was in awful condition.
Haven't played here in 10 years and it will be another 10 before We return. (3) Greens were completely un-playable. Most tee boxes were awful, not a big deal, since the ball was teed up. Fairways were decent, if your ball managed to miss one of the aerated holes.
Good value, but terrible greens.
I paid $33.00 on a Saturday morning. That's hard to beat!
If the course had charged typical area rates ($50-80 on weekends) I think I would have been very unhappy.
Something needs to be done about the condition of the greens. They are rock hard, and way too fast. Some have been recently punched, and that didn't slow them down. The real problem is the patches of dirt and sand on nearly every green. The 3rd hole is probably 50% dirt patch! It's unacceptable, especially early in the morning when the ground is wet. I don't ever want to hit the green and have a ball full of mud!
The tee boxes and first and second cuts of rough are in very poor shape as well. The course could benefit from some serious maintenance. If that were to happen this place would be great!
The fairways are in good shape, but when I played the ground was rock hard, so you need to play accordingly.
Overall the course is nicely laid out. Lots of trees force you to hit straight and smart shots. There are plenty of holes that long and shorter hitters can enjoy. Strange that there are no bunkers or water hazards.
The staff is extremely friendly, and the marshal does a good job of keeping pace. The carts are quick and electric (no rickety gas powered carts like some other courses in SA.) No GPS, but plenty of yardage markers. A rangefinder is recommended.
I'll be going back
GolfNow
Got there about 45-minutes early, older gentleman told us we couldn't check-in until 15-minutes from our tee time. Told us we could grab something from grill or hit practice balls. We decided to hit practice balls but he wouldn't let us grab a cart and get loaded up and drive to the range. Made us feel like we weren't appreciated. Regardless of the terms of GolfNow , Hot Deals etc., if the course doesn't want to advertise then don't sign up for GolfNow!!!
Ended up being a decent round with the exception of our "reception". Several greens are rough but the layout is rewarding as it winds through the hill country and the food is great at the grill
This course is much improved.
I played this course once 5 years ago and there is much improvement. The group they have now has worked very hard on this course and it shows. Staff was friendly. Pace of play was great. Greens rolled true. Fairways in good shape. I will come back and play here again.
Great value
This was the first time I have played this course. Overall I was very pleased with the golf. The staff was very friendly and helpful (Chuck and Fidelos) They have carts that are in outstanding condition or you could walk the course which would be fairly easy. There are no bunkers or water on the course. My understanding is that this course was abandoned and then renovated after years of neglect. There are several problems. The green on hole 12 is in horrible shape it looks like fungus I believe it needs lots of work (two putt hole) the green on number 1 has been vandalized by some idiot doing donuts on the green. Other than that the greens are in good shape but a little slow when I played them. A couple fairways had bare patches but playable. Overall it was a very nice day of golf.I recommend it and for the price it is very reasonable.
Hill Country Gem
I have been waiting to golf here, and I thought it was worth the wait. Troy Shaver the GM was there and we spoke before I went out to the course. He is working hard to get people back and it sounds to me and looks to me that he is doing it the right way. I have been out twice this year and have not been disappointed. The pace of play was been spectacular and the value is the best compared to any other course with in a 25 mile radius. The course is pretty open for the most part but still presents some challenges on if you want to choose between risk and reward. There is enough room on the range if you want to get a warm up bucket in before heading out. Fairways were in good shape for winter and the greens were rolling very well. Well enough of me to make several from 15 feet out. The few staff that they do have are very friendly and feel like I have been going here for years. I come form the Northwest and this is the closet I have found to my old home course. I will continue to golf here and bring others with me. If you don't want to play on a overbooked course( well at least for now) think about going here and forget what you heard about it and have read about it . Give it another go.
Much Improved
The course is really shaping up after a brief time of inactivity. New owners have done a good job of bringing the course back. Still 2 greens were under repair but should be great after they are in operation. Water woes seem to be a thing of the past so if the course stays green, its a good value and a great escape from the city. Nice pool and semi-rustic clubhouse. Staff was exceptional!
terrible terrible golf course
their service and attitude is pathetic!terrible; went to play and had called Saturday afternoon and Thomas told me the price would be $22 for twilight and when I got there he said it was $31. so he lied and then wouldn't make any attempt to cooperate with me on the greens fees since I hadn't brought enough cash with me and they wouldn't take my American express card. I told him he had just told me $22 on the phone just an hour before I got there, but when I arrived, and was short on the cash, ( because of them not taking the credit card), he acted like he could care less about working it out with me and just plainly said he couldn't sacrifice that extra $6 even though it was 4:30 and nobody else was hardly on the golf course! You would have at least thought they could maybe give me a 9 hole rate or have me pay the difference the next time I came out! But nothing!
I've played there quite a bit in the past and golf course is terrible, but, since I hardly ever do play, it doesn't matter that much to me and I realize what it's going to be like before I get there.
on it's best day, it's never worth even $31 to play there.
go a little further if need be,and play Lakeside, which is a much better course and really decent people for even a lesser price!
terrible golf course
called the golf course to find out the twilight rate on sunday afternoon and Thomas told me it was $22, so I went out and got there around 4 pm. .I went to pay and Thomas told me that they didn't take american express credit cards, which is all I had with me, so, I went back to my vehicle and happened to have $25 in cash (I was luck because I normally don't carry hardly any cash) and went back in to pay him and he said sorry, but it's $31 with tax. I told him he said it was $22 when I had just called a short time ago and that $25 was all I had. He said, too bad, I'm sure I didn't say that and I can't let you play for $25. Needless to say, I was mad! They had lied and even at 4 pm couldn't give in and let me play for the $25? There was hardly anybody on the whole golf course and the course isn't worth paying $31 to play at any time. I've played golf for almost 50 years and the course is on the very low end of being at all close to a decent golf course. It's always in terrible shape and has closed up and reopened numerous times. I would never play this course again and would not recommend it to anyone at all!
Needs a lot of work
This course will not be ready to play for at least two years. There is no grass on the fairways, only crabgrass. The greens are bumpy, the tee boxes are horrible. I was told that the reason there were two temporary greens was that an irrigation system was either being installed or improved, but there was no indication of either. The fairways were dry and hard, so the all rolled a long way. Shortened up the course.
Not Yet.!
Fairways where terrible very little grass, Greens where ob some had grass and others were under construction.I guess there trying to bring it back got a long way too go.
Not yet ready
Played here for the first time since the club reopened. While there were 2 temp greens, it was the overall condition of the course which tells me that this place isn't ready for play. Even though we've had an abundance of rain in the last 2 months, you wouldn't know it. Greens in very weak condition, fairways barely existant, tee boxes non existant. I've played this course for the last 15 years under various ownership, and can positively say the course has never been so dry, and in bad need of aerification and reliable irrigation.
Much improvement needed in all facets of course condition before this place is ready for play. I wish them well, and pulling for them to succeed.
Needs water
The dry conditions result in rough, hard fairways...
Up-and-coming course
Overall, we liked the course. A couple greens were in bad shape; however, overall the course was decent. There weren't a lot of obstacles like sand traps and water; however, there were plenty of trees to absorb stray balls. We played 18 on a Monday and we were virtually the only ones out there. It's a very pretty course. We ate at the little grill. The food was surprisingly good - try the grilled chicken wraps. We plan to go back.
THIS COURSE IS GREAAT
THE PEOPLE WERE REALLY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL I ENJOYED PLAYING THER
Great Deal
Enjoyed new ownership and great price....$10 on golf now.
poor course
Nice setting for a course but someone should put a course instead of a cow pasture. The tee boxes did not have grass. Some of the greens were bare. The fairways were full of weeds and overall maintenance was poor
Rebecca Creek
The course is now called The Links at Rebecca Creek. I have played golf on this course since and during the previous 2 ownerhips. The current owner and management have done a very good job with recovering the condition of the course. Which is a lot considering it was not in good shape before it was closed down and left dormant for over a year. Greens are improving with only 2 of them being in rough shape. Tee boxes could use some seeding and I am sure being worked on sll the time. Goid course layout and switching holes 2 and 18 were a good idea. Facilities are the best condition I have ever seen them. I encourage Local area golfers to support this course as it will only get bettet.
Dried Up
The course was flat and very bare. The fairways were non-existent, dried up and very bumpy. I had no grass on most lies. It was still muddy from rain a week prior. That indicates that there's no grass on the course. Chip shots ran and ran on the dormant greens. They ran really quickly too because of the slopes on the surfaces. Almost unfair putting on about a third of the greens. Overall it was enjoyable, yet frustrating at times due to no shot from the sides of the greens.
