Vaaler Creek Golf Club

I had heard this was a great course with a great layout, and it did not disappoint. It’s a good example of a shot makers course , that also has some good holes to let the Driver fly. I look forward to the opportunity to play again soon!!

Was surprised to find this golfing gem in the Texas hill country. It’s a perfect balance of value and amenities, without feeling “stuffy.” It’s easily accessible for the average golfer, but the course is challenging.

On our particular round, they’d just sanded the greens, but in a couple weeks, those green will be fantastic. Lots of undulations and tricky pin placements. Some holes really make you think about which type of shot to hit.

Enjoyed it, and will be back.

Outstanding course. Great layout, great condition. Pro staff was amazing! I normally play at 5,000 yds and there’s either 4500 or 5700 for me tho chose from. Played with a member who lives on the course, so having a guide was nice. We played the shorter tees and had a blast. The finishing hole is really nice. Drove the green on 18, then managed to 3 putt for par, thats’s on me. I’m used to bentgrass greens so Bermuda greens take some getting used to. Big shout out to Jef (?) in the pro shop. He saved my bacon twice in one hour. Highly recommend this course, you won’t be sorry.

Great course and layout, Greens 7.5/10 only because they were a touch hairy/slow, otherwise they were in good shape. Fairways and rough were nice as well. Friendly staff, actually showed up late and started with my tee time group on 3, circled back when I finished and the marshal let me join in with a the 3some teeing off to play 1 & 2. Will definitely be back asap.

As a 10hdcp, I found this course to be the right amount of challenge with some doglegs requiring accurate, shaped drives. Some large trees in the middle of sloped fairways added to the challenge. Vaaler also offers some short par 4s and 5s to score on. Electric carts were speedy and well maintained. Greens rolled true and were in good shape as were the fairways. Some greens are extremely sloped. Sand was soft. Rough was short.

Tee boxes left a little to be desired because some were not level but not too bad.

We found it to be a very scenic, enjoyable course in hill country!

Great layout with a nice mix of challenging and playable holes, especially on the back nine. The course conditions were solid, with well-kept fairways and smooth greens. It offers a fair test for most skill levels without being overly punishing. Pace of play was slow, but the overall atmosphere made for an enjoyable round. Definitely a course worth playing again.

Great course!! Fairways are forgiving. Greens are tough!
