About
Royal American Links Golf Club pays homage to the birthplace of golf, the seaside links of Scotland, an inspiration that is also reflected in the architecture of the clubhouse. The 18-hole course was created in the traditional link-style but with added features not typical of the classic design including water coming into play on nearly every hole. There are also large, deep bunkers protect the sloping greens, many of which are double-tiered. Royal American Links Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 12th. Its green is guarded by a not only a large rock wall but also water to the front and left. There is a large bunker to the left of the green that will swallow any errant shots but players with a sharp short game will be able to manage.

So close
Sand traps need attention desperately. Players need to repair ball marks. This course could be no. One if these two problems could be corrected.And I realize that ball marks are the lazy A..holes that play the course

Sad sand traps & Tee boxes; blah. Fairways & greens, nice
Little to no sand in the bunkers. Not manicured at all. It’s like they have given up on them. Tee boxes not in the best condition. Fairways and greens were nice. For 60+ a round I would expect better.

Good, but not worth the cost
The tee boxes were really bad, but not as bad as the sand traps. For $69 a round, I expect at least some sand in the trap (even though I didnt land in one). The cart path condition is akin to a $35 round like Willow Run or Racoon Hill. The greens and fairways and rough were all nice.

Love the course, looked like staffing issues... not surprised right now
Sand traps were unusable pretty much everywhere but rain was heavy the week leading up to my visit. The bigger problem that did not effect us, was at about 12 1230 when my group was finishing the round there was a pile up waiting to tee off of at least 5 groups on hole 1. No starter/ranger to be seen during our visit which is my guess as to why this happened. I dont know of any business that doesnt have staffing issues so i dont hold it against you guys. I really enjoy the course either way and will be back.

Challenging
This course was challenging with all of the hazards around the greens. Was in great shape besides the tee boxes. Also gold and white tees were basically the same yardage so we eventually moved back to blues “normally playing whites”. Pace was fast outside of the last couple of holes. Only issue was waiting around for staff to check in and at the bar. Would recommend to others though. Have fun!

Beautiful, but challenging.
Everything was great about the course with two exceptions; most sand traps were unplayable and a few weeds. Other than that, beautiful fairways and greens. Very challenging greens with varying speeds. The clubhouse was nothing short of phenomenal. Would definitely go back!

Bad shape
$54 for mud traps and destroyed greens. Don't think I'll be headed back any time soon.

Nice layout and course conditions, but..
Layout was great. Fairways, rough, and Greens were in good shape. The sand traps were awful. Time to invest a little there.

Course was nice. Staff is really good.
Only complaint was the standing water. They have some drainage issues so if it rains the night before expect a lot of spongy fairways. Greens were great. Not a super long course but you better play smart and be accurate. Great staff and will go back again
