About
Royal American Links Golf Club pays homage to the birthplace of golf, the seaside links of Scotland, an inspiration that is also reflected in the architecture of the clubhouse. The 18-hole course was created in the traditional link-style but with added features not typical of the classic design including water coming into play on nearly every hole. There are also large, deep bunkers protect the sloping greens, many of which are double-tiered. Royal American Links Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 12th. Its green is guarded by a not only a large rock wall but also water to the front and left. There is a large bunker to the left of the green that will swallow any errant shots but players with a sharp short game will be able to manage.

Needs work
Tee boxes terrible, ball marks all over the greens. Bunkers basically dirt. Clubhouse is lacking maintenance, as is the parking lot and range. This course and clubhouse could be really really good with some time, money and effort. Don’t know if it’s lack of help however the greens feed haven’t come down so pay according to get this course back in shape. Will not return.

Great layout but in horrible condition
This course could be a gem. Maybe if they just tried adding sand and maintaining the sand traps. The tee box need some grass and TLC. The fairways were average and the greens were ok. I just can’t understand them letting the bunkers go. The place was full so they have to be bringing in some money. The pace of play was terrible at just about 5 hours due to a foursome that were old and couldn’t move fast. This could be a gem again some day.

How the Mighty Have Fallen
What a disappointment. I have played this course many times over the years. The range was a mess. The chipping green used to be excellent. It is now worthless.
The putting green was marginal at best.
The course was in horrible condition. The bunkers were unplayable. The tee boxes were basically unmaintained. Fringe around greens was overgrown with po. Like another New Era course I played recently, they did not have enough carts to accommodate the overcrowded course.
Considering how busy courses have been over the last two summers, they are clearly NOT reinvesting any money they are raking in into their properties.
Player beware. Not worth the amount they are charging.

I really like this layout and have played here a few times each of the past several years. Recent heavy rains have really soaked the course and have made most of the bunkers unplayable. The real issue is the number of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. Overwise, the greens would be very good.

Very disappointing. The condition of the course was worse than terrible. Tee boxes were a mess, bunkers full of water, standing water everywhere. Have played this course since it opened and this was the worse it’s ever been. Wonder if the owners are letting it go with the plan to develop the land.

Horrible Pace Stay Away from 18 after 3pm
Plays 9 on a 3 hour pace because they overbook. Horrible golf experience.

Staff is the only good thing about this place.
Bunkers are hardly bunkers, tee boxes completely ripped up. I was a solo and third tee time of the day. The first group was a group of 3 elderly gentlemen that took multiple mulligans 30 minutes on one par 4. When I decided to drive past them and to the hole in front they got mad but also refused to let me play through. Hopefully they’re saving their pennies this year to do a big Reno or something because the course was in horrible shape.

RAL at Sunrise
Pace of play was nuts today. Threesome in front of me was incredibly slow with carts and behind myself (solo) were two other singles playing incredibly fast.
Fairways were being mowed on most holes mid round. Two pins were being changed while I waited on the tees.
Super distracting day but the course other than the tee boxes was in good condition.
Always a fun track.
Overbooked
Course was overbooked, three groups waiting at each tee. It had rained three days before and there were still massive puddles preceding the greens with no warning at check in or signs.
