About
Royal American Links Golf Club pays homage to the birthplace of golf, the seaside links of Scotland, an inspiration that is also reflected in the architecture of the clubhouse. The 18-hole course was created in the traditional link-style but with added features not typical of the classic design including water coming into play on nearly every hole. There are also large, deep bunkers protect the sloping greens, many of which are double-tiered. Royal American Links Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 12th. Its green is guarded by a not only a large rock wall but also water to the front and left. There is a large bunker to the left of the green that will swallow any errant shots but players with a sharp short game will be able to manage.

Royal American
I really like this layout and have played here a few times each of the past several years. Recent heavy rains have really soaked the course and have made most of the bunkers unplayable. The real issue is the number of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. Overwise, the greens would be very good.

Royal Amaerican
Very disappointing. The condition of the course was worse than terrible. Tee boxes were a mess, bunkers full of water, standing water everywhere. Have played this course since it opened and this was the worse it’s ever been. Wonder if the owners are letting it go with the plan to develop the land.

Horrible Pace Stay Away from 18 after 3pm
Plays 9 on a 3 hour pace because they overbook. Horrible golf experience.

Staff is the only good thing about this place.
Bunkers are hardly bunkers, tee boxes completely ripped up. I was a solo and third tee time of the day. The first group was a group of 3 elderly gentlemen that took multiple mulligans 30 minutes on one par 4. When I decided to drive past them and to the hole in front they got mad but also refused to let me play through. Hopefully they’re saving their pennies this year to do a big Reno or something because the course was in horrible shape.

RAL at Sunrise
Pace of play was nuts today. Threesome in front of me was incredibly slow with carts and behind myself (solo) were two other singles playing incredibly fast.
Fairways were being mowed on most holes mid round. Two pins were being changed while I waited on the tees.
Super distracting day but the course other than the tee boxes was in good condition.
Always a fun track.
Overbooked
Course was overbooked, three groups waiting at each tee. It had rained three days before and there were still massive puddles preceding the greens with no warning at check in or signs.

Typical New Era course
Sand traps were embarrassing, water in some, dirt in a lot of others, found one that actually had sand in it! Fairways were nice, greens had a lot of divot issues, tee boxes were ok. Just an average course that used to be much nicer.

Please save the greens
The greens need help immediately. Been about 9 years since I’ve been there. Ball marks allllll over the greens. Sand traps not very good. 31$ for 9 was a little expensive. Has potential

Sand traps need attention desperately. Players need to repair ball marks. This course could be no. One if these two problems could be corrected.And I realize that ball marks are the lazy A..holes that play the course

Sad sand traps & Tee boxes; blah. Fairways & greens, nice
Little to no sand in the bunkers. Not manicured at all. It’s like they have given up on them. Tee boxes not in the best condition. Fairways and greens were nice. For 60+ a round I would expect better.

Good, but not worth the cost
The tee boxes were really bad, but not as bad as the sand traps. For $69 a round, I expect at least some sand in the trap (even though I didnt land in one). The cart path condition is akin to a $35 round like Willow Run or Racoon Hill. The greens and fairways and rough were all nice.
