Royal American Links Golf Club
About
Royal American Links Golf Club pays homage to the birthplace of golf, the seaside links of Scotland, an inspiration that is also reflected in the architecture of the clubhouse. The 18-hole course was created in the traditional link-style but with added features not typical of the classic design including water coming into play on nearly every hole. There are also large, deep bunkers protect the sloping greens, many of which are double-tiered. Royal American Links Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 12th. Its green is guarded by a not only a large rock wall but also water to the front and left. There is a large bunker to the left of the green that will swallow any errant shots but players with a sharp short game will be able to manage.

the coarse was great but the guy in the clubhouse was a jerk
nice coarse guy at the clubhouse was a jerk.Played quickly people let us play through
found course through Golf Now.
I only just started playing this course a few weeks ago .I found it through Golf Now and I am loving this course. You cant beat the price you get with Golf Now . The course itself is great for me Im a fourth year golfer and I find the course challenging but not intimidating. I will be back for sure.
Well worth playing
This was my first time here, and I enjoyed the course very much. The course was crowded, so the pace of play was slow, but not unreasonable. Everything's well maintained, and it's challenging enough to be fun. I wouldn't hesitate to play again.
The course has playability
Course in good condition! Nice and tricky holes. Will play again!,
Nice Course, but the staff needs to change
I booked a Friday afternoon time as a single. Pro shop was clueless on who and when everyone was teeing off. There was no starter. Very confusing. I teed off alone ahead of a huge group of guys. I paired up with a threesome who caught up to me because the twosome in front of me didn't let me play through. When my group finished #9, the pro shop let another 4some of slow old men cut in front of us on 10. The back 9 took 45 minutes longer because of this. Bottom line, the course is fun to play, but the pro shop staff showed no effort in controlling the crowd and pace of play. The staff really turned me off from playing here again.
Great course, but far drive.
This is a great course that I really enjoy the 1-2 times I play it per year. It is in great shape, challenging, but not over the top for the average golfer, a good mix of water and trees throughout, and a good amount of drinking water throughout the course. Staff was really friendly, as well as the patrons. My buddy and I played 18 in about 3 hr and 15 minutes, with groups letting us pass on 2 different occasions. One downside is the drive from Columbus is pretty far. I would play there much more often if it was closer, but the rate would probably be 50% higher if it was...highly recommend, particularly if you are playing on a vacation day on weekday.
Excellent value
Course in very good condition except for two fairways being aerated. Staff cordial and friendly.
Wonderfully maintained with lots of challenges.
This course is very challenging to hit your shots to the correct spots. Lots of water, which can snick up on you, make course management a must. Greens ran true and were large enough to get on in regulation.
I will definitely play this course again. It was a real treat.
Great course. Well maintained greens, fair play.
This "upscale" course feel is not intimidating for the average golfer. If you are not a perfect "down the fairway" hitter there is enough leeway to make the course enjoyable. Great facilities - (clubhouse, course layout) and the course is one that I plan on playing again.
Royal American Golf Course
I really like the course itself. However, the pace of play was absurd. They have the tee times way too close together (8 minutes). We played on a Sunday and our group had to wait every shot. We had a two some on the 1st hole but joined the group ahead of us on the next hole. We were supposed to tee off at 4:12 but did not until 4:30. There was no ranger to be found either. This is the second time I've played here and it was the same way. I would recommend this course IF there was better pace of play. Again, beautiful course.
Nice course with some short but difficult holes
Course was in good shape and provides a challenge for golfers of all different skill levels. The bunkers are tough to get up and down from. I only have two complaints; first issue is there was a group of 5 in front of us and the pace of play was very slow at times and secondly I did not get my Golf Now discount so essentially I paid an extra $5.97 to play this course because of the on-line booking fee.
This course has a lot of great holes.
Course was in great shape, friendly staff. Course can be hard to find if you are not familiar with the area.
Overrated
Course is in good shape…. Friendly staff. Bunkers are some of the best maintained around. My only complaints are: 1. Layout isn’t the greatest. There are a few holes that are pedestrian. B. Need a beverage cart on the course. C. I’m not a fan of moving the tees way up on the weekends…. It changes the layout. And integrity of the course. D. yardage is a guess even on the par 3, as there are very few markers.
Great challenges await
If this excellent course had a marshal to teach players that they only rent golf courses at 15 minutes a hole maximum, we would all have a much better time. My playing partner had a tap in eagle on the first par 5 on the back nine, over 500 yards.
love the course. if it was $10 cheaper would play more often
course was in great shape considering it has rain for almost 2 weeks
nice layout
Course was in good shape for as much rain as we have had. Greens were slightly fast. Pace of play was about 3.5 hours.
A challenging fun course
The course had just experienced heavy rains and the traps were unplayable. Otherwise, it was mown and the greens were in good shape. Nice layout and 4 sets of tees that make it playable for everyone. Very enjoyable.
Decent course
Decent layout and it's in pretty good shape. I wouldn't pay full price to playhere, but it was well worth $30 on a Saturday AM through golfnow.
This course has a lot of character
Course is great, it's one of the better courses in the city but the price has jump up big time and not only don't I want to pay that much I just don't think the course is worth it.
Course was in great shape
Had to follow an outing that had gone off earlier in the day, so pace of play was slower than normal during the week, but not to the point you wanted to quit and go home. I love to play this course at least once a year.
