Raccoon Valley Golf Course
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2024.
Raccoon Valley Golf Course (formerly known as Raccoon International Golf Club) sprawls across gently rolling woodlands, featuring scenic vistas of the surrounding countryside. The course is known for being home to the longest par 5 in the state, the notorious 17th hole. This treacherous hole measures in at a devilish 666 yards that will challenge even the longest hitters. Although the terrain is mostly flat and open, there are some surprisingly dramatic undulations in the greens that will cause tricky uneven lies. There are several lakes that come into play throughout as well as a number of strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the penultimate hole, notable holes at Raccoon Valley include the par-4 eighth, which requires a 220-yard carry, and the 11th, a par 3 that plays over a lake to a two-tiered green guarded by a bunker.

Raccoon Int. GC
First time playing this course. Me and my buddy had a 9:15 tee time so we showed up at 8:15 so we could get ready and hit range before our start. Walked up to the side window where it said to check in and the guy who was at the window was sort of awkward. I asked if we could hit range and he muttered something Under his breath and shook his head so I took that as a “no”. This made showing up early a waste of time. But honestly, the course was one of the best I’ve played in Licking County. Great layout with a fair amount of obstructions. Was really impressed with how dry it was being early spring, only soggy spots were in the really low areas. Greens were fast and fairways were kept well.
Vivid golf
Love the layout. Challenging and fair course. Will play it often.
Fun Course
Excellent course for the Money you pay. The layout is good and really does have some great holes that sit you a little more elevated than the green; fun and unique. While the scenery is beautiful Racoon lacks in some upkeep on it's greens and the sign diagrams at each hole thus making you look at the map on the score card. But where the course lacks in some upkeep the staff makes up for it, they are very kind and helpful. Overall Racoon is a great course to play and I always look forward to playing there.
Great course
The playing conditions were great, the greens are healing from aeration but are at the point where they are putting true. Each hole is unique and has character, it makes the player think, but is a fair test. Go play this course, you will enjoy it.
Great Course
Great course. Challenging and fun.
Complete trash!
Have played here plenty of times but this is the first since April and it will be the last! Complete trash of a course. No grass. Greens are horrible. Should just close down and become farm land.
Poorest excuse for a golf course I’ve ever played.
Course looks like it has been forgotten about for the entire year. No fairways, tee boxes have very little grass, and the bunkers have turned into grassy/weeded bowls. Biggest waste of money to ever play 18 holes.
Outstanding layout
Enjoyable game of golf on this course. It has a challenge for golfers of all skill levels. It’s nice to play a round of golf with no houses on it.
Great Greens
First time out on the track and was pleasantly surprised. Some of the best greens I’ve been on this season and that includes tracks like Kinsale, SR and York. The design is pretty easy and straight forward. Keep in mind this is a municipal course so condition isn’t perfect but was a lot of fun and the staff was outstanding!
Nice Course!!
This course is nice. I enjoyed my round. The course was well maintained and staff was super friendly. The pace of play was great. I was a single accompanied by my daughter. I was able to play through and play with a two-some to finish the round a few shots over par. This course is open yet, presents some challenges for the average golfers. I would recommend this course, I'm sure you will enjoy. The best part of my round was being greated by two stray calfs on hole 13's tee box. A rush, thrill, and awesome feeling all in one. My daughter and I really got a kick out of that and enjoyed the rest of our round.
Good Course
Reminds me of a course I would play back home in MD. Its cart paths are a little bumby there isnt a trash cans at each hole and the map signs are worn but it is a great course to play. Just a good bang for your buck course and the staff is always friendly
Great Golf Course
Beautiful layout, pace of play was great. Challenging due to wet conditions , it is Ohio. Friendliness of staff and players on the field.
I enjoyed an 18-hole round of Golf here.
The pace of play was good; two groups kindly allowed me to play through, for which I was politely grateful.
I didn’t see any restrooms on the Course and there was no food and/or drinks cart when I played.
Because it had rained previously, some parts of the Cart paths were in poor condition.
Overall, a nice Course where an average Golfer - a Pro can enjoy a decent round of Golf.
