About
Sawmill Creek Golf Resort & Spa sits along the banks of Lake Huron with Sarnia to the East and London just 45 minutes west. The course has a links-style layout that stretches to 6,782 yards from the back tees. Designed by Rene Muylaert, the creation of the golf course required over a million tons of earth to be moved to the site. It was then molded and shaped into rolling terrain that offers a tough but fair test. The namesake creek comes into play on 13 holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers that lurk beside the greens. There are some tricky holes but it's not overly punishing to the high handicapper. In addition to the golf course, Sawmill Creek also has a driving range available for warming up.

Sawmill in Great Shape
Greens are huge & awesome...... fairways are good enough to play Summer Rules; rough is thick & sand bunkers are well kept & consistent (only one was dirt -- maybe #16). I ask you to name a course with bigger greens than Sawmill, so a round without 3putts is good scoring. This day was perfect, not much wind, and nice pace-of-play @ mid-day. Resort still getting ready (Cedar Point bought last year), but play here before it gets crowded & more expensive. Thanx to GolfNow for the Hot Deals, and very enjoyable round @ Sawmill. I will speak the word ...and be back, need another try to make par5 on the Hallway Hole #12.

Sawmill Creek Golf Course in Great Shape
Course conditions are awesome @ Sawmill .......and 1st I have to applaud both the ProShop & GolfNow for the Hot Deals special. Once the resort gets back into form (purchased by Cedar Point a year or so ago), golf here will be a premium (price & availability). I love to play here a couple times a year. This day was a back9 start, so I had a chance to get the Hallway Hole #12 on the card early ----Hallway Hole for good reason with water on both sides of fairway for your second-shot landing zone. It was playing down-wind, I hit 2 good shots, but my 3rd comes up short on the fringe & 3-more strokes to make my par6 (it is actually par5, which Bogie is good for me). Sawmill has huge enormous greens, you won't find many courses with size of #10, 11, 8, etc ... & putting nicely. The sand bunkers are well kept & consistent (I was in 1 that was more dirt than sand, but I'm sure its on the short list for work); the tees are good, and the fairways are good enough to play Summer Rules. The clubhouse has been remodeled, the patio/deck looks good for viewing play on #9 across the pond. The golf mgr Abby can be contacted for outings & any future plans ........get to this course while you still can.

Sawmill Creek just prior to resort re-opening
first 11 holes were immaculate, then into the marshy area and due to the huge rains recently not quite as good. Challenging greens, nice wide fairways, deep rough. Carts are excellent! Service was excellent.

Sawmill making a comeback
Great course again and on its way for a comeback. Only recommendation would be to add a combo set of tees. Whites at 6300 too long and gold tees at 5700 too short. Just add a mixture to the card would be an easy fix.
Sawmill Cedar Point Golf Course
Can’t say enough good things about the course and friendly staff, great condition and beautiful lay out. Challenging with perfect greens.
Tough course
Course is very hard to score on greens are in great shape but fast and hard need a little water. Course seems to be getting better. My only complaint is cost of food at the turn 8 bucks for a hot dog which was not special in any way. Would play again.

The changes that the Ownership of Cedar Fair have brought are evident from the road,the new landscaped entrance to a new sign that speaks of a top notch golf course,the fairways are in great shape,the greens are FAST and they have just received NEW golf carts that look and ride like,well brand new carts! I am impressed with this course and the transformation of this course and it's still so early in the vision Cedar Fair has for the golf course and the Resort,I have played here for years,and it has NEVER looked better. BRAVO!!
A great course on the shore of Lake Erie
Sawmill Creek is a big course situated on Lake Erie. When the winds are from the north you can hear the roar of the waves. The greens are huge, undulating and can be very fast. It used to be a much more open course but now the trees have matured and there is a premium on accuracy off the tee. There are a few signature holes, most notably the par-3 7th and the par-5 number 12. This course will require you to hit most of the clubs in your bag. There are several tee boxes to suit any golfers abilities. It has been taken over by Cedar Point, a large corporation with deep pockets, so I'm assuming the course will get even better over time. I am blessed to live 5 minutes away!

Great course, gets wet quickly on back 9although they are working to improve this. Needs new or more sand in the bunkers.
