Lakeside/Meadows at Shaker Run Golf Club

About
Conveniently located less that 30 minutes from Cincinnati in the city of Lebanon, Shaker Run Golf Club offers 27 holes of championship golf. Arthur Hills designed the original 18-hole course in 1979 and the design team of Michael Hurzdan and Dana Fry added the Meadows nine 20 years later. Each nine has unique characteristics, providing three diverse 18-hole combinations when played together. The Lakeside/Meadows Course combines the nine with the most water, Lakeside naturally, and the longest nine. While it may be the lengthiest, Meadows is also the gentlest since it was added as a player-friendly complement to the other golf courses to make Shaker Run more approachable for a range of skill levels. The layout has a rolling landscape that is unique for an Ohio course, and in addition to the water there are also several strategically placed sand traps.

Super day
The course was in fair shape, but a lot of fun to play with good fairways and fair ruffs. The greens were a little ruff.
Fun and challenging course, I will be back!
I enjoyed my round at Shaker Run and will return to play again soon. I found the course to be in good condition and the holes were all unique and challenging. I loved the last hole Woodlands with two water hazards that influenced your first two shots on the hole. But there were many others like a short par four requiring an iron off the tee and a shorter par 5 that put placement at a premium.
Thanks so much for your review and the great rating! See you again soon, glad you loved the challenge!
Course conditions
Not the wonderful golf course it used to be. Greens were in good shape but fairways and tee boxes were rough.

Can you say Moss Creek?
This was once a prestigious golf course but not anymore.
I wouldn't waste my time to play here again!
We thank you for playing at Shaker Run and taking the time to review our course and the facility. We hope to see you again and we're working towards patching up anything we may have missed, thank you for letting us know!
Great fun. Lots of water
Lots of water challenges. Good course.
Great! Glad you loved the course and hazards. Come back soon!
tee time
had a 1:09 tee time. didn't tee off until 1:39. No f*$%ing starter at the tee box. turned 9 and the six pack of miller lites were warm.
Sorry to hear there was a delay on the starting hole we will let our staff know to address this so it doesn't happen again.
Loneliness
I played with a very slow player and was never pushed.
We're glad you liked the course, come out and see us again!
Bad shape
I know it is August BUT this IS Shaker Run. Fairways mostly were in horrible shape with lots of muddy spots. We had to play behind a group with 5 and they would not let us play through. (I was in a group of 3)
We regret to hear your round was slower than usual and conditions were not up to par during your round. Come back soon and let us know how we can make it a great experience!
Very nice course, exceptionally well maintained.
Beautiful layout, and incredibly good condition (particularly for the summer we've had in Ohio). Green were pretty quick. Nice pace, once we got started, never really had to wait on the group in front. Our group of 3 got caught be a group of 2 between the front and back nines, and we let them through. Other than that very smooth.
Only (very minor complaint) it was brutally hot, and only had cart service show up twice. (once on Lakeside and once on Meadows). Would've gladly bought more gatorade lol.
Thanks for letting us know we'll try to get the cart service make a few more rounds on the hotter days - glad you enjoyed your round!
A classic
We hadn't played Shaker Run for about 10 years, and returning reminded me why it is a classic course in the Cincinnati area. Great layout, plenty of challenge without being ridiculously long like some courses. Nice people. Great rate. You will use every club in your bag, as Shaker keeps you thinking and learning. Can't wait to play it again.
Awesome! We're so glad you enjoyed Shaker Run as you had before. Come back and see us again real soon!
disappointed
For a course that charges premium money I was disappointed in the conditions on the course The fairways were chopped up and not repaired, there were many bare spots on the fairways. The greens were in fair shape.
We'll let our staff and crew know and ensure the conditions are better for your next round with us. See you again soon!
Woodlands to Meadows
Woodlands was in nice shape. Greens were long and slower than prior times here. Meadows holes 4 thru 9 were kind of rough.
Thanks for playing at Shaker Run we're happy you came out for a round and enjoyed the Woodlands course. We can't wait to see you.
This course is a great value
Having three 9's helps keep the golfers spread out nicely
Excellent! Glad to hear it can't wait to see you again.
Great Round
I had played at Shaker last year, and the course was in pretty rough shape. Perhaps benefited by the rain, the greens were in decent shape (even if people didn't replace their ball marks), the fairways were lush, and the course was generally in much better condition. With the sun shining, it was all-in-all a very nice day of golf.
So glad to hear it! We're happy you enjoyed your round and the conditions and weather worked out nicely. See you soon!
Shaker Runb
While the course has improved its condition since I last played it 3 years ago, there were a significant amount of water albeit from the expected heat wave fro the next three days, The course in places was really soaked and 2 to 3 inches of water in the sand traps. Meadows have many sand traps with weeds growing in them and on the Woodside, too many ball marks on the green and a large number of divots in the fairway that golfers did not sand down. The layout is exceptional but it still needs a lot of work to get back to number 1 in the state of Ohio which it held for quite some time. Good luck!
Glad you loved the layout and the challenge! We appreciate your feedback and sorry to hear that the conditions may not have been up to par. We have informed our staff and crews on the matter and are working hard to rectify the situation and make this the best Shaker Run possible for your next round. Come back and see us again we look forward to your visit!

I don't think this course was ever #1 in Ohio.
Way too many weeds
Course layout is great! Unfortunately the weeds were the main attraction here. I couldn't tell you how many times I hit out of a patch of clover.
We finally saw the beverage cart on our FINAL hole. Drinking water was scarce as well.
I understand budgets come into play but this course used to be a gem. Now it's a cow pasture. Disappointing to say the least.
thank you for choosing to play Shaker Run! we greatly value your feedback and appreciate taking the time to send us a review! we are sorry to hear that your experience with us was anything but amazing. we would like to apologize for the course conditions and can assure you that we are working towards improving these problems. we hope that you will come back and give us another shot at exceeding your expectations of us!
sincerely,
Shaker Run GC Mgmt
A Beauty in Distress
This course was once the pride of the greater Cincinnati area. It was a gem designed by Arthur Hills. It was manicured to PGA Tour standards and the $125 price reflected that quality. Skip to today. The course is unrecognizeable from its hayday. The only areas cared for are the playing surfaces. It's so grown over even the signature par 3 has weeds so high the once beautiful par 3 is not even viewable from the tee boxes. This course is now used for beginner golfers and golf outings. It took 5 hours to play and there is no pace of play enforcement. Sad to see this past beauty in such dire condition.
We thank you for playing at Shaker Run and taking the time to review our course and the facility. We hope to see you again and we're working towards patching up anything we may have missed, thank you for letting us know!
A Real Classic
It had been almost 20 years since I last played this gem. The course was in great condition and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Ted Lambert and his team are to be congratulated on proving a great experience.
Awesome! So glad you loved the course and the staff and management made your round enjoyable. Come back again soon Doug!
great - awful
woolands was great, meadows was awful. pace was 5 hours
Glad you loved the Woodlands course, sorry to hear the Meadows course was not as fantastic and the pace of play slowed you down. We hope to see you again and we'll be addressing the pace of play issue at the golf course.
Nice course poor management
The course itself is pretty nice except the bunkers are trashed no sand mostly water rock and dirt. The range is very hit or miss if they have balls available no starter my tee time was 8:27 didn't finish till after 1
we appreciate your business and thank you for playing with us! we value your opinion and will use your feedback to improve upon your overall golfing experience with us! we hope that you will come back to play with us again soon!
Sincerely,
Shaker Run GC Management
Course still in rough condition
Despite my subject line if the course being in rough condition, I still had a blast as usual. The layout is fun and tough. Wish they would drain this course better. The meadows is an absolute disaster when it's rained even a few days ago. Sand traps are now mini ponds. Disappointing because this used to he a top notch course.
We hear you, and we are working hard to get the Meadows course back up to par. Come back and see us, we're really glad you enjoyed your round overall!
Thanks so much for playing at Shaker Run we will tend to the conditions thanks for letting us know!
