The Grizzly Golf & Social Lodge - Grizzly Course
About
The Grizzly Course is a collaboration between Jack Nicklaus and Desmond Muirhead. Since opening in 1972, this challenging layout has been host to numerous PGA, LPGA, and Senior PGA events. The golf course features long, curvy fairways lined with towering trees and there are strategically placed bunkers throughout. The three final holes feature water hazards, which are also accompanied by a difficult array of bunkers. It offers a fair amount of difficult holes but overall the course is playable for a range of skill levels, which is why it is an appealing layout for tournaments. In addition to the two courses, the Golf Center also boasts an 11,000-square foot putting green and an Academy Course with four championship holes.
Also known as The City of Mason Golf Center - Grizzly Course.

stacked up on fairway! #Grizzly Photo submitted by todski26 on 11/12/2012
It was fun
I enjoyed the course. The layout was enjoyable and it was in really good shape. The greens were tough but in great shape. I can not wait to play there again
Grizzly doesn't disappoint
very few courses around Cincinnati are as nice for the money. I have played this course several times and haven't had a bad experience yet. The fairways can be challenging because of the houses but not overly difficult to find off the tee. Water hazards and sand traps were strategically placed and in great shape. My only issue was I found many sand traps which some contained medium sized rocks, nothing you want to swing your club over. Water is hard to find here while playing I suggest bring at least 2 bottles of water with you. The guy that drives around the water came around on the 12th and as we finished up on 18 so load up on the turn. Staff was friendly and made delicious food at the turn. Course conditions were good, greens were well maintained. For the price it's a solid deal and I will keep going back.
Grizzly Course May 25th 2014
This used to be a nice course. It not terrible now but its not as nice as it used to be either. Everything around the property looks worn out. The greens, the fairways, the tee boxes etc. Bunkers are improved but this course has a ways to go if it ever gets back to what it once was. I likely will not return unless I hear things have turned around. Its a shame because this course has the potential to be one of the better ones in the Cincinnati area.
Grizzly
The course is in great condition, the sand traps are fluffy but have a lot of fairly large rocks in them. Be prepared to lose at least a couple of balls if your precision is not absolutely on...
Great Public Course
A fun and challenging course designed by the great Jack Nicklaus himself.
This course has great features
Course was clean, ranger was nice, suggested we replay a hole that a car honked on.
Kings Island Grizzly
Good course. Original holes have a Harbour Town feel. Tight fairways with overhanging trees, not terribly long.
Slow Pace Of Play
We played on a Thursday morning and it still took 4.5 hours to get around the course. We waited on every tee.
Going down hill
Course used to be nice as a lot of fun..... Now it is I. Terrible shape. Only hackers could say this course is in good condition
The course was differicult to fine yard markers 200, 150, 100 etc.
Enjoyed playing the course just had difficulty at times finding the yard markers for the distance to green.
Tee time scheduling
I was entertaining some out of town clients from Columbus. they were so far behind that we started a half hour after a tee time. The pace of play was so bad that my out-of-town guests could not even carry on to the back nine. I was very disappointed and how the tee times were scheduled, and felt cheated.
The Griz
Good to better course, challenging enough but not extreme....drop the kids at Kings Island and enjoy
Love this course
This course is great because it is challenging but high handicappers can play it. It is beautiful and has a great price point for the area.
Inconsiderate golfers
We palyed as a threesome and got behind groups on the front and back nine that were oblivious to etiqutte and pace of play. One groupo was sharing clubs and not playing ready golf. They would wait until one person would ht, drive over to their ball, take 6 or 7 practice swings, then hit. We notified the rangers and they couldn't care less. I won't be back, which is too bad because it's a pretty course ruined by inconsiderate people.
A little slow pace but overall great
First the bad. Course was slightly crowded and the fact that we were behind a pair of 15+ handicaps that were playing the tips. The good....great layout and a great challenge. Although not a long course this one demands accuracy off the tee. Many holes you're better off hitting 3 wood or a hybrid off the tee and leave yourself <150-175 for a second shot than to bomb driver every hole. If you can hit driver accurately you will score well. Greens were average at best as they hadn't fully recovered from aeration. Looking forward to playing our work league there this year as the greens improve. Great value through Golf now....go play.
This course is in excellent condition!!!!!
I've played this course 4 times this year and three times already this week, I just wanted to let everyone know the course is in excellent condition the fairways are wide open the greens are rolling smoother than ever and the sand traps "are really sand". if you want a fun yet still challenging course this is the place to play, Jack Nicklaus designed course.
Good course
The course was good but the greens weren't that great. The sand traps are in good shape and you will get to use a lot of different clubs. I would play it again.
Course markings
The only problem I had was I could not find very many yardage markers on the course. The scorecard is marked well, it just would be nice to see more markers either on the path or fairway.
