Always a fun course
The course this year is in great shape. The rough was a little tall on a few holes but still playable. Greens were in great shape as well. I've never had a bad experience here since I've played.
Best NVRPA Course
Hadn't played Brambleton in a couple years not for any reason other than it being far from where I lived. Now that I'm closer will probably put it in my regular rotation. The course was in excellent condition, especially for mid-July. Lush fairways and greens. Some bunkers looked better than others. Teeing areas were average but healthy.
This course is not very tough with slope topping out in the mid-120's. Basically every hole is "what you see is what you get" except for #5 which is just a quirky hole that demands a 175-190 yard shot to a directional flag as the hole makes almost a 90* dogleg left. Otherwise, the course sets up nicely. The rough is thick but not overly long. Pace of play for two people behind a slow threesome was still only 4 hours on a Friday afternoon.
Brambleton is comparable to its sister course Algonkian. If only you could combine Algonkian's Back 9 with Brambleton's Back 9, you'd have the makings or a really interesting 18 holes. Overall, this a good track for average golfers but will leave single digit handicappers wanting more.
Empty Course. Quick Play
Played at 12pm on a Monday and finished in under 3 hours. Pace was great. Nobody was on the course. The conditions were pretty good. The course isn't particularly difficult, but it's a fun play for a novice golfer.
I would not go this course anymore
I was at this course long time ago and did not go for awhile because of the staff’s professionalism. However, a friend of mine want to try and that’s why I was there. I found a big dog was in office and barking. A maintenance staff with kids was waiting at the green and check that ball mark was fixed. I was not feel good at all.
Nice TracK
First time played. Impressed with condition of greens, tee boxes, and fairways. Only recommendation is the sand traps. Appears sand is old and thin. A couple holes had new sand but majority were thin and rocky. Except for that, a nice track in Loudoun County.
Would play again!
Course staff and conditions were great!
Greens and fairways were in good condition, but pace of play was a but slow on front nine. Would recommend walking course to enjoy for fullest experience!
Great course
I like this course.. Is nice lots of geese dump on some the greens and I mean at lot, so that we decided to just take the bogie and move on .. Lol
Not much you can do about, it did not bother me .
Go and enjoy! Is a fun place..
Play
Very nice course bunkers could be taken care of a little more as in sand and play at times are slow even in the evening time it is very slow and they could have a snack cart going around but other than that it's a nice course to play
Bramble ton good value
I have played multiple times. Staff friendly reasonable rate of play good condition and price is very reasonable
Ramble on down to Brambleton
Course is great shape and well maintained. Friendly staff. No 'cart girl' on weekdays it seems. We were off on time and finished in about 4 hours.
Very Solid Muni
Brambleton is a "what you see is what you get" sort of course. That said, what you see ain't too bad. The course is friendly enough for high-handicappers, but has spots that can challenge the lower handicappers, too.
We played on a Wednesday afternoon, and pace of play was just fine. The course was in pretty good shape, and I'm sure it will really fill out into the summer months.
The only thing I found lacking in the course were the greens. They're pretty blah - not too many holes where you've really got too find the line. However, they did roll true, so I guess I can't really complain.
Definitely a very solid muni, and one of the better values in the DMV.
solid course
The course was pretty well maintained, a few tough holes throughout the course. Some tee boxes and greens were a little rough. All and all. Great day fun course.
Overall a good public course
$51 for 18 holes during the week is a fair price. Friendly staff ...course and greens in good shape and I liked that they enforce or try to the four hour pace of play. Would definitely go back.
Decent course
Course was in good shape. Weather was excellent, staff was friendly, and although we had to wait on a few holes, the pace of play was reasonable (4 1/2 hours).
The course itself is decent although not memorable. My only real complaint is that the rough is too long, resulting in wasted time looking for balls.
Course in great shape but too slow
Great shape but greens still bumpy. There needs to be a marshal going around because pace of play on back was horrible.
Good track. Greens aerated.
I like Brambleton but the greens were recently aerated and filled with sand. Probably be in great condition in a week or two.
After 10 years
After 10 years timelag, I come back and tried to have sentimental rounds. Some of the courses are memorized, even if this municipal course is not resort course. The deal is 25 bucks, I enjoyed matchup and good spring afternoons
Greens just aerated and sanded - unplayable
I understand that greens need to be aerated at certain times of year but there needs to be some way to inform people when they are scheduled to be done. All the greens were unplayable.
Playing in the land of deers and ducks
This is the second time I played at the course at which I purchased the Tee time on Golf now. The staff and management would not honor the Golf Now prices that they posted. I also drove an hour and a ten minutes to get to this course. I've played at least 30 courses in the Washington DC. area and I would rate this one the worst. This course was infested with Dear and Duck droppings. I will never recommend this course to anyone and the prices are not reasonable. In short I would say this Golf Course in a health hazard.
Golf
Great golf course to play at for the money. Conditions were so great cause of all the water, but overall it was a great course. Easy layout good for ameture golfer.
