Great Value
Great value through Golfnow. $30 for 18 and cart. Course was maintained well. Tee boxes had fresh grass, fairways were green, and the greens were medium paced but played true.
Only gripe I have it that we got caught behind the women's league on hole 16. They played so slow we just called it a day.
Wonderful course.
A few ground under repair aeas and the rough was long in some place and short in others, Rough is way to penal for a muni. Lost several balls that went only a yard in the rough, could not find. Otherwise this course is well worth the money!
Needs attention
Greens are in rough shape, but should come in with better weather and a little more maintenance. The rough is unusually long! A few times barely in the rough and took forever to find balls. The US Open would be jealous of the length of rough!
spring conditions
in a few weeks will be a very good play....aerated greens when we played so putting was an issue.
Good value. Good layout. Well maintained.
Only negative was lack of any Marshall's attention to slow play. Round was just under 5 hours. Since we were not in a hurry, we just enjoyed the day and the course. Well worth the money, especially considering the hot deal discount.
Brambleton is a nice local favorite
This course is one of my favorite local venues. They generally take very good care of the greens. The practice putting green is one of the best I've used. Fairways are fair with some space to spare if you are a bit off the mark. Staff is friendly and helpful. One area they should improve is the driving range. They recycle balls anyone hit out there and when you get a bucket is it like you are playing with hand-me-downs. The mats are old and should be improved getting away from a surface that is like hitting off concrete. Bunkers could use some work as well.
Great off-season value
$22.50 for 18 holes WITH CART on a 58 degree day- not a bad value! Only downside was the recent rains had the course waterlogged, but it was playable. Due to a gathering of 20 players on the front nine, I was sent off the back and made great time (1.5 hours). At the turn, it looked like people figured out that it was a nice day and packed the first tee. So my back 9 was also the back 9 (also in 1.5 hours). All in all, a great 3 hours winter round- even if a bit sloppy.
Nice course - even in the winter!
On a day when the temperature may have peaked at 50 degrees, and the wind was whistling at double-digit speeds, my expectations were very low. I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course - especially after a good "soaking" from all the rain one day prior. I look forward to playing here again!
nice muni layout
not a bad public course, but only play with some kind of deal, full price not worth it. greens were aerated a month ago and still bumpy, uneven, no good roles to be had. like they forgot to roll them out. plenty of staff but not the friendliest.
Couse is attractive, fair and very worthwhile
Brambleton is always a pleasure! It is long enough for men and manageable for women and younger players. Player don't need an A-Game to enjoy the venue but wouldn't be bored if they are scratch players.
Course was good under the conditions
Between occasional snow and wind, the play was good and worth going out.
course is set up too short for winter
The course is covered in animal manure. It is basically a nice course. Too short a setup even for a bad golfer like myself.
Great for money. but...
I got a hot deal. So, I spent 34 bucks on this course.
I was great condition on this price.
However, I have had to buy a bucket for practicing balls.
I spent 8.5 bucks for a large bucket.
So, I spent over 40 buck in total.
I'd rather go to other fancier coure with this money.
Very Fun Course, Pace of Play could use some work
I played this course as part of 4 straight rounds over labor day weekend, and found it very enjoyable. Part of the pace of play issues were due to the older gentleman I was playing with (who insisted on walking 100 yards in front of everyone else and standing directly in the middle of the hole). I found the course very challenging due to the fescue that topped the mounds surrounding most of the fairways.
Nice Muni
Maintained by the NoVa Park Authority. Good, solid weekend hacker course. I doubt single digits would be thrilled with the course, but for a novice like me it's a fun course. Can get really sloooooooooow on the weekends, but it moved along well yesterday.
Fun course for all levels, Great greens and forgiving fairways.
Played this course just after hurricane sandy so the course was still a little wet. However, the course was in great condition ( no bad spots in the fairways and no excessive ball marks on the greens) the and the greens were firm and fast. Not a challenging course but a very enjoyable golf course for all skill levels, not super large fairways but for the most part pretty forgiving. Great flat course to walk as well. Staff was great and didnt have any issues with pace of play. Cant wait to play this course on a warmer and dryer day.
Great course to have some fun
The course is not too challenging but not too easy either. They have some wide open fairways and others that are a little more narrow. Good course for the money when you use golf now.
GREAT PUBLIC COURSE
This is a great public course. The fairways are wide and forgiving and the greens are for the most part flat. There are few carries but none that cannot be managed by a novice. The grass in the rough was a little long and it was easy to loose sight of your ball but with focus it could be managed.
Course Condition is Awesome for Mid October
Brambleton GC is in an excellent condition from tees to greens for this time of year!
