The 14th - a nice short par 3 with a tricky green. Photo submitted by GolferJake78 on 03/01/2019

The 17th - probably my favorite hole on the course. Photo submitted by GolferJake78 on 03/01/2019
Tees under repair still
Looks like their first attempts to replace the tees didn’t take and they are doing a second round. Probably half the holes are impacted, usually by decreasing the length of the holes by perhaps 100 yards. Would suggest not playing the course until the tee project has been completed.
Stay away
Course was in terrible condition for the price. Most of the tee boxes were under maintenance. Basically hitting your tee shot in the rough on most holes. Left after 9 holes.
No carts!!
I paid for a golf cart and when I got there, they made me walk even though I paid for it. Understandably, it was a busy day, but I deserve a cart if I paid for it, especially on a 95 degree day. Also I got paired up with a guy who wasn’t so nice.
Repair teeing ground
Due to whole repair for the all teeing ground, the temporary teeing box that was installed on the fairway was not well maintained, also too forwarded toward to the green, all of the holes are too short, shorter than the senior tee. That is too easy for players to play... not excited, too boring!
Wouldn't recommend right now...
Most tee boxes are under construction. The temporary tee off areas are in horrible condition. The tee boxes completed were not cut so if felt like you were teeing off from the rough. Pace of play sucked. At times, there were two groups plus us waiting to tee off on some holes. Ranger just drove around and said nothing. I've enjoyed this course in the past but would not recommend right now until it is back to normal. Not really sure how they can charge full price under this condition.
Under construction
Paid full price and showed up to find that almost every hole was under construction. The pace was also incredibly slow. I’ve played there before and love the course but have dealt with slow play before and felt that there should have been a warning this time that they didn’t have tee boxes for more than half the holes before I paid $80.
Course should give a discount for the extremely poor conditions
First time playing here. I was expecting a normal public course. It had rained a bit the previous few days prior to tee time. But there was ongoing course maintenance that made the experience not worth it. None of the tee boxes were operational. The ground was soaked (to be expected from all the rain earlier in the week). If I knew that there was so much course maintenance going on I would have paid extra and played a public/private course. ... they should give a free round or a serious discount.
Overall Pretty Good
Tee box renovations and groups of 5 and even 6 slowed up play but overall solid
Be Aware: Tee Renovations
We didn't realize 14/18 or so tee boxes were going to be under complete renovation. We hit off temporary tee areas / matts. The staff discounted the round accordingly. Generally solid fairways and greens. Starters and clubhouse staff were incredibly friendly. Despite the renovations, pace of play was a bit slow for a Friday morning. Will look forward to returning when renovations are completed, but for now I will avoid until they have a (nearly) full set of refurbished tee boxes.
Tees
No one told me they were replacing all the tee box could not post score
Course under Construction
Was not aware till I got to course that a number of holes were under construction. Still played but had impact on course length. I do think it’s unfair to give a rating to the course at this juncture or condition. I do think in 2 months time it’ll be a far better conditioned course, but nevertheless I rated based on the day I played. Always liked this course and looking forward to the new look come the next month or so.
Interesting course under repair
The fairways and greens at Herndon were in good shape and playable. All but four tee boxes are under repair, so temporary teeing areas are forward of the whites on most holes. The temporary teeing areas are worn. The good news is that the repairs look like they will make the course more enjoyable, and longer.
The last time I played at Herndon was a good 38 years ago. It is much different. It is a long walk between some holes. If you want or need the steps, you will get plenty of them.
15 tee boxes under construction, plays like a junior course
Only 3 tee boxes are in play. All others are under construction. Course plays shorter than ladies tee. Not worth the price paid. Should get refund for shorter course and non regulation tee boxes
Hot deal was worth it.
Fun course at a great "hot deal" rate. However over 1/2 the holes had tee boxes under construction. As much as 200 yards on some holes, while several par 4s became long par 3s. Everything else, including the starter, was great.
