Balls bounce when putting on the green. Course is in very rough shape. Play milllquarter plantation instead.
Needs help
I have been coming to this course for about once every two to three weeks over the course of this year. The service I got from here has been pretty good and its consistent but I have not see any improvements to the course. The only thing that has improved is the putting green in front of the club house. If the course was kept up with I would come multiple times a week because the course is fun until you get to the putting. The greens are patchy, sandy, and has a weird smell. I hope the issues get better sooner rather than later.
Very nice 9 hole course
I really enjoy the 9 hole course at Windy Hill. It’s quite, usually not crowded, reasonably challenging, and generally well maintained. Some of the greens could use a little bit of love, but other than that it’s a great course.
Are y'all even trying?
What little grass that was on some of the greens were big clumps of crab grass. I noticed reviews from over a month ago talking about the greens conditions. Yet, they are still horrible. Might as well close now!
Very very Rough shape
I am not one to complain - ever. But this course is in very rough shape. No grass at all on many of the putting greens. Tufts of weeds and Mold / mildew. Impossible to putt. And the rest of the course was not much better. We couldn’t even keep score because there was no way to do well as terrible as it was. It’s never been a fancy place but this was embarrassing.
Greens in terrible shape
The greens are in terrible shape. Golfers can not putt on them. It's been this way for a long while. Nichole posted on Facebook that by September 15th the greens would be aerated. Well, yesterday she posted again saying the greens were seeded and sprayed. I played the Lake course yesterday and did not see any aeration or improvement in the greens. The greens have not been watered since new management took over. As a business you need to maintain the fairway and greens. You are taking customers money and not providing the service. Morally that is just wrong. Windy Hill needs to make major improvements. There are a lot of parties with heavy drinking that includes most of the staff. Nichole will close the course early for these "private" parties with her friends. Don't know if that's the issue that drinking clouds their ability to do what is right?
First time playing this course
I like the layout, and would be a great value for the price I paid. However the greens were in horrible shape. It looks like someone forgot to water and they all died out.
Greens have passed away
Unfortunately after all the work they have been putting into this course the last 6 months, have been taken away by the greens turning belly up.
They have noted on their FB page what happened to the grass, and they are giving discounts per round due to the conditions.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the condition of our greens. We appreciate you bringing it to our attention and we are working hard to address the issue. Thank you for your understanding and for taking the time to leave a review.
Greens were horrible.
It was like putting on a dirt patch on ever hole and they would have held a boulder set down. They actually raked the bunkers and the fairways were cut nicely and green. They must have forgotten to water the greens for about 3 weeks. Sad to see it take a turn like this.

We're sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with the greens. We appreciate your feedback and will make sure to address this issue to ensure it doesn't happen again. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Most of the greens on the Lake Course were completely burned. I don't mind them being burned but I do mind paying close of $40.00. Typically, I assume that I'm paying for the cart and all the associated costs, staff, and the course and all the costs to maintain it. The greens have not been maintained.

We apologize for the condition of the greens on our Lake Course during your visit. We understand your frustration and will address this issue to ensure a better experience for our future customers. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review.
Great value course
Good value, good pace of play. Surprised it was as busy at it was. No complaints.
Short 9-hole course with difficult greens
The Lake Course at Windy Hill is a 9-hole course that makes up for holes that are a bit short with fairways that are protected by heavy woods on either side. The greens are also challenging with a lot of undulation making putting challenging. Green condition in the summer months is not great. One par-3 requires a 165 yard tee short over water. The 9th hole has a green that is at least 50 feet above the fairway level and an undulating green. Walking the Lake Course will give your legs quite a workout navigating the ups and downs of the hilly course.
Challenging short par-3
The par-3 course at Windy Hill is short with many holes less than 120 yards, but the greens are very challenging. Some of them have extreme slopes, mounds, and dips making putting quite difficult. The greens are small as well. Green conditions have been poor in the summer months.
My only complaint about the course is the tee boxes. They need to be leveled badly. On some of the tees, positioning the ball where you want it requires standing on uneven ground so the ball is above your feet.

We appreciate your detailed review of our par-3 course at Windy Hill. We apologize for any negative experiences you had with the green conditions in the summer months and the uneven tee boxes. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.
