About
Hollows Golf Club boasts three unique nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. Conveniently, the greens fees are applicable all day, which gives you the opportunity to try out all three. The nines: Cottage, Lake, and Road, are varied enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. The Lake/Cottage combination features the most water of the three golf courses. The Lake nine wraps around a massive lake, the centerpiece of the 27-hole course. There are also a few small ponds that come into play on the front nine. The Cottage nine only has water on the third hole but this tough par 3 leaves a lasting impression. It is the Cottage's signature hole that not only features water but also an 8-foot deep bunker on the left.

Very slow
The course was decent enough for the money paid but nobody to Marshall. There was 2 three sums ahead of us and they were together playing a best ball between them. The lead group kept waiting on there tee box for them to finish there hole. After a while they all hooked up together and made a 6 some. I talked to the group behind us and they said this happens all the time here. Makes me wonder about coming back again.
Good not great.
The course for the most part is in good shape. However I found that the fairways and greens were very hard. The greens were not at all responsive to high spin approach shots. Several bunkers had almost no sand in them. And the fairways rolled a long way. Still of one of my favorites in the area but improvements could be made.

Nice day
Greens in good shape, fairways ok. Ground hard as a rock. Could use some watering . Had to play it ten yards short to approach the hole.. always fun and nice people out on the course. Started 30 minutes late. Need to space out tee times.
5-somes slowing play
Recently I’ve noticed one or more groups of 5 players playing together. That really slows the pace of play and causes a huge backup of players. Management needs to address this issue.
Great course
A great place to play. We've been playing for over a year here every Saturday and love it. The pro shop staff you couldn't ask for a better group of guys. Love this place!!
Lost item in cart - it was cleaned out
The course was fine, and pace was very good. it was rainy, but course drains well.
However, I left my GOGOGO Rangefinder in the cart at drop off. I noticed it at home and called the shop - not turned in. I drove back to check the cart - it had been cleaned up for the next day. Still, nothing turned in.
I get that I left it, but such "found" items when cleaning a cart are clearly LOST, and not yours just because you found it. It speaks to the level of staff working at this course

Fun to play
I really like playing here, even though the speed of play can be rather slow at times. Mitch is a wonderful employee and he makes checking in a great experience. One thing that I’d like to see improved is the restaurant. Its hours seem to be quite irregular. Overall, this is a low-key, snob free place to hone one’s skills.
I love this course!
I love this course!! Andy the owner at this course is amazing! Andy and his staff are great! They are always there to take teetimes and check us in with a smile and a warm welcome! The golf pro shop is top notch and offers everything a golfer should need! Big huge compliments to Andy for all he has done to make this course what it is! Andy is amazing his customer service and relationships he has with all of his guests! This golf course is top notch and number one in my opinion in the entire state of Virginia! I love it here and I play here every chance I get! I live on a golf course which is very nice but I drive over 100 miles to play here!
Late April 23
I was disappointed that the lake course is currently closed, wanted to play all 27 since course is 50+ miles from home. Greens were nice and fairly challenging, would recommend. Beware of the green side bunker on the par 5 road course, trees are growing in it. Pro shop was efficient, friendly, and Informative and the crews likewise

Great Value
As to be expected for the money, the course needs lots of work and was soggy. Understanding that it’s winter, the course discounted the price to play which will bring me back time and time again. Awesome layout and didn’t lose any balls!!!

Good course for the money
The ability to play 3 different 9 hole layouts is a nice option. Greens were rolling pretty well. We had a lot of rain a couple days prior and there was still a lot of standing water and soggy areas around the course. I’ll be back when it dries out.
