Bent Tree Golf Club
About
The lush, rolling terrain occupied by Bent Tree Golf Club was sculpted into one of the most popular championship golf courses in central Ohio. Dennis Griffiths, the course's architect, seamlessly blended the design with the natural features of the landscape. The abundant natural water hazards come into play on half the holes and Griffiths strategically incorporated several well placed bunkers. The terrain's gentle undulations provide some interesting slope in the greens that place a priority on accuracy. Bent Tree Golf Club's par-4 eighth hole is especially demanding. It may be short at only 334 yards but it is surrounded by bunkers on all sides. It is followed by another tricky par 4 that requires both distance and accuracy in order to navigate the tree-lined fairway uphill to an undulating green faced with bunkers to the front and back.

Very Nice Course
I played this course off-season, because I got such a great deal. I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course, given the fact that I was playing in November. I would definitely recommend this course to a friend.
Too close tee times! Slow play on weekends!
The starter made a point to state 4-1/2 hour pace of play was stricktly enforced and that a ranger would get on us if we held up the course. We are all handicaps 4-18 so needless to say it wasnt us holding up the course. There was no ranger in sight enforcing this pace of play rule and it took over 2-1/2 hours for the front nine. I think many went home at the turn because back nine was clear in front and behind us. Still over 5 hour round with the VERY slow front nine and fast back nine.
Very nice & well groomed course.
I did see a stack of people starting from the back, which I encountered delays when I reached the turn (10th).
Open course with very few trees to worry
This course is open field with very few trees and the grass around fairway was cut finely. I went to play alone but I did find a father and son team who offered me to play with them. There were lot of nice people. Some of the greens were not in good condition but nice people were surrounded around you.
A fun, challenging course.
From the back tees, Bent Tree offered a nice challenge and lots of thought. Sloped fairways, well placed bunkers, and elevated greens create a tricky, but fun round.
Great course ! Great value !
Staff is outstanding ! Food area to pro shop , treated like royalty
Very Slow Play
Only got through 9 holes, then decided to pack it in.
It took 1.5 hours to play 7,8,9.
At times there were 4 groups on the same hole!
Always 3 groups on every hole.
I like the course, but waisted my time.
Is this over booking, or no Ranger?
I believe some of both is to blame.
No deal for discount golf, if you cannot finish.
Nice layout fun to play but don't leave your s. wedge home.
Nice mix of holes with some water and LOTS of traps. Two couples played in 4 hrs with a noon tee time. Fairways and greens in good shape but starting to dry out (Had several weeks of dry weather) . Needs more watering. Diffic. for mid to high handicappers because of trapped fairways and greens. Can't bounce shots onto greens. Have to hit it high from all distances to get over traps and hold gr. Over all, fun to play.
Lives up to the reputation
Bent Tree has long been known as one of the better public tracks in town, but I had never made the drive to check it out. A couple of friends and I finally made the drive last night and were very impressed. The sand was in better condition than Scioto was a few weeks ago. The greens rolled true and would definitely qualify as firm and fast. I hit a 64 into the green on 12, fully expecting it to hit and stop and instead got about 10 feet of roll. The layout of the course is very challenging and there is a great deal of variety to the holes. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!
Played til dark. Cart staff seemed annoyed that we were the last in.
Excellent rate for Saturday play. Should've tee'd off about an hour sooner. Only got through 13 holes.
A very nice, newer style course
Very nice greens and fairways; play was a little slow due to a shotgun outing for the first 8 holes- then, pace of play opened up.
Some difficult lay up holes such as # 15, a good 5 par. we got a really good golfnow rate here, which is unusual because Bent Tree doesn't discount their fees very often.
This is a good public course.
Challenging course however the greens need attention.
GREENS
Played at 7 am. Greens were uncut throughout the whole round and virtually unplayable. Fairways were being cut at time. Greens were long and diseased and not worth the money.
The course is in dire need of repairs
We played the course on Friday and several of the greens are in terrible shape. Looks like some kind of fungus or something is eating up the greens. Lots of unrepaired ball marks were on the greens. It seemed I spent more time fixing the ball marks then putting. Several of the fairways have divots that weren't replaced by previous golfers or the staff when doing maintenance. Although the course rangers were nice, they could do a better job watching golfers to ensure divots and ball marks are properly repaired. I won't pay the rates again for a course in need of such repair.
Nice Layout, needs TLC
Like the layout, but the back 9 needs TLC. Fairways are in bad shape on a few holes (lots of ground under repair, with no evidence of success). Reminds me of another course owned by these folks - Royal American. Not a good value for almost $50.
To many sand traps
Course was in okay shape but the greens are pretty rough in some instances. I don't mind a sand trap or two but there are far to many traps on this course and all they really do is slow down the pace of play
Sand, sand, and more sand...
There are a ridiculous number of sand traps on this course...many of them oddly placed in the middle of several holes. I went on a Sunday and it was packed, I teed off about 25 minutes late. Once we got going the rate of play was acceptable, still took about 5 hours. Most of the greens are dried/burned out...looked like over-treatment of some kind.
Nice course, but a little pricy.
I really like the course and the layout. I would play here more often, but I think it's well overpriced for my game. It is definitely a challenging course and does have some length to it. Allows you to use all the clubs in your bag. The course is kept in pretty good shape, but the greens are fast and there is plenty of sand to get you in trouble.
Fun & challenging course for the money
Not a long course but challenging due to the bunker placement. Course was in pretty good shape except for a few burnt spots on some of the greens.
Play it.......next year !!!!
Having heard nothing but good things about the course I was pumped up to play it. This is definitely not a long track no matter which tees you play from but your approaches must be accurate or the myriad traps and water will get you. It plays fair and isn't too quirky. Would have preferred to be able to grab driver a bit more but I'm certain that's the point of their well protected greens.
DO NOT play here though until next year if you (like me) are irritated by poor greens. To be fair, I heard there was recent (July) flooding in the area which we were told accounted for the green condition. I can understand that on some of the low lying holes near lakes or streams but not on (by my count) 13 of the holes. If you must play here this year make sure its the back 9 where greens were much better.
