Delaware Golf Club

About
Delaware Golf Club sprawls across rolling countryside that lends an idyllic and secluded setting. Donald Ross designed the original nine holes in 1922 and they were later joined by a second nine designed by Michael Hurzdan in 1998. The layout meanders through wooded valleys and ravines. The rolling fairways are fairly wide but they are lined with mature trees and bunkers heavily guard the small, undulating greens. There are also water hazards that come into play on a number of holes. Delaware Golf Club's second hole is notably challenging, it is arguably the toughest hole on the front nine. This par-4 requires not only accuracy in order to avoid the ravine on the left but also distance to carry the lake and remain in the angled fairway. Golfers will be faced with one of the most difficult putts on the golf course if their approach finds the wrong side of the green.

Best public course in Columbus
I was met by Chris Foster in the pro shop, great manners and positive attitude. Said he gives lessons so I’ll definitely be taking him up on that! All around great course and staff will definitely be back.
SAS09242025
Started with cloudy day, some rain on first nine, but finish with clear day & some sunshine. Enjoyed the course, pace of play and course conditions.
Tees boxes and greens were beat up to the point where I wouldn’t come back here
Tees boxes and greens were beat up to the point where I wouldn’t come back here. Used to be one of my favorite Columbus courses and I wouldn’t play here again even if it were free.
Greens need help!
The greens are beat up and need some work. Burned out spots. I have played this course multiple times over the past 3 years and this is the worst I have seen the greens.
Disappointed
For the price point the course was in TERRIBLE shape..not worth the money…Additionally, I had a change in my group and call the golf course to see if they could accommodate me and no one had the decency to call me back..I had to drive to the golf course to speak with some..after standing around for 20 minutes before someone finally came to the front desk..should’ve known then what I was in for…Very disappointing because this golf course is right in my backyard…
Dollar for dollar, worst course I've been to.
Played 45 courses this year so far and this is by far the worst of them all and probably one of the more expensive, which makes it all even harder to bear. All of the amenities make you think that you're going to be in for a really fun experience, the staff was friendly, the aqua range was a neat feature but charging $70+ for this course in the shape it's in is about $40 too much. I won't even talk about anything but the greens because the rest of the course was in nominal shape for the time of year. However, the greens were the worst greens I've quite literally ever seen, unrepaired ball marks, dry and rotting previously cut cups, fungus all over the greens, they are horrible. Until I hear of sale of the course, firing of a superintendent or something else, I will never spend my money to golf here due to very poor maintenance and upkeep of their course.
Very Disappointed
Most of the greens/tee boxes were in terrible condition..I’d expect better for the price point which is why we booked the tee time when we did.. This is a treat for me to play this course because of the price point and I think I’ll be heading back for the remainder of the year…
Nice course
Good course to play. A little too tough for my wife, but I managed through it alright. Good challenge for me, a bit too much for her.
Fantastic course!
So glad that I "discovered" this course (after driving right past it on 23 about 1000 times). Based on the one hole that you can see from 23 (a totally flat and dead straight par 4 with a driveway running through it), you would never guess that this is a fantastic, well maintained course with a great ayout that weaves through woods and some beautiful homes. If/when you can find a good deal to get on here, it's worth the trip!
Terrible green maintenance and even worse staff
If I could leave 0 stars for staff friendliness, I would! We booked one of the last tee times of the day (me, my son, a friend and his son). None of us play very often, but my son (23) is really wanting to play more often. We really don’t have high expectations, but when we finally reached the green it somewhat resembled the pictures I’ve seen of the moon. There were unrepaired ball marks/divots everywhere. It would not be an exaggeration to say that some of the greens had 50 unrepaired ball marks each. We were trying to repair some of the marks as we played, but we really did not sign up for course maintenance…we just wanted to play golf! It was getting pretty dark as we were finishing the 18th hole, but we were taking our time since we did not have any pressure from the group behind us. The club pro (far from professional) came out and started yelling at the group behind us telling them to stop playing. He then made his way over to us and started yelling at us, “Haven’t you ever played golf before? This isn’t your playground!” We had taken our cart across regular grass on the 18th which is a par 3 to find my son’s ball. The pro continued to yell and curse at us and the group behind us as he walked back to the clubhouse. It was not a good experience…and I do not plan on golfing at Delaware Golf Club again. With some green maintenance and a little bit of understanding from the staff, I think the course has great potential.
