Royal American Links Golf Club

About
Royal American Links Golf Club pays homage to the birthplace of golf, the seaside links of Scotland, an inspiration that is also reflected in the architecture of the clubhouse. The 18-hole course was created in the traditional link-style but with added features not typical of the classic design including water coming into play on nearly every hole. There are also large, deep bunkers protect the sloping greens, many of which are double-tiered. Royal American Links Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 12th. Its green is guarded by a not only a large rock wall but also water to the front and left. There is a large bunker to the left of the green that will swallow any errant shots but players with a sharp short game will be able to manage.

Great fall Golf
Staff is friendly and Excellent service is always provided! Course is in great shape for Early fall and Greens being sanded! Get out there and Play!!
Poorly kept
I liked the design, clubhouse was very nice and staff were amazing- but the course was in really bad shape, greens having sand and many cracks in them, fairways and sand traps pretty poor. Not worth the cost
Better course 6 years ago
The fairways were long. TEE Boxes all chewed up and it.looks like they have moves the cup in weeks. For the price you would expect a better maintained course.
Course conditions certainly don't warrant $68.00
Just finish my round at this course and I have to say this is the absolute worst course I've played this year. $38.00 would have still been overpriced for this course in the condition it is in. This course is Managed poorly, maintained poorly and way over priced for the conditions. The Carts are outdated, the cart paths have deeeeep pot holes in them, the tee boxes have been hammered to the point of no grass to tee your ball. The fairways are full of weeds, the rough is nothing but crabgrass and clover, the fringes around the greens are full of crabgrass. The greens themselves have bare spots and fungus damage. The yardage stated on the card and tee markers was actually about 400 yards short of what I payed for. Pace of play was very slow, even for a Sunday, it took 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes. I do not understand how they can ask $68.00 to play, I will not be returning to this golf course and recommend you cancel your next tee time at this facility. The management, obviously doesn't care and just wants your money. Beware!!! I've played many courses in central Ohio, for less than $50.00 per round, that are in much nicer condition.
Still not in great shape, but ok.
I last played here in 2020 on a Sunday afternoon and was severely disappointed with the course conditions. I hadn’t been back in 3 years. I decided to give it a try again this year but I still wasn’t super impressed with the course conditions. There is still a lot of ground under repair, greens had lots of unfixed ball marks, and alot of the tee boxes were in rough shape as well. It did seem they were trying to fix some of the ground under repair issues and that takes time. I will probably give it till at least 2024 before I try it again. However the $43 golf now hot deal was a lot better than the $65 rack rate. It is not in good enough condition to demand $65 during the week especially.
Expected more
Signs of maintenance exist around the course but plenty of low hanging fruit/opportunities abound to increase potential. Tee boxes are tore up. Looks like they seldom get moved. Recent rain aside. Bunkers are concrete like and weed infested. Flower beds need attention everywhere. Really sad actually.
One of my favorite courses in the area
Just wish it was in better condition, but they’re working on it.
Lots of Ground Under Repair
Fairways and greens are in very good shape. The greens held shots but were slow. Majority of the tee boxes are in terrible shape and just need a complete overhaul this fall. A lot of bunkers were removed and thus a lot of ground under repair areas, which we were told about in the Pro Shop. The remaining bunkers were in poor shape. All employees were friendly and pleasant.
Dog Track
Course is in terrible condition. Needs to be completely renovated
