This was my favorite course in the Toledo, OH area. Course was unique in that you played in two states: started in Ohio, played a portion in Michigan and then returned to Ohio.
Course was designed by Harold Weber, a very good amateur golf that was a member of Inverness. Course was unique in that half of the holes player over / through a flood plane which created some very quirky green sites and allowed for some varied terrain. It is a loss to public golf in northwest Ohio.
Challenging and rewarding
Would definitely recommend and definitely you g back. Not just because I played my best round there. Lol.
Good for the price
This is a fun course to play layer out very nicely of they would spend a little more on weed prevention it would be excellent.
Terrible condition
This was the the least satisfying course I've played in the toledo area. They do not use sprinklers so the fairway is totally solid dirt with little grass.
Do you guys even have a grounds crew???
They clearly tried to fool you by mowing anything that was in sight of the clubhouse, but around 15 of the 18 fairways were like playing out of the rough at a well maintained course. They didn't even have tee markers on a single hole, so we just had to pick a spot on the box and say "guess this is where we tee off!" The greens were also quite long making even a short putt difficult as you had to hit it twice as hard as normal. Sure it was wet in some areas, but there is absolutely no reason, other than poor management, why the fairways, tee boxes and greens should have all been mowed as there were two dry days in a row prior to the date I played. Also, not a SINGLE sand (or should I say weed) trap had been raked or even looked like they had been touched since last summer. Not even rakes to do it yourself. Sticks littered the ground on almost every hole. Just absolutely terrible maintenance, especially for this time of year where a course should have all of this taken care of before they even let anyone out there. GET IT TOGETHER TAMARON! Do NOT play this course unless you have confirmed that they recently mowed and have done general maintenance.
Terrible
Don't waste your time or money. Staff is rude. Pace of play 4 hrs for 9 holes. Grass hasn't seen a mower in who knows how long. Neighborhood blasting rap music that you can hear the who time on the course. Drunk guys playing shirtless. Worse golf experience of my life.
Not Maintained
This could be a really nice course if they even attempted to maintain it. The course is moderately difficult with a lot of undulations in the fairways which I love. However, the fairways and the collars of the greens were brown even with a lot of rain in the last several weeks. All the sand traps had weeds growing in them. The golf cart paths were absolutely horrible...this is never a big deal to me but (and I am being dead serious) some of the paths were actually scary. We had to drive to the right or left of the so called "paths" because there was a risk of tipping over. The greens were fine...nice and soft. The Staff was great. Course direction was also lacking. We had to look around for the next tee box because there were no signs to give us directions. I've played many courses over the years and I can usually find the next tee with little effort but when you have to drive 50 to 60 yards to the next tee without directions, it makes it a little difficult to find.
Like I said, this course could be great if they just put a little effort into maintaining it. I might try it again next year to see if they have made improvements but I would not recommend playing it right now.
nice medium level course.
good moderate course. Bring your driver. Lot's of opportunites fro big drives
Tamaron CC
Great course for beginning or advanced players. Also a great practice course. Course can play very long or short because they have four different tee box ranges. Very friendly staff.
Not a country club anymore
Pretty rough conditions with deep grass and T markers not replaced by mowers. Did not have an enjoyable round.
Early season
Good price for early in the season because the course was not up to par yet. Greens very slow and unmanicured. No tee boxes, ball washers, etc.
1st outing of the year.
The course looked good cosidering the weather. Improvements are evident, I hope this place continues to build on them.
Good Changes
First time I've played Tamaron this year and I have to say the new management team is making good progress. The course still can use some improving, but there is evidence that they are working on it! This use to be one of my favorite to play but the last couple years it was getting really bad. Good to see the improvements! Keep it up!
My first time and probably last time
Although pace of play was great for a Friday evening, the course itself was in sub-par condition, with many areas under repair and patchy grass. The search for a good public course in toledo continues
Greens were amazing
Have played this course many times, The green this round were amazing.
