#16 Par three.Auburn CG Photo submitted by PaulBader on 04/03/2013
Super Slow
Super slow round and staff, for some reason, would not let us pass the three older group of walkers in front of us... Then the staff that told us that, played behind us and hit into us...
Always slow
This could be a more enjoyable course if the management had been more effective. We play at a brisk pace, but the staff informed us that we were prohibited from passing the three foursomes ahead of us. Consequently, we were forced to wait at approximately 15 minutes per hole, as all three teams consisted of at least two elderly walkers. This decision was illogical, and the same individual subsequently played behind us and hit into us.. We departed after nine holes due to having exceeded three hours. The last time I played at this course, the round lasted approximately 5.5 hours. I will not return to this course and do not recommend it to individuals who genuinely enjoy golfing, as it resembles meandering through a park rather than playing a sport.
Muni course in great shape
Played Sunday morning in the 8:00 hour. Finished in 4 hours after playing through a slower group at the turn. Course is in great shape for as much as it’s played. Will be back.
Great Course
I consider Auburn my home course since I so close. It is in great shape right now.
Great condition and fair pace
The course was in overall great shape and pace of play was good this time.
Best Muni in South King County
I love this course, it's beautiful, well-maintained. challenging but forgiving and well-managed. Great facilities, especially for the price. Only complaint I have is the lack of driving range but otherwise, this is my preferred course for 18.
Nice course
Paid for green fee that included a cart. The starter then asks me if I’m walking. I informed him that my green fee included a cart. I pull out my phone and he tells me that’s ok I’ll just give you a cart. Why would he ask if I was walking? Shouldn’t he have the same reservations as me on his computer? Another golfer who initially paid for a hot deal tee time that included a cart was informed by the starter that his reservations didn’t include a cart. Around the 12th hole, he showed me his reservations and it stated that a cart was included. He had to walk the entire 18 holes.
Great Course
I live close to Auburn golf courses so I play there all the time and for a municipal course it's in great shape.
Smoothest greens
I play the Auburn course quite frequently, maybe once a month or so and play many other courses. Auburn does an excellent job on maintaining their course. For early May, a lot of the winter damage is already improved, only a few chewed up areas here and there. The greens are quite excellent, very smooth, but also quite firm and fast. April was somewhat dry and it may be time to start some watering.
I like playing early and it is disappointing that the restaurant is not open until 9am. Normally I would prefer to get a sandwich and a drink before starting, but no dice, with the late opening time.
