Course was in great shape
Fairways were wide, rough was short so you could always locate your ball. Greens were running about an 9 and in excellent shape and a friendly staff made this a great day
Excellent course. Great value.
This course ended up being a very nice surprise. It was beautifully maintained and the holes offered a variety of challenges. It's also a great value. You get a much bigger bang for your buck than you do with similarly priced courses in the Vancouver/Portland area.
GREAT DAY OUTING
knew about aeration but not noticeable. Course for late in year very well maintained.. Location of next hole documented well. Greens in excellent shape, fairways well maintained green soft and divots replaced. Rough a little long makes you stay in fairway. good for game. THANKS 4 Day
very fast play, excellent condition thru out course
course in great shape, staff very friendly and helpful, cant beat the pace of play anywhere in the Portland/ sw Washington area, a bit of a drive but worth it
Tee times through Golfnow
I usually play as a single and no longer play this course because of course policy of not allowing singles to reserve tee times. I use Golfnow to reserve tee times because of benefits and pricing.
Three Rivers Golf
Got a fire deal to play at Three Rivers so I made the drive from Portland on a Sunday. Traffic was great and course was fairly open except for the two slow groups in front of us. The course is owned by the Elks Club. Everything is maintained quite well. There is an interesting water challenge for all on the back 9. Holes were a bit longer than the women's tees I am used to playing on but I adjusted. Greens were not too tricky and generously sized. If you do not live near course, it's a speedy drive down I-5 and free of freeway noise. Very relaxing and lots of shade trees.
Very dry course even after rainy periods.
A great course for "average" golfers. The fairways are pretty forgiving if you don't always hit down the middle. Well known in the area for being one of the driest coursed around as the course was built upon dredge spoils from Mt. St. Helens.
Greens in great shape
Played a 3 hour round by myself. Not crowded in the afternoon. Greens were in the best shape I've ever played them but its been a good spring for greens at many SW Washington courses. Course is fairly open and off target balls can be found and played.
Very forgiving, with a few unique challenges
Always enjoy playing this course. Drains really well, lots of roll on the fairways. Several "signature" holes that provide a unique challenge (7, 9, 10, 13). This course is a good confidence builder for me when getting ready to play some of the more difficult courses. Greens are tad bit slow, though.
Greens have improved
The greens at this course had been in sub par condition as recently as last week but I played on 6/13 and the greens have greatly improved.
Good Value
Normally play this course in the winter as it drains really well.
Course condition was just OK and greens were still a little bumpy from aerification a few weeks ago. But I like to put this in my play rotation for every 4-6 weeks.
Not too hard, but not super easy either.
Would have liked it better if the greens had been better. It looks as if they had recently been aerated and sanded. Kind of hard to hold a straight putt. Other than that the course was in good condition.
Good course and staff was helpful.
Will plan to golf again this year at your course. My group travels the I-5 for golf courses and a change of pace/challenge.
Great staff, bob w.
Excellent value, dries out well after rain
Would definitely recommend, greens well tended spring
will improve will sunshine(northwest weather). Love the
layout-rolling doglegs etc.
Very Dry course
Dry course. Nice to play and not have to wear gaiters or spray off your push cart when your done. Great winter course, but colder then most courses I have played in SW Washington. Greens very fast.
The best is that this is the driest course in western Washington or Oregon
Very good course, Dry, well maintained and fun to play.
Slow Play
This was my 1st time at 3 Rivers and my wife any I enjoyed the course. However, they allowed a group of 6 players on the course directly in front of us. The group was very rowdy and there was no marshal to monitor the situation.
Consequently, the play was very slow.
I did not play well but enjoyed the round nevertheless.
2/8/13 Course played well but still had quite a few squishy places. However, it was much better than even a week ago. Staff should roll areas which have become deeply rutted from carts being driven through wet areas in roughs and fairways. If not cared for before they dry hard it will leave many unfair lies in the summer.
Best bet for winter play....
along with Stone Creek in NW Oregon/SW Washington. Great deals on golfnow.
Easily the best shape of any course in SW Washington.
Best greens anywhere for this time of year. Fairways are lush and firm. Balls in fairway roll!
