I showed up for my 10am tee time and they were out of carts… great course though, I wish the greens were faster. Greens are being puffed sept 26th.

As ALWAYS the DRIEST course in the NORTHWEST!!
The Mt. Saint Helens ASH that they used to build on is GREAT!! I drive 45 miles to and back to my home in Vancouver WA and do it several times a month!! It is much nicer than Portland Oregon courses that has siren, traffic, road NOISE!!

Enjoyable round at 3 Rivers
Other than the smoke from the wildfires, it was a great day, but the smoke held the temperature down, so even that was not too bad. Course was in great shape, just had a 3 some that was a little slow in front of our 4 some we waited for on nearly every hole. The greens were rolling very well, and I was able to clean my clubs with the ball/club wash on the cart. Looking forward to next round I play here.

Good course with a great price!!
I like heading out of Portland’s expensive courses and hitting more reasonably priced courses. No cart service is still a bummer. I guess they do that only for tournaments.

Pace of play
Love this course, staff is great well taken care of course. Just over all nice course.
But on this day we got held up by 4 gentlemen in carts, they were even fishing balls out of the small lake..Elk Members was what we were told. Our group was walking and we had to wait on every hole (luckly they only played 9)
Then on 10 it was back to moving!

Golfnow is up to their old tactics of taking money that they shouldnt
I booked a round through Golfnow yesterday. Once again they charged a tax that does not get charged at the course. And then when you try to contact them, you only have the option for an online chat, that my computer blocks. Now i have two separate charges(Both different price) show up in my bank account. I have zero options to talk to someone at Golfnow. My only choice is to use TeeOff or some other tee time app.

Out of the Ashes
May 18, 1980. If you were living in the pacific NW you may recognize this date. I certainly do. It was the day of the Mt. Saint Helens volcano eruption. And what spewed out of the mouth of the volcano? Hot molten lava. Sun blocking hot ash. And the Three Rivers Golf Course :)
It’s estimated that about 540 tons of ash fell over 22,000 square miles. Apparently after the eruption enough ash accumulated on a local farmers land that it motivated him to sell cheep. . The new owner then turned around and charged the state to dump ash on his land from the adjacent river that they dredged it. Which, it turns out is a great foundation and drainage system for a golf course.
The course drains very well and I was told can be busier in the winter sometimes because it’s in such great shape during our wet season. The course was offered challenging driving holes, with well designed hazards and some break and slope to the greens. Plus I get to say I golfed on a Volcano:)

Ok to play
The course is in ok condition. Traps are a little rough. With that being said it is a tremendous value to play when booking thru GolfNow discounts. Will be playing there again soon
