Riverbend Golf Complex
About
The Riverbend Golf Complex sits along the Green River in Kent Valley, Wash. Owned and operated by the City of Kent, the complex offers a championship, 18-hole course and a mini-golf course. The 18-hole course is one of the busiest in the state with more than 65,000 rounds played on it annually. The golf course sprawls across a relatively flat landscape, making it easily walkable. Though it may not be hilly, that doesn't mean it's trouble free. There are more than 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and three lakes come into play as well. The layout is player friendly, with enough variety to appeal to players of all skill levels.

The golf outing. Photo submitted by mastergolfer12 on 09/26/2012
Hot sunny day
This is a course to walk. The course was in good shape. The greens were rolling true. I would play there again
Worth a try
The staff were very upbeat and helpful. The pitching/chipping/putting areas were in good condition and offered some variety. The practice bunker was not useable. I did not try the range. Tee boxes were in good condition. Fairways were well mowed and almost free of brown areas. Greens were blemish free, rolling true and bit on the slow side. From the blues, the layout included water on a few holes, but no forced carries. There were a few nice views of Mt. Rainier. All-in-all in was a good day of golf, but nothing spectacular. Well worth a try.
Nothing Special but a Good Local City Golf Course
Got a good Hotdeal from GN to play this course during my stay in the Seattle area two days after playing the Olympic Course at Gold Mountain, so Riverbend was surely a step down (I actually paid less for the Olympic tee time). The course is very flat but is in an nice area along the Green River. Fairways were in good condition and greens were smooth and weed free (they were rolling very true). Since this is a muni course and a Saturday, I new it was going to be at least a 4-hr round, but it ended up being 5hr-15min. Lots of new-slow players that were never thinking of their next shot so ready-golf was very much a foreign language to them. I think this course makes for great home course for the locals and wound not mind to have it where I live, but surely not a destination course.
Staff
The staff and ground maintenance crew are probably the most professional I''ve ever seen and since I'm a sixty-six year old disabled veteran the respect is of the utmost to me except on certain evenings, when I play the most, there's a staff member that is rude, obnoxious, arrogant and totally disrespectful to me in ever aspect; I've been told that this staff member will be leaving, going to college, and it couldn't be a day too soon for me. Again, the total staff with the exception of this one person is amazingly professional.
Would be rated higher but no restaurant.
Always have a great time here but have to go off site to eat and/or drink after.
Great Greens
The greens were well kept and rolled true. The fairways wee in good condition and primary rough encouraged good play.
Good walkable course in great shape
Very walkable, flat, fairways and greens in very good shape.
nice course
Staff is always friendly. Pace of play is almost always good. Couse has a good variety of holes
Good course, but no amenities
We play here 8-10 times a year. Course is in consistently good shape, but for some reason, they can't keep a restaurant or a liquor license. At full price weekend rates, we had no opportunity to purchase beer or food other than convenience store snacks, and there was no cart service on a perfect, sunny day. If this is going to be the case, they should offer lower rates, and certainly relax their cooler policy.
Other than that, they do a nice job with the course.
Pace of play almost completely ruined it for me.
By the third hole, #12, I felt like being stalked by the staff, because someone booked behind us and was in a hurry. 10 min. Per hole is what we're told that day. What a bust...I brought out a friend for a fun day, it was terrible, not my money's worth. There's little fun when you're being pushed to move and someone told my girlfriend she didn't belong on the course because she wasn't playing, very upsetting.
Modest, solid, enjoyable course
Course conditions above average for wet spring. Greens rolling true, but slow. When they're cut & rolled they'll be better.
Course not long or super protected or penal, with exception of water holes. Easy walk, Enjoyable and affordable. Confidence builder with ability to score.
ENJOYABLE
I really like the layout, the back 9 really has some great holes (11,12,13,15 and 17) with doglegs and ob/water in play(dont hook it!) the front 9 is a little boring but has a few niceish holes (2,3,4, and 8) if the greens are in good shape/fast it can be a good test. slow play is a real issue here, they need to get a marshal that will do something about it. each time i play it, i find it very enjoyable
Good course!
Course is in great shape given the amount of rain we've had!!
Fun
Fun course good value friendly staff. Course in good shape considering super wet year.
