Riverbend Golf Complex
About
The Riverbend Golf Complex sits along the Green River in Kent Valley, Wash. Owned and operated by the City of Kent, the complex offers a championship, 18-hole course and a mini-golf course. The 18-hole course is one of the busiest in the state with more than 65,000 rounds played on it annually. The golf course sprawls across a relatively flat landscape, making it easily walkable. Though it may not be hilly, that doesn't mean it's trouble free. There are more than 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and three lakes come into play as well. The layout is player friendly, with enough variety to appeal to players of all skill levels.

The golf outing. Photo submitted by mastergolfer12 on 09/26/2012
Typical Muni
It's not to say this course doesn't have it's challenges, but there is really nothing to special about the track. Drainage seemed poor throughout the entire course despite playing on a day with no rain. The practice facility is decent, but if you park at the club house for your round be prepared to walk across a busy street to get to the driving range.
Great deal, fun course
This was a great deal. I got a great deal on golf now, then bought their four round special because of the great staff AND FUN ROUND. I have taken group lessons there too. Recommend the group lessons to average or beginner golfers.
Great deals always
Love using last minute golf , always good courses at bargain prices
Above and Behond
I booked a tee time for two at River Bend in Kent WA using the Golf advisor site. All good accept I booked it for the wrong day. However, the staff found the mistake and allowed me and my wife to play anyway. It was great that they let us play but they also went ahead and allowed us to use the same rate saving us $23.00 per person. NICE!
Nice course - good value.
It had recently rained, but the course was well drained in early Oct. All conditions good. Mostly 2somes so speed of play moved right along. The kind of course I like: fairways average width (a couple holes a bit long for my game), greens visible from approach, and even though the fairways are relatively straight there's enough water, traps, etc. to keep it interesting and provide a challenge. Would definitely play it again.
Like it or not?
Course was in fair to good condition. Fairways real dry. Some brown patches on edges of some green. Flat course. Easy for walkers. No real problems and I enjoyed the day. Maybe a little slow 4.5 hours, but not too bad.
Convenien location
Easy walking lay out. Fairly easy even for high handicapper. Great on site restaurant.
Where's a marshall when you need one.....
Fairways = good
Greens = very good ( 8 one-putts : ) !)
Pin positions = go for the flag
Pace of play. Poor. Got stuck behind a turtle speed foursome taking way too much time on the greens. They were a hole and a half behind their group by the ninth hole and we waited on them on almost every hole.....
Enjoyed
Very nice course. Wasn't able to finish 18 holes before dark although golf now was selling tee times even a half hour after ours. We started25 minutes before tee time. Got 16 holes in. Mount rainier beautiful
Wait to long
I had play last time at this course 2years ago.
Still waiting time is to long.
We had a power cart but end finishing time was over 4 hours.
It was to long for at around here.
Fun course!
Fun course for all handicaps and one the favorite places to play. It would be even better if the restrooms on the course were regular toilets with sinks.
Average Course
$14 for green fee and golf cart = great bargain. Average public course but very busy. Water comes into play on several holes, must keep ball in play.
Great shape
The course is in great shape, play was a little slow but not bad at all.
Truly Alright
The pace of play was pretty bad, we had to wait on every hole after the turn. Other than that good mix of long par 5s and pretty easy par 3s. There are a lot of bunkers on the course and it has water in play on the back nine a lot. But on a dry open day this course would be a lot of fun to play
Good value enjoyable golf
A decent price for a fair golf course. Very straightforward layout with a few interesting holes. Greens were in good shape. Not overly challenging so a good choice for ladies, seniors and those at the beginner or intermediate phase of their development in golf.
All except....
Play was very slow for the first four holes, marshal prodded the groups ahead and it was a great pace after that. The exception? The restaurant/club house was closed. Nothing to eat on site was a big disappointment. The course is in great condition, it would be nice if golfers learned to repair their ball marks on the greens though.
Still no food...same old course
The course was in decent shape. Greens were a little fuzzy and inconsistent but very receptive. There are so many trees missing form the original design it seems a little foreign now. I normally stay away from this course due to pace of play but the pace of play was fine because we started at 6:07 AM. Restaurant still not open but we did have a beverage cart show up around the 16th hole.
