Riverbend Golf Complex
About
The Riverbend Golf Complex sits along the Green River in Kent Valley, Wash. Owned and operated by the City of Kent, the complex offers a championship, 18-hole course and a mini-golf course. The 18-hole course is one of the busiest in the state with more than 65,000 rounds played on it annually. The golf course sprawls across a relatively flat landscape, making it easily walkable. Though it may not be hilly, that doesn't mean it's trouble free. There are more than 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and three lakes come into play as well. The layout is player friendly, with enough variety to appeal to players of all skill levels.

The golf outing. Photo submitted by mastergolfer12 on 09/26/2012
Decent day on the course
Nice pace of play. Cafe/bar is closed - bring cash for the beer cart - no atm, but they won't take cards. Course was in great condition.
Love this course
Excellent in most ways. Good mix of 3's and 5 pars.
Excellent greens and pace of play.
Windy day at Riverbend
This is a wonderful course. I really enjoy it. It's mostly flat land, but with curves in all the right places and because of that, read my TIPS section. This day it was super windy. I watched the wind dominate several of my shots and two of my putts. This made the course severely challenging and fun. I LOVE a challenge. Shot an 83. My 7th game in 27 years. Looking forward to Allenmore tomorrow Friday. Remember to be WISE on your drives. Look to PLACE them for an advantage to your second shot. Greens were very hard but consistent. Good luck and great golfing! See you after next round. :--)) *cheers*... ciao!
Sunday at Riverbend
We played in 4 hours 45 minutes. Not bad for a Sunday afternoon at Riverbend. Course condition was OK. Greens rolled good. Fairways were full of divots and the sand containers on the cart had grass growing inside. Staff was very friendly. No food service at this time. The restaurant is closed for remodel but should open this summer under new management.
Rainy day
It had rained most of the morning. Got there about 20 minutes before my tee time, was able to go right away. Did not catch other golfers till #8. Back nine was a little slow, but I expected that. Coures is in good shape, as it usually is.
Great challenge from the blue tees
Best walking course in Washington state
Fun in the a.m.
The course was firm and rolled well in the fairways. Layout is a little bland but for the price and condition it was worth it.
My biggest complaint with the course was that the greens were pretty bouncy when hitting your approach shot and they didn't roll as fast as they were firm.
All in all River Bend is a good course with challenges for everyone.
Great
I rate this as an 8 . Would have been a 10 if food and drink was available. Coarse in great shape.
Awesome day
Weather was perfect, joined up with a really nice couple and another single in town from NC. Followed a tournament but still finished in 5 hrs. Great people to golf with and I played well,41-41. No complaints!
2 group wait on every tee box
Good price but way to backed up. Waited for 15 min at every tee box. So slow it took me over 3 hours on the front 9 I quit playing.
Don't expect...
The greens are horrible so don't expect to play on good greens. The course layout is fun and is challenging.
Very friendly staff at this golf course
Good course. Sloppy when wet however. Staff are extremely nice. Good greens.
Enjoyable Round in Fall
Everything went well beginning with the Golf Now booking at a very decent price to completion of the round with no issues. The restaurant was under construction / remodeling...so no food and limited beverages were available...but overall it was enjoyable and I will go back again.
Not bad if you get a good discount
There was a huge rainstorm the day before, so I expected a mess. It turned out much better than that. There was deep standing water in the bunkers and some spots on the cart path, but I didn't come across any on the course. A huge willow tree had come down on one fairway, but it really just made the tee shot a little more interesting. I expect it'll take a lot of work to get the bunkers back in shape.
I probably wouldn't recommend this course at the full rate, but Golf Now got us $30, cart included., and teeing off at the same time as the Seahawks kickoff meant the course was relatively open. We finished in 4:10. It was definitely worth every penny.
Riverbend
Played on a weekend so we didn't expect to play fast. However, we brought our little dog not knowing it was allowed. We ended up putting her back in the truck. Staff was at first accomodating, said it would be ok this time, then decided it wouldn't be. Front 9 was ok rate of play. Then we hit the back, everything stopped. We had two drunk people in front of us. We called the Marshall, with very little response. Staff decided to complain about our dog, which we shouldn't have brought. But then would do nothing about inconsiderate, slow playing drunk guys. Who obviously knew nothing about courtesy of course play. Very disappointing. Probably will either never play this course again or at least not on a weekend.

A Good Time
Friendly check in staff and easy.
Good walking course. Some of the holes that border water will tease you to drive over the water. Good luck.
Hole 14 will eat up golf balls if you are left of the fairway and green.
If you want a nice day on the course, check out Riverbend.
Crowded
We had a 6:45am tee time and there were two groups waiting at the tee about that time. Although we did finish ahead of the "pace of play" time boards posted around the course, there were several times we were waiting for the group two ahead of us slowing pace.
The course has a nice layout and water comes into play on a couple of holes.
Not even in a pinch
This course is less than a challenge. The makeshift deli was a joke and over priced.
The driving range was decent but some mats didn't have a rubber tee so I had to borrow the one from the gentleman next to me.
I wouldn't recomend this course to anyone unless every other course was out of business or golf now came up with a deal you can't resist.
Make sure you bring your own beverages and snacks so as to not help their joke of a deli.
