Riverbend Golf Complex
About
The Riverbend Golf Complex sits along the Green River in Kent Valley, Wash. Owned and operated by the City of Kent, the complex offers a championship, 18-hole course and a mini-golf course. The 18-hole course is one of the busiest in the state with more than 65,000 rounds played on it annually. The golf course sprawls across a relatively flat landscape, making it easily walkable. Though it may not be hilly, that doesn't mean it's trouble free. There are more than 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and three lakes come into play as well. The layout is player friendly, with enough variety to appeal to players of all skill levels.

The golf outing. Photo submitted by mastergolfer12 on 09/26/2012
Not even in a pinch
This course is less than a challenge. The makeshift deli was a joke and over priced.
The driving range was decent but some mats didn't have a rubber tee so I had to borrow the one from the gentleman next to me.
I wouldn't recomend this course to anyone unless every other course was out of business or golf now came up with a deal you can't resist.
Make sure you bring your own beverages and snacks so as to not help their joke of a deli.
Okay
The course was in okay condition, the greens were very good. The course is overpriced compared to others with similar layout. This course will never be my first choice at this price.
Great course to fine tune your game, enjoyable outing
This course was very level, and thus walkable. Very few dog legs, though there's water hazard. Most holes are straight, with trees lining the fairways (thus, my comment on fine tuning your straight drives). Greens are fairly large (generally not elevated) and are in great condition. Bunkers had enough sand for the times when you land in it. You can generally find wayward drives as there's not much thick undergrowth among the trees, unless you land in the water hazard.
We got a deal online with a cart. We played with another walking pair and finished our round in about 4 hours.
Heavily played course
I like Riverbend. I still need to ride in a cart even if there aren't any hills, and the course sets up very well for golf carts.
For as much as this course is played, the staff keeps the fairways and greens in excellent condition.
Slow Pace and Inconsistent Green Speeds
Marshals did not encourage a reasonable pace of play and round took over 5 hours. An off duty marshal even complained about the group causing the issue and clubhouse was unresponsive. Restroom facilities were as filthy as you could imagine. Water was not provided on the course anywhere on a 90 degree day. Riverbend used to be good value but quality and service have declined significantly in recent months.
Good Muni Course
Very playable for average golfer. Fairways & greens were well cared for; pace of play this day was great - right at 4 hrs. for a 4-some.
Putts
30 putts for 89. How bout that 40 putts last week.
Fast true greens
The putting surface was fabulous, consistent, and challenging. Fairways were hard and dry:divots were rare. No liquor license made the 19th hole a road trip!
Wide Open Fairways
Course was great for my slice. Conditions were good.
Great round,love this course!
Course was in great shape, the greens were fast and held a high shot well. Had a great time, minus a few errant shots....will be going thru golfnow again for tee times as this was fantastic for value and great golf. Loved the speed of the greens, hope they can keep them at this speed as it made the round fun and challenging. It was not crowded either!!
Just okay.
Pace was slow which is not unusual for this course. Restaurant is closed but they had a BBQ going. No way to get a beer or cash for food. Credit card terminal was down so no food or drinks available.
Course in Rough Shape
Course was in poor shape. Looked and felt beat up. Some greens were also not in the best condition. Not sure we will play there again this summer.
its a nice course well maintained
Its a fun perfect walking golf course. Complete facilities. Highly recommended
Clear your schedule for some fun
Riverbend is a great course for all levels. They have 5 different tee boxes so you've got plenty of choices but people do not tee it forward so they pace of play is SLOW. Also the pre opus restaurant is closed so bring your own food and beer!
River bend golf course
Course was in pretty good shape , I live south of Denver now and used to play here a few years back. Played with my son and a friend who still live here in the area.Any day of golf is ag good day
Beautiful way to spend the day.
the course has dried out and is in great condition. The greens were fast and true. Fairways and rough were in good shape. Takes awhile to get around, but on a beautiful day, with a view of Mt Ranier, not that bad, and a great deal on golf now.
great condition
The course was in great condition and the greens rolled smooth and true. The pace of play was a little slow due to gaps in the playing groups. I didn't see a course marshal or anyone selling beverages on the course. This attention to detail needs to be improved.
okay course
Greens were in bad condition being very unevenly sanded.
We had a good round
Great price through Golfnow, course in good shape, 3.5 hour round, fun
Bunkers have no sand, very hard to get out of.
Started to rain N greens turned to puddles
The course is setup with old back side as the front makes for a fun first nine leaving the best scorng holes for he back nine. Tee boxes were punched and sanded and not very level, fairways were nice and were being mowed the greens would not hold a wedge shot even a 60 degree shot dropping from 150feet. The greens were so firm the greens filled with puddles and were very bumpy, last time we played greens were smooth and putted much better.
