Golfer Reviews
Great course, anytime but early Saturdays.
Me and 7-11 of my friends had been playing here nearly every Saturday morning this year. But lately we have become a bit turned off. The new trend here with folks who have their own golf carts is to provide a classic rock concert experience for everyone on the course (Men's Club). Now I like my music as much as anyone, but not so much here. We were exactly 3 hours into our round, teeing off on #15 when the marshal told us we needed to start playing a scramble to "pick up our pace of play". We were finished at the club house in 3 hours and 40 minutes after we started, we felt like we were rushed on the last 3 holes and just killed what had been a great day (even with the constant rock concert playing in the background). I would recommend this course to anyone, but you might want to rethink early Saturday mornings.
Nice improvements to old stand by course
I played with my sons and we had an awesome time. Pace of play was very comfortable. Beer/food card available and staff friendly. I have been playing here since it opened and still one of my favorites to play.
DID NOT SPEND MUCH TIME AROUND PRO SHOP; So that is the rating.
Tight Ship
The sport is evolving; so is Mint Valley. I haven’t seen things this organized over there since my much younger years... the Pro Shop has everything a golfer could possibly want or need. The staff brings their A game. The place just demands a new level of respect that you won’t find anywhere else for the prices they offer. Proud of my home course. Things are looking up!
Decent course, I play here often
My only complaint is the poor sand traps. But they are bringing in new sand and seem to be fixing them up, so hopefully, that will all be fixed soon. I love everything else about this course and it's pretty affordable.
Fun course to play.
Course continues to get in better shape every time I go. The new owners are putting money into improvements. The course is fairly easy, but has some challenges. Don't forget to leave time for lunch and a beer at The Cove, on-site.
COURSE WAS GREAT
Ive played this course many times and would say it was in the best shape Ive seen it in.The staff is always friendly and helpful.Would recommend it for all skill levels
Friendly, has everything you need
Well-maintained, excellent value. I enjoy playing here regularly. Just enough water and sand hazards to make it fun but not so difficult.
Serious fast greens.
Haven't played here in about 9 years with a couple of friends that haven't played it in years either.
Had a blast. Course was in great shape.
Great for a municipal course
One of the best city owned courses I've played. Well maintained and friendly staff. Challenging with water and trees for us not so accurate golfers. Greens had just been rolled and were very fast.
Still a little damp
Tees: B
Fairways: C
Rough: C
Sand: C
Greens: A
No evidence of plugging of greens... firm, fast and true
The course is known to suffer from dampness until late spring or early summer and although it's better than many years ago that is still true
