Not a good choice after 2 straight days of rain
Course was super soggy! It did rain for two days straight so I should have expected it. Played the front nine and got a rain check from the nice lady in the pro shop for the back 9. I will definetly be back when it dries out.
Nice 18th hole
I Played this course in very wet conditions. Next time I will make review.
Homestead, Winter Friendly!
Great wintertime course! Bo, the head pro runs a good, friendly business. He advised me on a good winter golf ball to buy, and it worked great. Birdied and parred some holes, after wet weather had passed through! For a great fun experience, try Homestead!

Course is very muddy
Nice looking course but soil type does not allow for good drainage and even though it had not rained for a couple of days the course was very soggy.
Great value
Played course during very cold weather period in Lynden. Most courses in the Bellingham and Vancouver, B.C. were closed for play due to frost and icy conditions. Fairways were hard but greens were puttable. Can't beat value on golf website. Very few golfers were on the course due to 15 mph winds. 3 1/2 round for only winter golfers. Highlight of the year was hole in one on 16th hole.
Homestead
The course itself it is nice, that layout, challenging, but at this time of the year the fairways and around the greens do not drain it is very soggy and really it is unplayable the pace is slow due to the soggy ground. Summertime I recommend a course like I said this time of the year I will not playing anymore and will not recommend it. Value for the money at this time of the year not worth it.
Come to Lynden!
The only thing missing here are elevation changes otherwise nothing is missing except you! A good test that is challenging and fair at the same time. We will be back without hesitation. Great bunker positions will make you think your approach shots carefully. This is the coast and it rains lots so there is a lot of water on this course naturally. Play in the rain isn't a big deal and the course handles it quite well.
Somewhat frustrating
The course needs a starter and a marshall. The following 2 teed off before we had hit our second shots. We let them play through and they were then delayed by a slow 4 some for the rest of the front 9 which included others in the carts off looking for balls.
The 2 some we let play through then quit at nine leaving us behind this 4 and without invitation we eventually skipped a hole and passed them.
As a topper a single behind us came up and complained about our slow play while we stood waiting for the 2 some to hit their second shots.
The frustration was unnecessary but they may have been short staffed for the day.
It is a nice course.
enjoyable round of golf
The fairways and tee boxes were in pretty good shape. There were a few bare patches on some fairways and unfilled divots.
The greens were generally in good shape. However, there were a few unrepaired ball marks left by either lazy or ignorant golfers.
One green (can't remember which one) had a slight depression just before the cup that would deflect the ball.
Good layout, but needs some attention
I've played this course for 15 yrs. It's one of the most challenging courses in the region. Fairways are good after June- prior to June this is probably the wettest course in the area. Need to start top dressing. The bunkers are absolutely horrible and have been for years - if you like hitting your bunker shots off raked dirt this is the place for you! They need to spend some money to get some nice sand in greenside bunkers - I can see fairway bunkers not being kept up, but NO BUNKERS on this course have sand in them! Would really improve the course if they spent a little money on sand for the fairways and bunkers. The layout is great - course just needs a few "tweaks" to make it a lot better.
Homestead Review
Lots of water on the course. Need to be careful and study the layout to avoid trouble. Greens were in good condition. Course becomes challenging with homes around the course. Very nice course.
Wouldn't go back
Green speeds weren't consistent, some were slow, some were fast.
Many greenside bunkers had rocks in them
I would probably only come back if I got a hot deal, would go to North Bellingham, Loomis or Semi first before I consider Homestead again.
Nightmare round
The slowest and excruciatingly painful round of golf I have played in years. Waited 10 minutes on every tee box. No ranger in sight. Just a miserable experience !!
Great Course and Pace of Play
Playing on a Sunday midday usually means a long round. Finished 18 in 4 hours. Staff was very friendly.
This is a well groomed course and grounds
Loved the course as we played it for the first time it would be nice to have course guide available as some holes have hidden hazards
take a long time..
18 hole play was taken 5hours..hu~
but never seen Marshall..
Could be amazing, but in poor shape
This course has the potential to be amazing but year after year is not kept in good condition. It is a shame. The greens are terrible and look like they haven't been rolled (which is the case every time we have played there). It is the end of August, we have had just two days of rain this month...there is no reason for this course not to be in tip top shape. Who would pay full price of $55 to play here?
Great Condition
The only thing I didn't give 5 stars for was the food. We teed off at 8am and there was no breakfast service.
Very tight front 9 then it opens up on the back. Lots of sand traps but they were some of the best traps I have ever played out of.
The overall condition was the best I have ever seen it……
Well done keep up the good work guys…..
Enjoy your day here guys……..
Pay attention
Been awhile since I"d played this course and the housing has spread out around the place. Still the homes don"t come into play unless you are real wild.
A good idea if you haven:t played here before is to pick up the yardage book as there are some hidden hazards and some holes you have to play target golf.
Was dissapointed that the food shack had no sandwiches at two o:clock on a weekend. Lots of bugs around some of the water hazards because of the low water level caused by our warm summer. No mosquitos and overall a great course in good shape.
.
Good Value
Follow the signs closely or you could be on the wrong hole. Fair course with ample room off the tee
I hear you, a friend and myself came from Port Angeles for a week and we found the same situation almost evey day. Slow play. A starter and a marshall would be a good addition. A great golf course though.
