Course conditions not up to par
Slow greens, traps in terrible condition. Can’t beat the price of 50$ for a cart tho.
Homestead is good for the money paid
Homestead is hurting due to the Canadian/US borders being closed for more than a year, so they don't have much money for maintenance. That said, the course is in pretty good shape, even though it's "rough around the edges".
Nice day
Course in good shape. Good pace of 31/2 hours. Loved it although it kicked my butt. Will definitely do it again.
What a course! !
Just when you think you've mastered a course, it jumps up and sucker punches you. Dang nab it but it can play tough at times. The water seems to be everywhere. Always a challenge to focus right to the last shot. It gets in better shape every week. Compliments to the groundskeepers as they are doing a great job.
Thank you. I'll be back.
Challenging
Slow and rough Greens. Burners are terrible. Fairways are good condition.
A great walk in the park
As the sun comes out and it starts to warm up with the grass growing and the ducks and geese reproducing, it is a spectacular facility to enjoy. It is a true challenge with the hidden water. The sand traps should be played as ground under repair until there is some sand added but for an enjoyable time, you can't beat the opportunity to play here.
Excellent course weather was great
Love the customer service and the course. First time playing here, no expectations just having fun.
course was challenging, especially with 20 mph winds, I loved the play all day rate.
A great course for both casual and intermediate players.
This is my home course so I play it very often so it is a very repayable course. This course has declined in overall quality over the last few years but is still fun and playable. The course is not too difficult and features plenty of water and bunkers but they are usually not too big of a threat. The highlight hole is probably the 18th's island green. Don't come and expect to get a premium golf experience but if you are in the area looking for a casual round it is a good option.
Great track; poorly maintained.
I had high hopes for this course and the price was right at $29. It's a very well designed course and easy to walk. About half the holes have some kind of dog leg and there's lots of water. It's challenging, but fair, or at least it would be if it was properly maintained. It really sucks to make a few nice shots and have an opportunity for a birdie or par and then be punished by lousy greens and traps that are water hazards. Most courses are in fine shape due to the shut down. Not in this case. They obviously haven't been taking advantage of the shut down to maintain this course. Greens had lots of brown spots and dirt showing and weeds. Fairways had weeds and lots of clover. Bunkers had very hard sand that you usually only find in windy areas like eastern WA. They obviously cheaped out on that too. Several traps around greens had turned into ponds because of poor drainage. Traps shouldn't also be a water hazard. This course just looks like a real estate play to me.. The developer made his dough on selling the homes and condos and must feel he has a captive audience so doesn't spend the money to maintain a very beautiful course. What a disappointment...
First Time
I do like this course. OK to walk, big bonus. Relatively flat. Quite challenging. On GolfNow so will be coming here regularly.
A Diamond in the Rough
10 Minutes across the Aldergrove Border, Homestead farms is a quick trip for Canadians south. What a great course. No gimmicks. Fair amount of water, but if you have a scorecard App you should be fine for distances to water.
Rewarded if you hit fairways. Long par4's were challenging but fair.
The pace of play was fantastic. No waiting for the group ahead, and the group behind us didn't wait at all.
Greens were good. Very good for a public course.
Would play again. Planning another day trip as we speak.
Unbelievable Improvements One of Top Courses in the Area
It's hard to believe the improvements made to this course New Owners New Attitude
New Carts
All Bunkers rebuilt or Grassed in
Practice Area complete and in good shape
Fairways, Greens and Tee Boxes in very good condition
Prices make this a must play
Staff are Top notch
I would highly recommend it to anyone at any level but could prove too much to high handicappers
not good
This is one of my go to courses but I haven't played there in winter (ie rainy)
conditions for awhile. I can only give the course three stars and that's only because of the layout and my past favourable experiences, But I can't recommend that anybody play there right now. We spent all day looking for plugged balls in the fairway and lost balls in the uncut rough. On the good side, the greens and fringe areas were in great shape. I'll be back in the Spring weather permitting.
