Nice Course.
Very nice course with a nice layout. It was a cool day so not many golfers. This was our first rime playing here. There is a fair amount of water so we lost a number of balls. Should have payed closer attention to the course layout book we were given.. Course was in very good shape. Staff was friendly. Thank you.
Always fun & challenging!
Nice course, but challenging for a 70 year old!
Still, lots of fun, and in great shape!
Pretty, but challenging
This was our second play here and found the hidden water to be a challenge. Greens had lots of unrepaired ball marks and fairways undulating with lots of roll towards the water. We payed 14 holes with no one in our site for more than 4-5 holes. When we teed off on 14 we started to notice 2 groups of walkers and we proceeded to wait every hole until the end. Not sure where they came from. We tried to call the pro shop and no one answered at 5:00. It appears they just walked on the back nine.
Beautiful and Challenging
This course in well maintained and has a very challenging layout, making use of the natural wetlands in the area. I thought the water was somewhat overdone and a little oppressive at times. It dictates placement of your second shot on almost every hole, and often isn't visable when taking your second shot. Since there isn't a diagram of the course on the score card, purchasing a yardage book is a must. Asthically, the number of homes and their proximity to the course was a negative.
Hype overextended
Hype was course was in superb shape -disappointed on condition of greens - otherwise fairly decent condition
Great Course
Homestead is a great course! We are amazed that there isn't more people playing this course as it's a real gem!! The bunkers do need some work...more sand is needed. We look forward to our next round at Homestead.
Empty parking lot
Parking lot should have given me a heads up. I used to practise putting and chipping here while my wife was at the casino 2 years ago. Practise green was in bad shape then and now the whole course has caught up. Just deplorable condition. You can only stroke a putt and hope it stays on line. Not too likely. Fairways in great shape, probably because nobody plays here. Got around in 3.5 hours.
Great Day
Enjoyed the course immensely. Par 4s are challenging at 360-380 yards, fun layout. Water seems to sneak in on you at times, but very fun. Greens are in good shape for smooth putting. Fairways were nice and in good shape. Nice challenge and very fun day. Came in from Seattle and will come back.
great day
A very nice coatrse and will defintely be back just wish they hada little moe too offer for breakfat
Overall experience
We were charged more than the booking price. It took 5 hours to play. There was no Marshall to assist in the pace of play. It would be hard for me to return.
Worth a Try
Good value at the Golf Now rate. Lots of sand and water. Course plays through home and condo subdivisions that really do not come into play unless you are severely off line. Greens overall are good. Conditions were a little soft on some fairways. Overall well worth a try if you have not been here before.
Be sure!
To book online be sure of what tee off you want. I wanted to change times from walking to power cart. Phoned the pro shop, were not accommodating. Tried to phone to cancel and rebook, 2 hours of busy signals and I quit trying.
Watch your tee off times: no announcement system was being used. Had to ask people when their times were.
Course was good for all calibers although ther is lots of sand and water.
When done, the servers and the food at the restaurant ended the day nicely.
The course is a nice layout!
The course winds through different types of housing. Beautiful homes and townhomes. Tight in certain spots. Hidden water comes into play off the tee on some holes. Relatively flat. Easy to walk. Course was in good condition despite the dry summer. Good finishing hole. Enjoyed playing again!
Great tough course
Homestead is always a great course to play. My wife and I are amateur golfers and found it very difficult because of the very large number of difficult bunkers and water hazards. Also there was a homeowner fishing out balls in a water hazard beside a fairway while we were playing. very distracting and no Marshall in site. Great food and a very nice clubhouse
Quality course, lots of water
This is the second time I've played Homestead and I certainly scored much better than the first time. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape and there is a nice variety of hole layouts. Many water features come in to play on the course and they are tough to see in advance. There are no red or yellow stakes or lines around any of the water hazards and the scorecard does not advise how they are to be played. Also there is poor signage in some places and it's easy to turn the wrong way while going from green to tee. In general I enjoyed the round and look forward to playing again.
Green Fairways!
Just a great track! Very well kept, greens were true and lots of bunkers and water but still very fair.
The course is in great shape
The course was in great shape and it is challenging course if you are unable to hit the target areas. The greens could be a little truer.
Another Great Day at Homestead!
The course was in excellent shape and the greens are not too fast, not too slow. For $20 a round there is no better value anywhere in the area. To cap off a perfect day I shot par on the island 18 which is never an easy feat especially for myself.
Friendly and making improvements. Nice.
I suspect a change of ownership in the last few years and I observe some positive steps towards improving the condition of the course and finishing touches. Great price on beverages and the burger afterward was excellent and delivered with excellency.
Good job.
Challenging and fun
The staff, views and price (deal on golf now) was great.
