Executive Nine at High Cedars Golf Club

About
High Cedars Golf Club is located in Orting Valley, surrounded by views of Mount Rainier and the Puyallup River. The club has two courses, a Championship 18-hole course and an Executive nine-hole course. The Executive Course is an excellent round for sharpening your game, especially if you want to get some practice with your short irons. True to the club's name, there are beautiful cedar trees throughout the course. The layout offers a surprising amount of variety for a nine-hole golf course with strategically placed bunkers throughout and a few water hazards as well. Challenging holes are balanced by more player-friendly ones, and to further add to the course's appeal, the views are unrivaled. Foot Golf, a family-friendly option, can be played on the nine-hole course.

Garbage Course
I’ve played this course 30+ times. It’s close and they know they’re the only place worth playing within 15 miles.
Front desk usually has an angry man
Kitchen/bar closes after lunch
Pin placement is always on an incline
Play their exec nine and they’ll ask for a receipt
They’ll shut off your cart off on the course with 45 min of daylight left.
Just drive to Lake Tapps, or try Allenmore. This course is overpriced and overated because there’s nothing close by anymore. This place is simply filled with lazy employees who don’t want to be there. Just skip it
Always rude
The staff and the grounds crew are always rude. It never fails. I enjoy playing the course but ot is over priced and if you arent a regular they are extremely rude. I'm going to stop giving them money until the guy in the pro shop is gone.
Good day at High Cedars
We had a 7:20 am tee time, and the course Marshall was on top of getting us out on time. The course was in pretty good shape and the pace of play was decent as we finished in just over 4 hours, with the main choke points at the par 3’s. Overall a good experience and I will definitely be looking to get down there again.
Over rated
Dont let the.4.1 stars fool you. Overpriced average muni with the worst customer service imaginable. I am amazed every time i go there or call at how bad the communication is with staff. Aside from 1 younger guy, they are always grumpy, short, and they seem to hate any kind of interaction. Conditions are rough in the winter which is understandable but green fees in the summer don't match the product. There are points in the summer when they get the course in shape for some tournaments when i would change this review and recommend playing it. It can be a fun challenging track with some amazing views of Mt Rainier from the valley...just try not to let the staff ruin your day. Some people love this place but i think it is probably the locals that like the concenience factor and the lower slope rating.
A tad overpriced but a blast none the less
Golfed it today in a scramble for my company...first time to the course...very fun...very playable...staff was nice...beautiful view abound...course was in goof shape.only complaints were the amount of divots that needed to be filled
Nice Course Good Views
Nice course, easy to walk if you choose. Fairways has old trees but not much of a problem. Fairways were in good condition. The greens were bumpy and need to be rolled. We played with an area pro who was getting his game in shape for the Boeing Classic, he indicated the qualifying round would be here so I expect the greens will be rolled. Not many sand traps or water hazards. Nice and relaxing course if you let it be.
Early call to the 1st tee?
We made a tee time then while warming up on the range we got called to the 1st tee repeatedly! 25mins before our tee time?
Great area to play golf
Beautiful scenes and bird watchers delight. Course was in good shape. Greens were excellent ran to about a 7. Will go back.
Great Course!
Staff work hard at making your experience a great one. Course is well maintained. If there was a less than perfect condition it would be the greens....could be closer cut. But....it was a Monday and perhaps they hadn't cut since the beginning of the weekend.
Fun Day with My friends
always enjoy playing High Cedars. Everything from service to course conditions, to weather was great, and a fun day was had by all.
Greens very slow
Fairways seemed awfully brown for so early in the season. Not sure if they were prepping for something? Greens immaculate but very slow. In fact the slowest I’ve ever experienced there.
Well Maintained Track
Our round coincided with flowering shrubs- made for great scenery and relaxing play. The resident eagles made appearances several times. The greens were in good shape, traps raked and tee blocks orderly. GN rate was $24. including cart- a super deal.
Great overall condition, slow green
The course is in a good shape. The greens could be better, a little bumpy and slow.
Frustrating
1. We didn't know there was league play right before us.
2. We didn't know that the greens still had a lot of sand on it from aeration.
3. The pace of play was crazy. We waited at least 15-20 mins on each tee box in the front. We decided to go back to the front after nine holes.
I'm sure the course is different on other days but that league play was crazy slow. I will go back and play another day but the experience on this day was just not good.
Good condition. Not too hard.
This course was in great shape. Greens not too fast and the course overall has an easy layout. It does have an abundance of long holes.
Great value
Hadn’t played High Cedars for many years. Course was in great shape, weather was perfect, view excellent!
Worth a heavily discounted "hot deal"
Local course so good for the convenience especially if you can pick up a local/golf now deal although disappointed lately. Staff are cold, fairways seem like they never get cut, no marshals, slow greens. Some say that it's just the time of year but I've played other courses that take way more pride in their product in all aspects.
