the best staff ever at this course
I have played at Spanaway about 30 or more times and I have never seen the shop personal, bar service and preparation of the carts more professional than this team. The course was rained on for 3 days prior and my club closed. I recommended Spanaway to my friends because of the layout and they were more than satisfied with every thing despite the wet conditions.. The course has significantly improved in staff attitude and attention. Management should be proud of their efforts. I can see it even if others can't.
Amazing course!
This course was overall amazing and easily one of the better places I’ve played. The facilities are great from the moment you get there. The pro shop is fully stocked with pretty much anything you could need, and the practice areas are awesome. They have a solid driving range, a really nice chipping green to work on short game, and a large putting-only green which is perfect for getting a feel for the greens before your round.
The course itself was in great shape and the pace of play was very good. We never felt rushed but also didn’t get stuck waiting on every hole, which made the round really enjoyable.
The only thing I noticed was one of the pin placements was on a pretty serious downhill slope. It definitely made that hole extra challenging — I’m pretty sure my ball almost needed a seatbelt to stay on the green 😅. But honestly, it just added to the character of the course and didn’t take away from the experience at all.
Overall I had a great time and would absolutely come back to play here again. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun round and great practice facility.
Great Course
We had a great time! We were the first group off the tees with rental clubs. The rental clubs at the course were not great but the overall experience was amazing. Great pro shop staff and great folks out on the course. I would love to play here in the summer when the temperature is above freezing!
Spanaway lake
We were unaware the greens had been aerated and it naturally made the game a bit more frustrating. Had I known we would have selected a different course. The overall condition was wet and the fairways were still in good shape. Tough time of the year for great conditions. .
Fun time!
Course was good, has some dead spots on greens but still very all course was fun and we had a great time. Will play again.
Fun course
Haven’t played here in years. Course was in great shape. Greens were perfect speed for me. Pace of play was good. I saw several marshals driving around keeping an eye on things. Will definitely be back again.
Slow Pace of Play
Rangers need better job of reminding players to keep moving. I think to often the rangers are afraid of saying something to slow players. This is common every time I play. Other players also voice their concerns of slow pace of play.
Also no beverage cart to be found on the course. And here it was a hot day.
Great Course
I always love playing Lake Spanaway. Greens are fast and the fairways are maintained flawlessly. Bunkers can be a little heavy because of the moisture. Overall one of my go to courses in Pierce county.
Great Day Golfing
It was a beautiful day on a public course that is always busy but well monitored for pace of play and welcoming to female golfers.
Spanaway GC is beautiful, challenging, surprisingly long.
Was playing with a friend who hadn’t played it and he was very impressed and loved it.
Hot as hades on the 16th, regardless, it was a pleasure.
Excellent value.
