About
Allenmore Golf Course is located in the heart of Tacoma but thanks to the beautiful setting with Mt. Rainier serving as a backdrop, it feels like it's actually miles from the city. The layout is just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and though it's not particularly long, it offers plenty of variety. It's a course where you'll have to use every club in your bag. Trouble lurks at almost every turn in the form of doglegs, trees, or out-of-bounds. Water hazards also come into play. With uphill, sidehill, and downhill lies, the course is never boring and while there are some challenging holes, there are also birdie opportunities if you play strategically. In addition to the golf course, Allenmore also has a short-iron driving range and a practice facility with chipping and putting greens.

I, unfortunately, compare courses I play to Chambers bay. So if Chambers is a 5, Allenmoore is a 3. Allenmoore is a fine course, but it’s not Chambers.

Nice course and staff, but they should discount when they punch greens
Overall, I enjoyed the round. But they made little or no effort to let people know that greens were still under repair, nor did they discount green fees for that. Otherwise good!

Nice day for golf
Greens have recently been aerated however putting was not really affected by that. Weather was dry and a little windy. No one really out ahead of us, allowing for a fairly speedy round, Tee boxes and fairways in really nice shape. Definitely one of the best courses in the area!

Punched and sanded
Love this course but it's it to hard to let costumers know that the greens have been punched and sanded? It's easy to do other courses around area do via golfnow alert when selecting tee time.

Greens & Course Good - Staff Meh
Best golf course in Tacoma.
Greens are great always.
Staff friendliness I rated poor.
I had a talk with a greens keeper on the course and he was very friendly and courteous but the Pro shop attendant was the opposite. No greeting like "Hello" or "Good Morning". He just looked at me and expected me to read his mind. I didn't know he was waiting for me to tell him my tee time. I'm not a mind reader. Then he gives me the cart keys with a specific number on it. He tells me the cart is near the end of the row. I grab the very last cart in the row without checking the cart number. And now I messed up their cart rental system because I grabbed the wrong cart. Apparently I cannot follow instructions where I'm expected to look for my cart number somewhere in the row among all the carts.
Allenmore - why don't you lineup your power carts then write down the cart numbers then hand out the cart keys in that order starting with the first cart in the row? How hard is that? Make life easier on your Golf Shop attendant (and Me) so he doesn't have to deal with bone headed people like me.

Great local course
I always have fun playing this course. The staff is friendly and the course drains well making it playable in the winter. The only negative about allenmore is its location; bounded on 4 sides by major roads including I-5 making traffic noise an unfortunate part of the experience. Reasonable rates and a challenging layout will keep me coming back for years to come.

Great Staff
The staff is excellent. I golf at allenmore often and the staff is always very professional and courteous. When I have questions about the course and the conditons they always address my concerns. This includes the grounds crew as well. I think that allenmore is an excellant run golf course.
