improvements needed
greens good shape in most cases fairways not so much lots of brown dead grass course not being kept up. word on the streets is course is closeing oct 1 And has been sold.
No carts or range balls
We get there an hour ahead of our tee time only to be told they didn’t have range balls. And believe it or not, they said they wouldn’t have any carts by the time our tee time came around either. Seriously?
We told the guy in the shop to cancel our tee time and we are going elsewhere.
This place has really gone downhill lately.
Beautiful course
Very challenging, but very fun. If you don’t hit straight you’ll be in danger fast. I’ll be playing these course more often.
Lewis River late August
Sad to say this course has been neglected, and it is now in very poor condition. Fairways were terrible; they were bumpy, gummy, and extremely dry in spots. Around some greens it was like a swamp. A 7 iron into 9 plugged so deep the top of the ball was almost even with the ground.
The fairways were very rough in front of the greens.
16 green was a swamp on the low side.
It is obvious the owners care very little for this course and/or the ground crew knows little to nothing about taking care of a course.
The tee boxes were trash.....rough and unkept. Yesterday's broken tees were all over the place.
There was nothing in the pro shop......NOTHING. Sure glad I had all my golf needs.
Sad to see this jewel in this condition. Will not be playing it again. Too many other nice courses within 50 miles.
Closing soon …
Nothing in the pro shop. On the 15th hole, I think. A big sign saying buy a water front home on a 12 hole golf course ! Ok first the size of the pictured home appears to be a home for millions of dollars. No one is gonna drive all the way out there just to play 12 holes. In order to support this. The developer will need to charge millions for the giant homes. I have no idea how they think they are going to be insured due to flooding. The last time it flooded. It washed over a great portion of the course. Sad this was a great 18 hole course with a beautiful setting. I knew something was wrong when a plant had a sold sign on it !
Best round in several years
Had an enjoyable round. Best score for several years. Shot 85. Worst part was being ng behind a very slow foursome for the first 10 holes before they let me play through.
Beautiful setting in the trees
Interesting course 3 par 5's on the back nine... enjoyable to play. Not super busy...the restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday but the back deck overlooking the Lewis river is beautiful so make sure to eat there.... Very nice place to spend the day golfing...
Enjoyable Round
Played with two out of staters. Enjoyed the friendship and golf. Enjoyable even though we are in a drought and high temperatures today. Will play here again.
Burnt Out
I know it’s been hot this spring and summer but a lot of the course is dead. No beverage cart on a hot Sunday. Restaurant was already closed by 4. It’s like the owners don’t even care. It has so much potential but it’s sad in the state it is right now.
Improvement
I have played here before so I am familiar to should be. Not up to standard
Decent
Decent course, cool layout a couple challenging holes to spice it up. You can tell this course is hurting though. Pretty rough shape greens are in dire need of some help. They’re bare in spots on every green and though they’re cut short they are unbearably slow. That being said they roll true enough and it’s an enjoyable place to play with great views of the Lewis river on several holes.
Great Course!
We love this course and highly recommend it. The scenery is beautiful! Bald Eagles flying overhead! Lewis River views! What more can you ask?
Terrible customer service
Double charged for round of golf, Pro Shop manager Lori refuses to return calls or respond to emails to correct the error. Homeless people milling about the course, trying to peddle golf balls found in the water hazards along with popping out while you trying to golf.
I will never play here again and recommend others to stay away. Mint Valley just up the highway is customer friendly and a great course.
