Not with the money
Course is in rough shape. Teeboxes are a combination of dirt and crabgrass. Greens were not rolled. No starter on the first tee. So groups were just random. Driving range was closed for repair when I got there but somehow open an hour or so later. A tournament was going on with no social distancing or masks worn by staff or players. Just a large group(20+) standing on the tee box. Save your money and play somewhere else.
Trash
Been two years since I've played here. Gonna be at least 2 years before I go back. Sand smeared all over the greens and around the fringe. Led to inconsistent green speeds. There was more brown grass than green grass on the fairways. Some spots had no grass at all. Staff was nice enough. When we were leaving heard some golfers talking about walking because they had "issues" with the carts. Sad because I used to love this course. If they charged 20 to walk 18 in stead of 40 which is more expensive than both mint and three rivers which are far better, I might play here more. Not worth it by a long shot.
Fun Course
This is a fun course for the average golfer. Condition is always good, but not great. Very nice local course that is challenging and pretty.
Course has been in better shape
Showed up an hour before our tee time only to be told we had to wait for a Cart which didn’t happen until after our tee time. Tried to reserve one but they aren’t reserving carts , group in front of us showed up 5 minutes before their tee time and were given the 2 carts right when they showed up. Course has been in better shape. Multiple greens have brown spots on them . Won’t be back their until next summer
Don’t judge a book by its greenfee
Better than the price of admission. Good course for the money and the back nine will test the better players for sure. The legendary par 5 on the back (I think it’s 12) is a victory in itself if you can get home in 3.
Ho hum
Course is in decent condition and the staff is very friendly. Pace of play was very slow. Very narrow course with not a lot of opportunity for shot variety.
Fathers Day
Regular at course. As usually very busy for FD. With a slight 20 min delay we were off. Carts tight, but course did good job managing. The new Mgr Lori had starter and marshall moving things along appropriately. Beverage cart was making regular rounds, and food at the turn was fast. Course is in very good shape. Fairways and Greens great. But don't leave short stuff...ruff is long. Proximity to river has ecological limits on heavy fertilizer, conditions will never be on par with those that can. But I am good with that.
nice course
The condition of fairway and green was good. Many people played there but the pace of game was good.
Classic Beauty
Driving in along the Lewis River I could tell this was going to be a beautiful property. Huge, old trees lining the fairways and a layout designed for walking. Greens were a bit slow, seemed like they had been recently ‘sanded’ maybe? Otherwise, an awesome course! Fun to play with a nice mix of shot shapes. A power-fade will serve you well off the tee! Will definitely be playing here again!!
Nice to get roll again
Course just opened last week and is in great shape, except rough still has one more mowing to do. Greens and fairways were great.
Great Outing
First time out after the Washington courses reopened and could not be happier. Perfect weather, a good friend to play with and did not play as badly as I feared.
Fantastic surprise
Pulled up to this hidden gem yesterday and couldn’t have been happier- the staff was attentive and friendly - the course was in great shape and absolutely beautiful - quiet - I’ll be back a few times this summer. Only minor issue - Due to The current social distancing situation everyone had their own cart - so they were in short supply - and under-charged - mine died in the 14th hole - no worries - no idea how the bar and food were as unfortunately they were victim to the mandatory closures - I’m sure I’ll find out in the future !!
Staff
I have played here three weeks in a row and Brandie and Kevin have been great to work with and very helpful. It is greatly appreciated that they didn't let any groups off the back while I made the turn. Course has been in great shape as well. Good Superintendent is on the ball too!!
Lewis River
The course was in great shape. It was wet, but very playable. There were places were it was squishy. There was some standing water. I had no bad lies in the fairway. Fairways were excellent. Greens were in great shape, and not soft. Rolling true.
